The Calendar on the wall says it s almost April 15th. As I look out my window, I notice a lot less activity and not nearly as many smiling faces or waves. I d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the help on all the various activities. Give yourselves a well deserved pat on the back. You ve really done a great job. Have a wonderful summer. Stay healthy, travel safely and we ll see you in the fall. Debbie Jam Sessions The Jam Session will now take place on Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. All are welcome to come play, sing, or just listen. The Jam Session will continue into the summer. Gaslight Theatre The Curse of the Pirates Gold or Laughs by the Galleon There s romance and adventure a-plenty as the buccaneers search the Spanish Main for the Lost Pirate s Treasure. Our merry pirate band encounters sea-shanties and rip-roaring action as The Captain and his mateys tirelessly try to avoid the infamous dreaded curse as they go in search of The Pirate s Gold! Join us for one last adventure to the Gaslight Theatre before you board your Pirate Ship and take off for the summer. We will be taking in a Saturday afternoon Matinee on April 9th. Show starts at 3:00 pm and the doors open at 2:15 pm. Tickets are $16.00 and are available in the Activity Office. Sign up early as tickets will go fast.

3 Omelette Brunch We always have an Easter Brunch in April and just because Easter is the last weekend in April doesn t mean we can t have a PRE Easter Brunch. So come on down and celebrate Easter with us at 11:00am on Thursday, April 14th. We will all meet in the Auditorium for omelette s and mimosa s. As in past years, Dave Peterson (the Pizza Man), yes, Dave himself, will return to RCE to cook made to order omelettes. The menu will consist of omelettes, danish, coffee, orange juice and mimosas. Tickets are $6.50 for adults and $4.00 for children under 12. If you plan on bringing your grandchildren to the brunch, please add their name to the sign up sheet in the Activity Office. Deadline to purchase your ticket is Wednesday, April 13th at 12:00 noon. Free Movie You Again A high-powered PR professional discovers that her brother is about to marry the woman who made her high school life a living hell. Back in her teens, Marni (Bell) was a little awkward. These days she s a successful career woman, but the memories of being tormented by popular cheerleader Joanna (Yustman) still make her break into a cold sweat. Flying home for her brother Will s wedding, Marni realizes to her horror that she will soon be sister-in-law to the pompom-wielding mean girl who once humiliated her in front of the entire student body. Burley Boys A Heartfelt Goodbye To all my friends and former residents, it has been a real pleasure for the past five years working as your gate person and mail man. It saddens me to be leaving Rincon Country East, but I am looking forward to my new life with Kathy and living in Naalehu, Hawaii. Are you Burley Boy material? The Burley Boys are seeking more men to help with their activities. These wonderful gentlemen are in charge of setting up the Auditorium for all activities held there. Anyone who might be interested in helping with this very necessary job should contact Dick Bernius at Site #202 ( ). FYI I wish you all well and thank you for your friendship. 4 Visiting Grandchildren Thank You Burly Boys Oh my Angels from Heaven. How I love these men. They always take time out of their busy schedules to go down to the Auditorium at all hours of the day or night and set up or tear down, (which ever the case may be), the tables and chairs to get the Auditorium ready for the next function. This is no easy task as sometimes the room needs to be transformed as many as 3 or 4 times a week. I can always tell how hard it will be to set up and tear down by the look on Dick s face when I give him the monthly calendar with the seating schedule. These Burly Boys are always available and ever ready. The never complain or seek praise, they are but a few of the unsung heroes of our Rincon Country family. They make everything run just a little smoother. For this reason I give a huge Thank You to all of the wonderful Burly Boys for all you do. You are amazing and we could never do it without you. Debbie Farewell Dance The Farewell Dance for this season will be held on Thursday, April 7th at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium with music to be played by everyone s favorite band, Two s Company. This will be the final dance for the season so come on down and get your dance on. BYOB and snacks. Beer, soda and ice will be provided. As always, tickets can be purchased in the Activity Office at a cost of $6.00. Tickets can also be purchased at the door at an increased price. 4 Grandchildren over the age of 3 years are welcome to the Park and may use the pool facilities between the hours of 12:00 pm through 4:00 pm on March 20th through May 1st, They may also use the other facilities during these days. As always, children must be supervised and accompanied at all times, by the resident. All guests should be registered in the Office. A Very Special Thank You ou At this time of the year when you are getting ready to return to your summer homes I am planning our next season of fun filled events. While planning all of the yearly events I need to consider all of the facets of each event and all of the volunteers that will be needed to make each event a success. Volunteers are always needed and are a very valuable commodity. I cannot stress to each and every volunteer who helped this season how much I appreciate everything you have done no matter how big or how small. You have helped to make this season the success that it was. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I have been truly blessed to have all of you. Debbie Speed Limit Please remember that the speed limit is 10 mph throughout the park. People driving, walking and riding bikes are all asked to please be aware of your surroundings. Don t walk or ride your bike down the middle of the streets. Please think safety first, drive the speed limit. Thank you.

5 From the Office As the weather warms (and stays that way) many begin looking toward summer retreats. My daughter and I are planning on leaving the hot weather behind and vacationing in Cotacachi, Ecuador. We will return before you all get back to RCE. It has been a fantastic season and we have met and made even more new friends. We appreciate you and would like to invite you to remember the RAF (Refer A Friend) program that can earn you a credit on your account from $20 to $100 and more! If you aren t familiar with the program, stop by the office and we would be happy to give you the brochure and answer any questions you might have. Residents leaving for the summer may allow an RCE resident to park on their space while they are gone. This is allowed only IF the paperwork is filled out in the office and a permit is issued. Please do not just park anywhere tickets will be issued if the correct permit is not displayed. If an event is planned on your patio, you may park briefly at either the complex (down from the office and by the post office and pool) or on the wash. When preparing to leave for the summer we would like to remind you of several things: 1. It is advisable to leave a key to your unit with the office. This is in case there is a problem with water leakage, smoke alarm, etc. that might occur while you are absent. 4. If you do not want to generate an electric bill during the summer, be sure to unplug your unit from the electric pedestal. 5. To prevent water pipes breaking you may consider turning the water off to your unit and draining your pipes. 6. RCE will do your weeding if you have no caretaker listed, at a $75.00 charge as needed. 7. Hand in the white sheet indicating if you have a washer and your departure date. May you all have a wonderful summer and we will see you when you get back! Frick (Joan), Frack (Mary), Flack (Joy), and The Funmeister (Debbie) Singles Potluck Please join us in the Rec. Hall for our monthly singles potluck. The potluck is held on the first Monday of each month through out the year. Dinner is at 4:30. We also have a 50/50 raffle and play cards. If you are single, please join us for some fun on Monday, April 4th in the Rec. Hall. 2. Be sure you have a summer caretaker to take care of any weeds that might make their home around your unit, and that can check your unit for any damage after the monsoon storms arrive in Tucson. 3. Come to the office to get a mail forwarding card, and notify your post office back home to stop forwarding mail before you leave Rincon Country. 5

7 Rincon Ringers Horseshoes We had a great time at the horseshoe pits this season. Skip Kapolka & Harold Tritz teamed up to win the doubles title and Skip also won the singles title. Our annual picnic was a huge success, thanks to Wayne and his crew. Hank Greenwaldt went undefeated at our tournament to take the top prize Thanks to everyone for all the help we had this season.
