We ve Got Spirit - How Bout You? All Star and Recreation/Youth division cheerleaders - show us your spirit at Idlewild s 11th annual Cheerleading Competition. Enjoy an entire day of park FUN, along with some friendly competition. Invite your family and friends and make the day an event everyone will remember! Enclosed you will find everything you need to confirm your spot in the competition. Please read the enclosed Guidelines & Requirements along with the Registration/Ticket Order form. Please note, a waiver release form must be completed for each participant and must be on file at Idlewild by July 21, Judging will be provided and trophies will be awarded to the top three squads in each division. An awards presentation will be held on the Hillside Theatre Stage following the conclusion of the competition. Discount FunDay Passes for Idlewild rides, attractions and waterpark are available to all cheerleaders, family members and friends for advance purchase through coaches at just $20.50 per ticket - that s a Savings of $19.49 Off the regular $ tax gate price. Now that s something to cheer about! Our Cheer Meal - makes it so easy to provide an affordable and delicious meal for your squad and family members. All you have to do is order and pre-pay for the number of meal tickets needed. We ll take care of the rest. The meal will be served in the Cheer Pavilion (Pavilion D-2) from 11:30-2:30 PM. The menu* includes plump & juicy hot dogs, grilled hamburgers, potato salad, chips, and an ice cream treat - Yum! PLUS, unlimited soft drinks during meal time. *One of each menu item, plus, unlimited soft drinks. 2 Guidelines & Requirements Idlewild and SoakZone WHERE AND WHEN: Cheerleading Competition A. Competition will take place on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Idlewild s Ballfield. Bleacher seating will be provided. Pavilions D-1 & D-2 are reserved for the day for squad and family picnic use. B. Competition will begin at 11:00 AM. All squads will be called in alphabetical order to perform. Please be alert as to your division s approximate performance time. Park gates open at 10:00 AM. Rides and attractions begin opening at 11:30 AM. C. Performing area is matted, 42 X 42. Note: Please be flexible enough in your routine in case of any last minute changes. Alternate arrangements may be made in the event of inclement weather. Squad Registration Forms and Waivers Must be Received by Monday, July 21, 2014 REQUIREMENTS: A. We ask that all squads please perform in uniform. B. A 2.5 minute or under competition routine which should include segments in dance, transition and cheer. If you are competing Cheer/Music then your music portion must not exceed 1 minute and 45 seconds. Music can be broken up into smaller time frames. If you are All Music then the music portion must not exceed 2.5 minutes. You will be timed accordingly. There will be one point deducted for each second over the time limit. C. Recreational teams must follow the National Federation Rules for School Teams. A book can be obtained by calling the NFHS at D. All Star Teams are governed by the USASF. Pom-pons and signs plus any combination of dance steps, jumps, partner stunts, gymnastics or pyramids from Level 1-5 in the USASF Level Guidelines are permitted.

3 REQUIREMENTS CONT D: E. ALL SQUADS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN SPOTTERS AS NEEDED. F. Please provide a cd or cassette tape of your music. All cd s and cassette tapes must be labeled. Please bring them with you when your squad is called to the stand-by area to perform. ALL SQUADS MUST HAVE A COACH OR REPRESENTATIVE PRESENT AT THE SOUND BOOTH WHEN YOUR SQUAD PERFORMS. An Idlewild representative will be provided to operate the sound system. JUDGING: A. Judges will be provided. ANY VIOLATION OF RULES WILL RESULT IN ELIMINATION FROM THE COMPETITION. AWARDS: The Awards Presentation will be held at the Hillside Theatre Stage following the conclusion of the competitions. A. Each squad is asked to have two representatives on stage for the Awards Presentation. B. Trophies will be awarded to the 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd place squad categories in each division. ADMISSION GUIDELINES: A. All discount tickets must be purchased in advance from coaches and distributed before arriving at the park. Any tickets purchased on the day of the event will be at the regular gate price. B. All squad registration lists must be received no later than Monday, July 21, No squad will be permitted to perform without a list. C. Settlement for tickets will be done at the Main Gate Office between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM or at the Group Sales Office between 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM. Every participant must complete a waiver form. I also authorize any necessary treatment by a qualified physician for myself or daughter/son, for any injuries I, she/he may sustain while at the competition. In case of an emergency during the event, I would like them transported to the hospital for medical treatment and hold Idlewild and its representatives harmless in their execution of this authority. I further release Idlewild and its parent organizations and representatives from any claims for injury or illness that may be sustained as a result of my or my child s participation in this event. I acknowledge and understand that in participating in the event, there is a possibility that I or my child may sustain illness or injury in connection with my/her/his participation, including injuries caused by the natural environment of Idlewild and the negligence of Idlewild employees and agents. I also release Champion Cheer Central, Inc., as well as its representatives, from any claims for personal injury or illness that I or my child may sustain during the event, including without limitation any injuries resulting from negligence. I understand and will be responsible for any medical bills that may be incurred on behalf of myself, daughter/son for physical illness or injury during the competition. Idlewild reserves the right to send any participant to a hospital for diagnosis and treatment, with the parent/guardian assuming full responsibility. I give Idlewild permission to film, photograph, or videotape myself/daughter/son or (advisor/coach/director) for any reproductions connected with Idlewild; in particular, reproduction for use in any form of advertisement for Idlewild promotional purposes.
