3 Dam Repairs Completed in October During the summer of 2009 the dam gates were not closing properly which resulted in the loss of pond water and difficulty in keeping the water level at the desired height. In order to make required repairs it was necessary to wait until fall when the water level was at the lowest point. The two steel gates were repaired on Noovember 9, The repairs consisted of replacing twelve broken/rusted bolts which held a four foot steel plate and rubber gasket to the base of each gate. The old bolts were drilled ot and new stainless steel bolts were inserted in their place. The water leakage problem is now solved. Many thanks to Dale Twitchell, Carl Burdin, Burt Landry, Jim Driscoll, Peter Leavitt, Jim Adams, and Pete Pilsbury for all their efforts in completing the repair work. Pete Pilsbury and Page 3

He is now a private consultant and will provide us with some information on acquiring another grant. Water Testing Committee: Water clarity was 5.9. Oxygen level at 6 meters was 0 ppm which is the worst reading ever at that depth. The heavy rains triggered more phosphorus in the pond from runoff. Homeowners are urged to do everything possible to eliminate the runoff. A 4 foot buffer of plantings along the shoreline is advised. Invasive Plant Committee: John Sabine and Rich Bray surveyed the high risk areas of the lake and no invasive plants have been detected Page 5
