2 Recreational Gymnastics Open GYM Preschool open gym every Monday and Friday am ages 2+ $5 per child Big gym open gym every Saturday ages 7+ $10 per child per session. First session is 9:30-11:30 am second session is 12-2 pm. Open Gym reminder: Remind your child to stay within their skill level while participating in Open Gym. It is very tempting to attempt skills they see others do. However, open gym is NOT the environment to try new and/or more difficult skills they have not conquered in class. If they have a question regarding a specific skill they would like to work on during open gym it is best to reach out to his/her coach before or after class to inquire. Remember that we have athletes of all abilities and levels that attend open gym and we want everyone to remain safe If you miss a class due to an illness or school function make sure to talk to your coach to be put on the make up list. Make ups are on the first Saturday of the month and you must be on the list to attend the make up. Little gym make up is am and big gym make up is 11-12:30 pm. Athletes need to wear proper attire during classes. Gymnastics for girls is a gymnastics leotard with shorts over if they want, no shoes in the gym with hair pulled back. Boys should be in either a boys leotard or a tight shirt and shorts. Dancers should be in a dance leotard with shoes for your style of dance and hair pulled back. shirt that is long enough to be tucked in, tennis shoes, and hair pulled back. All athletes should be lined up at the gym door ready to go when class begins. Be on the look out for our new student of the month board in the lower level viewing area! Cheerleaders should be in shorts, a t- Active Life Learning Preschool In February we had a lot of fun. We made igloo s and doll houses since our letters were I and D. We also had a lot of fun with our valentines party and our extra marble party for filling our jar with good deeds! Registration for the school year opens soon be on the look out for that! Active life learning preschool is a kindergarten preparedness preschool for kids ages 3-5! Fitness GYM FIT Our very own Adana Harris, head coach of our girls hotshots team and owner of the gym, designed a fitness class for adults incorporating basics of gymnastics with strength training and conditioning. This class is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 7:00 am for anyone ages 16 and up. Get your morning going with the gym fit class. OPEN WORKOUT Haven t heard about the work out room yet? We have a workout room upstairs for you to use while your kids are in class! It is $20 a month for unlimited usage. The workout room is open anytime the front desk is open! You must be at least 16 to use the workout room without an adult present. DANCE FIT Taught by once of our dance instructors Darla. Dance fit is an adult dance and fitness class it is Tuesdays at 6:15 pm for an hour. Sign up for the month or drop in for $15 per class for current members of the gym. $17 a class for non members 2 March 2018
3 Cheer Dance This month the Recreational cheer classes are heading into choreography and will begin learning several cheers. Those cheers will be used for the Jr. Lilac Parade in May, as well as the end of the year show in June. The Rec Cheer level 1 and Level 2 classes are mastering cradle dismounts in their stunting and improving their round-offs. Several athletes have already achieved their front walkovers and front handsprings in the Level 2 rec class! Don't forget that this is the last chance to sign up for the end of the year show; registration closes on March 10th! Each cheerleader that is in the show will receive a cheer uniform complete with hair bow and poms! Dynamic's competitive cheer attended the Spirit Cheer competition on February 10th-11th in Tacoma, WA. It was one of the largest competitions the team has attended to date, and there was heavy competition. Despite that, the teams took home 5th place and 7th place and received Superior rankings for their performances. We couldn't be prouder of their hard work! Next, the teams are heading to Portland, OR for All Star Cheer's PacWest Nationals on March 10-11th! Good luck, teams Heat and Explosion! Dancer s Spotlight "Elise Krueger has been nominated as the Dancer in the Spotlight for this month; Elise is 6 years old, soon to be 7, and she is in the Jazz 1 dance class at Dynamic. Elise was nominated for her extreme enthusiasm that she never fails to bring to class and her hard work in her skills. When she struggles with a skill being taught in class, she goes home to practice it, and her teacher, Ms. Jenni is always presently surprised at how quickly Elise grows in her dancing because of her outside application. Elise has fantastic axle jumps and is already mastering her right and left pirouette turns! Congratulations, Elise!" All of the dance classes have already started choreography for the end of the year show in June, and registration will be closing for the end of the year show on March 10th! Please be sure to get signed up, as we would love to have your dancer in our recital this June! This month the preschool and beginning rec dance classes' theme is Dancing in the Garden, and they will be exploring the creative movements of butterflies, grasshoppers, mice, bunnies, and more! The dancers are growing quickly now that they've been building on skills every month. Preschool tappers are already advancing into tap skills that move backwards, and the ballet classes are working carefully on their turn out and improving their extension through their arabesques. Jazz is working on pirouette turns and a variety of jumps. 3 March 2018
