3 VET S PLEDGE UPDATE AUG. 09 / 17. Congratulations to Tonya Maidment, site 243. She is the lucky winner of the Sorrel / Columbia ladies winter coat. Lavender Tea Bread 3/4 cup milk 3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh lavender 6 tablespoons butter, softened 1 cup white sugar 2 eggs 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan. Combine the milk and lavender in a small saucepan over medium heat. Heat to a simmer, then remove from heat, and allow to cool slightly. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg until the mixture is light and fluffy. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk and lavender until just blended. Pour into the prepared pan. Bake for 50 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a wooden pick inserted into the crown of the loaf comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a wire rack. She will be returning to Fanshawe College in the fall for her second year of Early Childhood Education. Tamara enjoys crafting with children and providing a fun environment for all ages. OPEN - THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY AND MONDAY MORNING SESSION 9:30 AM 12 NOON AFTERNOON SESSION - 1 PM 4 PM For all children to have a positive experience at the program, parental responsibilities are as follows: Please sign your child in Please leave an emergency contact name & number for your child Children three (3) years of age & under must be accompanied by an adult at all times Please adhere to the posted times for start up and pick up The craft room can only accommodate children with one coordinator (daycare environment ratio is 1:8) we are sorry that your child may be turned away, we are required to provide a safe environment for all the children If you are prepared to stay with your child when we have reached the limit for the number of children that can safely participate, this is perfectly acceptable The program will accommodate all children who wish to do arts & crafts, read & play! 6 Mat s Message of the Week I ask that all Members be vigilant in keeping their speeds down and watching out for the youngsters who usually have their minds elsewhere, and not paying attention. It has been noticed by myself and the office staff that a number of visitors to the park are not taking the time to come into the office and sign in, when the office is open. They rather wait blocking traffic into the park and wait for a member to come let them in. Most times trying to run the gate as another vehicle is entering or exiting. This has to stop. It takes no time to come and sign in, and there is no cost to them, unless they are visiting a renter. By the time a member comes to the gate, your visitors could be in the park on the way to the members site, before the member arrives at the gate. Also if an emergency were to occur, we have no record of who is here in the park. Members who rent out your sites, please make sure the proper paperwork is up in the office. We have had a significant amount of renters this year, and have had nothing in the office saying what site they are staying at, and when I have to go visit them due to an infraction, I would like to be able to address them by name not a Hey You. These are simple procedures to follow, so please help myself and the office staff out. Have a great weekend.
