1 Women can join Territorial Army : HC Women can now join the Territorial Army. Delhi High Court quashed the Centre's advertisements excluding them from being recruited. A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar ordered this decision. It declared that 'any person' mentioned in section 6 of the Territorial Army Act, 1948 "includes both males as well as females". DEFENSE Bengal unveils official State emblem West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee unveiled the official emblem of the state government. This was approved by the centre in January The logo highlights the Ashoka emblem on the top with the theme of "Biswa Bangla" at the centre. Chief Minister has also contributed its design. Constitution Bench to look at adultery law A 3 judge Bench led by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra announced to reconsider its past decisions on adultery law. The Supreme Court asked constitution Bench a petition to decide if the pre-independence provision of adultery in the Indian Penal Code treats a married woman as a commodity owned by her husband or not.
