Are you getting excited about the Fair? The committee sure is. So much work is going in to bringing you a fantastic day on October 21. The rides are going to be fantastic. The food stalls and the market stalls are really varied and full of interesting things to look at and buy on the day. Remember you can tell your friends to come along, it s not just for the kids, it s for the whole community. Friday is a big day this week! Two fair related actions for families 1/ Pre-purchase to save time and money Buy your All Day Ride wristbands and your pre-purchase food vouchers by Friday. We have left the Trybooking site open this week because of school holidays. It must close on Friday to give the Fair team time to collate all the wristbands and vouchers for collection next week. 2/ Last minute raffle ticket sales. The raffle sales have been going really well, but now is the time for a last minute push. Any ticket is still a winner! Can you please finalise all ticket sales by Thursday to have the raffle books, unsold tickets and cash back to the front office or your teacher by this Friday 13 th October. The cake stall, other stalls and ways you can help A reminder that we need cakes, slices, tarts etc. for sale at the cake stall on the day. You can buy or make a cake. Cake Packs were sent home on Tuesday with the eldest child but if you need, more they are available from the office. Please bring them in on Friday 20 October and leave them in the Performing Arts Room or on fair day before 10am. In previous years, the Cake Stall has often had a few very grand cakes to raffle off which has proven to be a significant contribution to fundraising on the day. If we have any extraordinary master bakers in our midst wiling to create a masterpiece, please step forward now! We would love to perhaps see a Gingerbread house, Halloween Feature cake or Super Hero themed cake available for raffle on the day. If you have any more time to spare on the Friday or Sunday to help us get set up or clean up please let Honor Kelly know at kels316@gmail.com Get ready for an amazing jam stall at the fair yum! For the last 6 months, the 1A and 1K Mums have been very busy beavers! They have made over 1200 jars of yummy jams, sauces, dressings and preserves. Mondays for the last few months in the OSH Club have definitely been more aromatic than usual, as that has been action central. Some days it has been savoury and others the sweet smell of Jam simmering away.

2 We know the Jam Stall will be very popular! If you want to get in early, the kind stallholders will hold large purchases that are paid for until 5pm. Great for those who are working on another stall or don t want to lug around 13 jars of jam whilst you watch your angel on the rides, come and buy early and then leave it them! The fantastic menu Sauces: Tomato Sauce (Ketchup Style), Butterscotch Chilli Sauce (Mild and Hot) Relishes: Tomato, Zucchini, Cauliflower, Jams: Strawberry, Raspberry, Fruit of the Forest, Mango Chilli Dressing: Poppy seed. Plus a sample pack - 4 small jars of different products - a perfect last minute small Christmas present. Fair Talent Show Talent Show performers are ready to rock at Fair! There will be dancing, singing and some unique acts as well as the IEPS Spectacular Choir and Strings Ensemble. There will be two final rehearsals Friday lunchtime - this Friday (13/10) for non dancers and next Friday (20/10) for dancers. Come with your music/equipment and as much of your costume as you can. 3 Principal s Notes Justine Mackey Welcome to Term 4 Welcome back to Term 4 which is set to be full of excitement and we are looking forward to celebrating our community at the Fun Fair, which is being held next Saturday the 21 st October. Thank you to the Committee, class reps, teachers and all other members of the community who are working together to ensure that we all enjoy the day. Please pay special attention to the Fun Fair information provided in today s Bulletin Planning Please advise us as soon as possible if you know your child will not be attending Ivanhoe East Primary School next year. Also if you would like to share any information or concerns regarding your child s placement for 2018 please put it in writing to Justine Mackey by Friday 27th October. Please note that while we take any information that you provide into consideration, the final decisions regarding your child s placement rest with the teaching staff and leadership team. Justine Mackey. MUSIC NEWS Senior Choir - New Members Welcome Senior choir is inviting any new interested students to join. Rehearsing on Thursdays at lunch time in the Music Room all year 3, 4, 5 and 6 students are welcome. We are singing at the fair and would love to have new singers. Fair Performance Details This year Senior Choir and the IEPS Strings Ensemble will be performing at the Fair on Saturday October 21 st. If you are involved in one of the above groups details of times will be passed out very soon. Most likely they will be performing close to the start of the fair at 12:00 midday. Remember to attend rehearsals to prepare for this great event. We look forward to performing for our friends, family and local community. If you have any questions, come and see me or reply to this Year One and Two Student String Concert On Tuesday the 24 th October at 3pm, some of our string students will be performing to the prep and year one students. This is to showcase our string program for The short concert will be in the Preforming Arts Room. Everyone invited to the IEPS String Soiree on November 23 rd Our annual String Soiree will take place in the Performing Arts Room on Thursday the 23 rd November. You don t have be learning a string instrument or be a family member of a string student to attend. Everyone is welcome. This is a great opportunity for students interested in starting a string instrument in 2018 to see what playing violin, viola and cello is all about. We are especially looking for new cello and viola students. 4 Danaher s Mitre 10 Lets support our local hardware store by shopping for your DIY products at Danaher s. That also donate 5% to IEPS if you use the blue community card or if you don t have one on you just let them know you d like your points to go to IEPS.
