President s Message I hope that all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and didn't eat too much turkey. Doesn't everyone always say that? Well we are close to the end of the year now and getting ready for Christmas. I always enjoy this time of year mainly with the cooler weather and the Holiday Sprit in the air, it makes me feel more alive then to sweat in the heat. Having a car for your wife makes it easy to buy Christmas presents like car parts. You don't feel so guilty buying that chrome bumper or wiring harness. Some new tools for your wife is not bad either so that HER car can get fixed faster. See always a good idea. Last month the meeting was at the Raben's and although we didn't have a spectacular turn out as we have had in the past, but those there had a good time. Ronnie always adds something new to his garage and this year was no different. The food was great and the hospitality from the Raben's was wonderful. Thanks to Robin and Ronnie for hosting the November meeting. The voting of Officers took place and Kay Bowen is now the Treasurer, Cristy Pottoff is the Secretary, Jim Rankin is the Vice and Dennis Z. is the Activities Director but would really appreciate someone else taking it over since he really does not have the time. Wes Campbell is the WebMaster and I'm still the Pres. as you voted again for me. From All of the Officers of Your Club, we want to wish you a Very Happy and Safe Holiday Season. 1

2 Hope to see many of you at the Budafest parade this Dec 4th. and at the End of Year Party that Dennis has planned at Texas Land And Cattle company. If you have not contacted Dennis or Kay to let them know you are attending, please do so now. We need a pretty accurate head count. Check the article in this Newsletter about the Party. You can pay this night of the party or send the money in ahead of time. I hope that the entire Club shows up for this. Have a great December and we will see you at the Party. Dan Minutes for the November Meeting The November, 18, 2010 meeting was held North at the Raben's. Wellness report includes Pat Corbell with a continuing back problem, Jean Sellstrom scheduled to have her left carotid artery cleared of 90% blockage on November 30, and Rick Perry recovering from a truck accident. Both the minutes from the October meeting and the treasurer's report were accepted. Lonestar 30 will be held on May 4-6, 2010 at the Embassy Suites in San Marcos (San Marcos convention center). Stop by and see the facilities. The couch project is progressing. Superior in Houston is chrome plating the bumper for free. The Christmas Party and December meeting will be held on Sunday, December 12th from 6:00-9:00 at Texas Land & Cattle at Lakeline & 183. The cost is $15.00 each for the meal. The club will pick up above $15.00 for dinner excluding alcohol. There will be a choice between beef and chicken for the entree. Each person who wants to participate in the gift exchange should bring a gift valued under $ Kay Bowen is collecting the meal payments. Ballots for the Larry Igo award and the Preservation award were collected. Winners will be announced at the Christmas party. Nominations were taken for officers. Kay Bowen will replace Barb/Joel Parish as Treasurer and Christy Potthoff will replace Lynda Rankin as Secretary. Dan Bowen will remain President, Jim Rankin as Vice President, Wes Campbell, Webmaster, and Dennis Zwernemann as Activities Director until a replacement steps forward. Check the website for upcoming events. Wes will begin featuring a car of the month on the website. 50/50 winner of $37.00 was Joel Parish. Joel also won a $25.00 gift card to Sonic. Craig Potthoff won a '50s CD. Submitted by Lynda Rankin Christmas Party The CTCCC annual Christmas Party will be held on Sunday, Dec. 12 from 6-9 PM at Texas Land & Cattle Steak House at N US Hwy 183 near Lakeline Mall. 2

3 Meal selection will be a choice of steak, chicken or salmon. There will also be a choice of two desserts. Dinner and dessert selection will be made at the restaurant. The cost is $15 for each member payable to our treasurer. If a member desires an alcoholic beverage, the restaurant will keep an individual bar tab for that member. The member is responsible for paying for their bar tab. The club will not pay for any alcoholic drinks. It is imperative that members contact Dan, Kay, Joel Parish or me no later than Wednesday, Dec. 8 if you plan to attend. The club must provide the number of attendees to the restaurant. The restaurant will only plan for the number we provide them. I can be reached at (512) or (512) Dennis From Jean Sellstrom As mentioned in the minutes, Jean had her left carotid artery cleared of 90% blockage on November 30. I came home yesterday afternoon about 2 pm. I look like I had been down on E. 6th Street and got into a knife fight - my neck looks a mess...and, I it is rather swollen, but they said to put ice packs on it to take down the swelling. I did not do too well after surgery. I was in Recovery for around 3 hours, then they brought me to my room. I was SO OUT OF IT - due to medications...and, so sleepy. Liz, my daughter had to try to feed me a few bites of food...which stayed down - believe it or not! I feel MUCH better now, after I got home yesterday I took a nap...( the night at the hospital was long and terrible - I had so much apparatus hanging on both arms and both legs - and, my back hurt - I could not turn over... I thought they had dropped me after the surgery or something. Maybe it was from lying on so long on the "table". Anyway, I could feel all the prayers working...i was so upset ever since I found out about the artery problem...but, I was very calm it seemed when I got to the hospital on Monday for the tests...and, then, on Tuesday for the operation. Thanks for all the prayers from people far and wide. Even across the GLOBE. I think I can make it now...i have a very good Nurse - Jim can do everything: cook, clean, etc. He tells me to just sit around and get well. 7 Picture From Back In The Day Please excuse the personal reference, but my best friend (center) from Jr. high on, surprised me yesterday by sending me this picture of us and our cars taken in Too bad the guy on the right didn t have a 56, but at least it is a Chevy. That 57 wiped out many challengers from all around Saturday nights at the local (unofficial) drag strip. 7
