1 October 13 The following colleges will have a representative in the building to talk to interested students: Ohio Northern University on Tuesday, Oct 14 th 1 st period Please sign up at the guidance office if you wish to see any of these representatives. The Forestry Field Day sponsored by the Shelby Soil and Water Conservation District will be held on Sunday from 1:00 until 4:00 at the Lorma Baber farm and woods near Maplewood. There will be many activities scheduled and refreshments will be available. See the sign outside the office for more information. Cross-Country: The high school boys finished second at the Shelby County Athletic League. Lucas Huber finished fifth, Tyler McKee was 9th, Joel Gaier was 13th, Luke Gaier 14th, Brad Axe 15th, and Jonathan Berning 29th and Korash Assani 30th. The high school girls finished 4th. Jennifer Robinson was 10th, Bonnie Alstaetter was 23rd, Jennifer Larger 24th, Gracen Rogers 25th, Nicole Smith was 31st, Ashley Littlefield 38th, and Mindy Schmitmeyer 41st. 2 Junior High Cross-Country: The junior high boys finished fifth as a team. Cameron Bowersock was 10th, Jacob Osborne 24th, Caleb Gaier 30th, Caleb Baughman 39th, Charles Furgeson 48th, Isaac Rindler 49th, and Sam Harshbarger 54th. Molly Bachelder was 30th in the junior high girls race. There will be an FCCLA meeting for all MS FCCLA members during 5C (Advisor) this Friday in Mrs. Wuebker's room. The first lego robotics meeting for those who signed up will be on Wednesday after school until 4:30. Be sure to have your ride lined up to pick you up outside the middle school doors at that time. The selection process for this year's Science Olympiad team has begun. A list of the students who made the team will be posted outside Mr. Maurer's room at 8:00 A.M. on Wednesday morning. Mr. Maurer wants to thank the 67 students who tried out this year! Both volleyball teams won their tournament games on Saturday and will return to Fairlawn tonight for the SCAL Championship games. The 7 th grade will play at 6:00 and the 8 th grade will play at 7:00. Good luck girls! Forestry Field Day is coming-up on Sunday, Oct. 19 th fro 1-4:00 at the Lorma Baber Farm and Woods in Maplewood. The event is free and is expected to the largest it has ever been. So stop out and enjoy a day of walking through the woods, watching chainsaw sculpting and wood carving, plus much, much more. They will have food and refreshments as well. There are way too many students still in the hallway after class has started. Teachers will be assigning consequences if you are late. Keep in mind, in HS you have much farther to travel and only have 3 min between class bells. Also, you are not to carry backpacks or slingbags during the school-day. The only exception is 8th period if you have a long distance to travel from you locker and you are a bus rider. If students do not follow these directions, no one will be allowed to carry them or leave class at 3:08. Staff: we have our carry-in today, so please be sure to have your dish in the lounge by 10:45.
