1 Welcome to The O! We are very excited that you have chosen Cheer Omega. Our mission at Cheer Omega Allstars is to enrich the lives of the children and their families through the sport of competitive cheerleading. Our goal each day is to teach our athletes the value of commitment, hard work, integrity, leadership, self-confidence, positive attitudes and a love for the sport. Each and every family is important to us and our program. Welcome to Our Family! Please be prepared to turn in the following information after receiving your team placements: Financial Commitment/Credit Card Info page Cheer Omega Tryout Form New Member Information Form and Waiver Team Rep Form Copy of your child s Birth Certificate Tryout fee. TRYOUT DATES/TIMES: At Cheer Omega, we believe that each child has strengths that may not always be showcased in a group tryout setting. For this reason, we are holding private tryouts for our season. This gives us time to get to know each athlete and their parents. Tryouts will be conducted during the week of May 11 th - May 16 th with Cheer Omega staff members and then a brief parent meeting with each family will follow. We believe in having an open line of communication with families, and that communication will begin as soon as your child begins his or her journey with us. Cheer Omega was created to be a place for EVERY athlete to realize and reach their true potential. To schedule your child s tryout time, please call or CheerOmegaGym@gmail.com. Drop in tryout times will also be available on Saturday, May 16 th between 10am-12pm. We are also pleased to invite all athletes who have tried out during the week to meet the OMEGA coaching staff during a free open tumble session during the May 16 th tryout from 11am-12pm.

3 FAQ S Q: How much does it cost? A: Tuition is per month. This cost does not include: uniform, warm-ups, travel costs, Summit/The One fees (extraneous team shirts, bows, etc. are not included as well). We are proud to offer a very competitive All Star Cheerleading rate and encourage you to ask about any discounts that may benefit your family. For our families with multiple children involved in the Cheer Omega All Star Program, you will receive FREE Tuition for the first sibling, and ½ off any additional siblings (All discounts are applied after the first full paid cheerleader). Omega is also pleased to offer FREE Male tuition. Non-Discounted monthly tuition costs will be $100 per month and monthly assessment costs including but not limited to, coaching fees, competition fees, practice wear, etc. will vary depending on the outside fees that are due each month, but will range in between $50-$143. A detailed cost summary for each month can be found on the next page. **All cheerleaders are responsible for paying assessments** Q: Who are the coaches? A: Our entire coaching staff is certified through USASF. Other certifications include but are not limited to USA-Gymnastics Professional and Safety Certifications, CPR Certifications, and AACCA Certifications. All of our coaches have also been highly trained on the best spotting techniques for all levels to ensure each child s safety. We are privileged to have one of the most experienced and knowledgeable group of coaches in the country. All of our coaches believe strongly in the Cheer Omega mission and are excited to create the best competition experience for your cheerleader. Q: What competitions do we attend? A: Competition Schedule is located at the back of this packet. Please note that competitions may be added or removed. Q: How do you select teams? A: We select teams to be the most competitive in each level. We base these placements on physical ability (jumps, stunts, tumble, motions, etc.), as well as past cheer experience. We do not believe in pushing kids too fast for skills or a level that they are not ready for, as this can result in injury. It is very important to the Omega Staff to create a safe atmosphere where each cheerleader can reach their top potential at the correct pace. Although the final decision among placements is up to coaches discretion, we have listed the following tumbling requirements for each of the USASF levels, so families can be informed as to your child s correct tumbling level. Stunting level and experience is also taken into account when making team selections. USASF Level 1 Forward roll, Backward Roll, Handstand, Cartwheel, Roundoff, Back Walkover, Front Walkover (Bonus Skill- Standing BHS) USASF Level 2 Standing Back Handspring, Back Walkover BHS, Round off Back Handspring, Round off series Back Handsprings, Front Handspring, Dive Roll (Bonus skill Standing two BHS) USASF Level 3 Standing Three Back Handsprings, 4 Jump Combo to Back Handspring, Roundoff Back Tuck, Roundoff Back Handspring Tuck, Front Tuck (Bonus Skill Standing Back Tuck) USASF Level 4 Standing Back Tuck, Standing Back Pike, Standing Back Handspring Back Tuck or Layout, Roundoff Back Handspring Layout, Specialty tumbling passes including but not limited to whips, layouts, front tuck stepouts, and more non twisting airborne skills. (Bonus Skill Full) USASF Level 5R- Jumps to Back Tuck, Standing Back Handspring Full, Roundoff Back Handspring Full, Arabians, Specialty tumbling passes including but not limited to Whips and Front Tuck Stepouts through to Full. If your team receives a bid to one of these prestigious events, one of these events may be added to your schedule* Hotel Accommodations: Cheer Omega suggests that all Cheerleaders and coaches use the same accommodations at all out of town competitions. We will communicate with all athletes and parents as to which hotel for each event will be designated as the Team Hotel for the weekend. We understand that there are certain circumstances where families will need to stay at other accommodations for example: if you have family in the area. However, we will periodically have team meetings at the Omega Team Hotel and it will be your responsibility to ensure that your athlete(s) attend these meetings. Pre-Competition Meetings: Competition parent meetings may be held during BLACKOUT WEEK. These weeks are the week immediately prior to any competition. We will go over all of the information that parents and athletes need to know for the upcoming event. We will also let you know of any team hotel meetings and, if the venue allows, where our program meeting spot will be at the event. In the case that we are unable to predetermine a meet spot for any competition, Cheer Omega will have a large meeting sign, banner, or tent; so that parents can easily find our program once they reach the competition venue. If a meeting is not held prior to a particular event, a pre-competition will be sent out with all of the necessary information for the weekend.

10 Code of Conduct Roles and Responsibilities: Coaches and Staff To provide a safe and encouraging atmosphere for athletes to learn and grow within the sport of All Star Cheerleading To remain fair and consistent while enforcing the Cheer Omega rules and code of conduct To continue to further grow their knowledge throughout the sport To withhold the highest coaching certifications; including but not limited to; USASF Stunts, Tumbling, and Baskets Levels 1-5 certifications, USA-Gymnastics Safety Certification, and AACCA Certifications To grow each and every athlete to their top potential within the sport of All Star Cheerleading Athletes To at all times respect their coaches, teammates, and the Cheer Omega Program as a whole To always portray the Cheer Omega Program in a positive manner and serve as a positive role model in the cheer industry To arrive to all practices and competitions on time, in correct attire, and ready to give 110% To communicate any questions or concerns that they may have to their coach in an appropriate manner To keep an open line of communication about any injuries or fears within the sport that they may have Parents To at all times respect the Cheer Omega program and coaching staff To communicate any questions or concerns that they may have by following the appropriate communication chart listed above To always motivate all athletes in a positive manner To help insure, to the best of their ability, that their athlete(s) arrive to practice or competitions on time, in correct attire, and ready to give 110% To keep an open line of communication with their child(ren) s coach about any injuries or fears within the sport that their child(ren) may have Attendance Policy: All Star Cheerleading is a team sport and each athlete s role on his/her team is very important. For this reason, it is of upmost importance that athlete s attend every practice to insure that their team is successful, safe, and united. Summer Practices: (May-August) We understand that families have other obligations during the summer months and are willing to work with schedules during this time to accommodate that. However, it is still very important to attend as many summer practices as possible as this is a crucial skill building time to prepare for competition season. If you know of any days or weeks that your family will be out of town for summer, you must fill out the appropriate absence form and get these dates on your team calendar. Choreography week is MANDATORY and will be set after try-outs.

11 Competition Season Practices (September-April) Competition season practices are MANDATORY. Any athlete who will miss a practice must fill out the absence request form. We will do our best to work with all athletes to approve absences, as long as the requests are kept to a minimum. If your request is denied and the athlete still misses that practice, Cheer Omega reserves the right to remove an athlete from the competition roster or his/her spots in the routine. All BLACKOUT week practices are mandatory and if an athlete misses for any reason during this week, they will be removed from the competition roster for that event. Attendance is detrimental to success and safety of each team. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Illness and Injury If an athlete has a fever and is contagious and cannot attend practice, a doctor s note is required. Athletes, who are not contagious, must still attend practice. Athletes should communicate with their coaches upon arrival that they are sick, and dependent on coaches discretion, that athlete may only have to do minimal parts of the routine. Any injuries should be communicated as soon as possible to an athlete s coach. Dependent on the severity of the injury, coaches will decide an appropriate way to move forward. Each athlete s safety is our top priority at Cheer Omega. For this reason, an athlete may have to be removed from the competition roster or certain spots within the routine for the duration of their injury. Team Mom s (or Dad s) Each team will have a team parent designated at the start of each competitive season. It is the responsibility of all other parent s to treat each team parent with respect and communicate any last minute practice emergencies with them. If you are interested in becoming a team parent, please CheerOmegaGym@gmail.com. The team mom s roles and responsibilities are as follows: Assist the coaches at competitions with meeting times and in warm-ups. Attend all practices and call athletes who are more than 10 minutes late any information given from coaching staff to all of the parents on your team s roster Take attendance at each practice Help to insure that the team calendar is up to date Keep an open line of communication with team coaches and parents *We are also SO excited to announce that Cheer Omega was the ONLY All Star program on the gulf coast and surrounding areas to have EVERY team place Top 3 at every regular season competition!
