3 Physical, HIPA, and Medical Athletes must have Physical on file to be able to practice If your child has already participated in a sport here at RJH this school year then their physical is still good for track Athletes must have all HIPA paperwork completed by first meet (April 12 th ) If your child had medical concerns (allergies ect ) please see us after the meeting.

5 Water Have athletes bring water bottle to drink during school and fill up for practice We appreciate water donations

6 Team Rules Team Rules are posted on RJH website Each athlete received a handout with the rules

7 Uniforms We have new uniforms this season $15 for singlet fee and equipment replacement fee Tops will be rented out to athletes $10 replacement fee if singlet is lost. Team shorts will cost $15 (get to keep the shorts) $30 check can be made our to Riverside Junior High to cover both cost.

8 Shoes/Spikes Please make sure your athlete has the correct shoes. There are different shoes for each type of event. Running stores usually can be very helpful with this. Spikes are not mandatory but can be helpful. Again, there are different types of spikes for different events as well.

9 Team Apparel Long sleeve shirt is mandatory. ($18) Jacket and pants are optional. Orders are due by midnight Sunday, April 1st. All payments are made on website

10 Practice Mondays: Students will stay after school and have a study hall in the cafeteria until coaches are out of meetings. Pickup will be at 4:45 behind the building. Tuesday-Friday we will practice until 4:30 unless we have a meet or told otherwise. Pick up is in the back of the building.

11 Schedule: First meet April 12 th at Carmel Middle School Schedule can be found on Riverside Junior High Website (click athletics at top then go to Track and Field page)

12 Meet Days Away Meets- Athletes will stay after in the gymnasium with the coaches. Athletes are expected to work on homework and will not be allowed to wander the building. (Not every athlete will travel to away meets) We expect athletes to ride the bus home. If your athlete HAS to ride home with you you need to Coach Ogle, Coach Conway, and Mr. Mozingo. Home Meets- Each event coach will communicate whether they want athletes staying after, or what time the athletes will need to report back to school. Staying after in the gym will always be an option if need be for home meets. Athletes need to tell coaches if they are leaving before the end of the meet. Athletes are encouraged to stay to cheer on teammates but may leave once they are finished with their last event if they need to.

14 Watches NOT Mandatory but advised (for distance) Cheap watch, does not need to be GPS

15 Injuries There is a difference between being sore and being injured If your child is too hurt to participate, they cannot attend practice (unless told otherwise by a coach) Liability for them not to be with us. We are NOT doctors, we cannot diagnose your child s pain We will have a trainer on sight on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every other Friday. The trainer will be at every home meet as well.
