1 Employee Cookout The annual employee cookout was held Thursday, May 10th and was a huge success, as always. Employees donated a total of $330 in cash and four boxes of non-perishable food items to support the Cedar Hill Food Pantry. To access pictures of the employee cookout, please visit the City s shared drive 2012 photos Employee Cookout May Special thanks to: City Management and City Council for allowing the event. Parks staff for setting up and breaking down the tables and chairs. Our Chefs: Fire Chief Ballard, Police Chief Rhodes, Assistant Police Chief Thompson, and Fire Marshal Randy Jordan. Employee of the Quarter Nominations for employee of the 4th Quarter are due! Nomination forms are available on the intranet and City share drive. Please return nominations to HR for consideration no later than Wednesday, June 27th. The employee selected as Employee of the Quarter will receive a $50 gift card and a half day off with pay. 2 Animal Shelter The Animal Shelter now has a Facebook page! Check it out for current events along with information on the pet of the week. Dorothea Baffour was recently promoted to a full time position at the Shelter, taking Tia Rich s position (who transferred to Utility Billing). A heartfelt thanks goes out to all of the shelter staff for making the May 5 th Adopt A Thon a successful event! Congratulations to Ian Coleman, who graduated high school in June and also received his Associate s Degree in May! Fire Department Human Resources Dorinda Rupert is a proud member of the Fire Belles. Every other month, the fire secretaries from the surrounding cities meet for lunch to discuss fire department issues. The Fire Belles were started years ago by Dorinda and the now retired secretary from Duncanville, Diane West. Come and go, July 31st from 2 pm - 4 pm at the Central Fire Station for snow cones! Schedule vigorous activity during the parts of the day. 8. Prevent heat rash by wearing loose. 9. Promptly seek attention if a victim does not recover from heat stress. 10.
