On November 14th the Scotties held a open house for people to pick up their ticket packages, meet curling legend Kim Kelly, take a picture with Scotties trophy, and see Santa! Out of 16 she has won 5 and is second behind Colleen Jones and Jennifer Jones for the most Scotties titles. Kim is vying to win the province of Nova Scotia this year with teammates and turn her 16 Scotties appearances to 17! 3

4 October 2019 Edition 2 Media Day! On November 15th the Scotties held a media day at the Sydney Curling Club. Local media, media partners, and sponsors of the tournament came out and got a lesson in curling from four celebrity instructors including Kim Kelly, Christina Black, Robin Nathanson, and Kurt Roach. Our Vice Chairs also discussed how excited and ready Sydney is to host the 2019 Scotties. Below are some photos from the event! Your kit includes your volunteer pin, accreditation pass, volunteer handbook, and volunteer uniform.

The dates are February 16 to February 24, 2019, at Centre 200! To participate, we would need them to be available afternoons and evenings.

6 Event Updates KIT PICK-UP - SAVE THE DATE Your 2019 Scotties volunteer uniforms have been ordered and will be ready to be picked up January 17th at Centre 200! There will be more details to come closer to the date! Your kit includes your volunteer pin, accreditation pass, volunteer handbook, and volunteer uniform. ANTHEM SINGERS We are looking for bilingual singers to sing our National Anthem at various draws. The dates are February 16 to February 24, 2019, at Centre 200! To participate, we would need them to be available afternoons and evenings. If you are interested or know of anyone, please send an audition clip to scottiessingers2018@gmail.com! Spread the word! COMMITTEE AND SCHEDULING By now you should be informed by which committee you will be a part of at the 2019 Scotties! Any questions surrounding your committee can be answered by your director.
