Targets Our Project In this project work, we want to be able to make our mascot and logo. to feel confident when we present in front of our friends. to work well with our friends and not to quarrel. to use what we had learnt in our project. our project selected as BEST class project.
Our Project Our Brainstorming template
Our 5 Whys Our Project A statement: The current mascot and logo of Jurong Bird Park may not attract people to visit. Why? 1. They are not colourful. Why? 2. The person in-charge at the Jurong Bird Park Why? did not choose the right bird. 3. The person in-charge did not know which birds Why? to choose. Why? 4. There are so many colourful birds to consider. 5. We must choose the correct colourful bird withwhy? good values, qualities and meanings.
Our Project 5 Chosen birds with their qualities, values and meanings 1. Humming It was chosen because it is the second smallest bird bird in the world. 2. Bee It is the smallest bird in the world. As we could not humming decide which to choose, we placed both into our bird survey. 3. Penguin It is a flightless bird that can swim in water as its wings act as a pair of flippers. 4. Flamingo It was selected because it is a beautiful and elegant bird as well as it has the ability to stand on one leg. 5. Eagle It has sharp eyes and can fly high up in the sky as well as it is a bird of prey.
Our Project Our Decision Making template
Our Project Our Criteria Setting
Our Project Our survey Type of birds Flamingo Eagle Penguin Hummingbird Bee Hummingbird Number of stickers
Problems and solutions Some of the challenges were: we did not have good ideas. we did not know how to make our penguin. we did not know how the logo should look like. we could not remember what to say for presentation. We solved them by: looking at examples of mascot in the WHIZZ room and internet. asking our teacher for ideas to make the penguin. looking at how other logos look like from internet. write down what we want to say and practice many times.
Project Result
Project Results Achievements We are able to make our mascot and logo. We feel confident when we present in front of our friends. Our classmates like our presentation very much. They clapped loudly for us. We are confident when we present because we had practiced many times. We worked well together and did not quarrel. We learnt together too. We learnt about Brainstorming, Decision Making, Evaluation and 6 Thinking Hats. We used them in our project. We also make our own PowerPoint presentation. Through this project, we also learnt teamwork and never give up. Our project is selected as the BEST class project.
Our School Vision Vision Be Critical Thinkers Be Motivated Learners Be the Leaders of Characters We know how to apply the thinking skills taught by our teachers We can help motivate next year P2 pupils to do projects like ours We learn to show respect to one another when working together. We should not scold our friends.
Our Reflections I learnt to not give up easily, have patient and teamwork. I used to think that I could not work with my group members, but now I love them. ~Rui Zhe I learnt to take turns when doing this project group work and never give up. I used to think that I could not really think of ideas but now I can do it. ~Shannon
Our Reflections I learnt not to give up easily and take turns to do work. I used to think that I could not tear scotch tape properly but through this project I can do it well. ~ Haziq I learnt not to be selfish, do take turns to do things and be considerate. I used to think that I cannot draw and colour well but now I can do it confidently. ~Nigel
Our Reflections I learnt to be cooperative with my group members. I used to think that I cannot cut well as my hands tend to wobble but now I can do it. ~ Kogul
Moving Forward We would like to: Use more recycled things to do the project instead of buying new papers. Can further improve on our mascot if we have more time. Make a robot to wear the mascot. Create Children size mascot for visitors.
