Attention students in grades 7-9 who are interested in trying out for the Science Olympiad Team There will be a short sign-up meeting in room #201 from 7:55-8:10 on Wednesday morning. Cross-Country: The high school boys cross-country team finished second at the 30 team Anna Invitational. Lucas Huber was 10th, Luke Gaier 12th, Tyler McKee 22nd, Brad Axe 32nd, Joel Gaier 38th, Jonathan Berning 84th, and Kyle Christman 117th. The high school girls team finished 10th, Jennifer Robinson was 30th, Jenna Harshbarger 55th, Jennifer Larger 95th, Nicole Smith 103rd, Gracen Rogers 118th, Ashley Littlefield 141st, and Mindy Schmitmeyer 150th. Cameron Bowersock was 23rd, Jacob Osborne 58th, Caleb Gaier 59th, Caleb Baughman 90th, Issac Rindler 95th, and Charles Furgeson 104th, Molly Bachelder finished 60th in the junior high girls race. 7 The 8th grade has been preparing for their trip to Washington D.C. While at our nation s capital, the students will attend a Wreath Ceremony at Arlington s National Cemetery s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. While there, selected students will lay the wreath and carry the flag. All 8th grade students wrote essay for the selection process and the winners are: Wreath: Emma Meyer, Abby Counts, Lexi Wells, Claire Bensman Flag: Lindsey Barhorst, Tyler Zimpfer Congratulations to these students for receiving this honor and for keeping the faith of America s missing serviceman. 7th Grade beat Delphos St. Johns Riley Huelskamp had a rushing touchdown and a Punt Return for a Touchdown. Ian Bolheimer had 2 rushing touchdowns. Kameron Steward had a Rushing Touchdown and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. The 8th grade also beat Delphos Bradley Haynes had 3 rushing touchdowns and Seth Roe had 2 rushing touchdowns. Andrew Scully had an interception and a rushing touchdown. Attention: Any student interested in joining the Lego Robotics team, please see Mrs. Hemmelgarn today. The SC is sponsoring a school dance this Friday from 7-9:30 in the auxillary gym. The cost of the dance is $5.00. Please remember that all school rules apply, even the dress code. Also, we will not let students in until 7:00 so do not arrive early. Same goes for pick-up all students must have a ride here by 9:30. Good Luck to our volleyball teams as they travel to Fairlawn tomorrow for tournament play. The 7th grade plays at 10:00 and 8th grade at 11:00. Good Luck to our Cross Country teams as they travel to Botkins tomorrow for a meet starting at 10:00. Forestry Field Day is coming-up on Sunday, Oct. 19th fro 1-4:00 at the Lorma Baber Farm and Woods in Maplewood. The event is free. So stop out and enjoy a day of walking through the woods, watching chainsaw sculpting and wood carving, plus much, much more. They will have food and refreshments as well. Detentions tonight will be held in Mrs. Powell s classroom from 3:15-4:15. We have a PSA from our 6th grade Wellness class.
