1 FÉDÉRATION INTERNATIONALE DE GYMNASTIQUE The ACRO Newsletter Nr 36 By Tonya Case Acro TC 1 st Vice president/ Acting President of the Acrobatic Gymnastics Technical Committee FIG Office Moutier (SUI), The FIG Acrobatic Gymnastics Technical Committee met from January 25 27, 2007 in Dobiegniew Poland. The agenda covered a wide range of topics including the Code of Points and Tables of Difficulty for the next cycle, the rule of the CJP and Superior Jury in competition, and discussion about the upcoming events in Belgium. Much appreciation from the TC ACRO to Mr. Boguslaw Sulkowski, the President of the Polish Sports Acrobatics Federation, for his wonderful hospitality in the very beautiful palace hotel of Mierzecin. Specials thanks to all our friends from the Polish Federation who joined us for a formal dinner on the last evening. Thank you also to our Technical Committee member from Poland, Konrad Zielinski and his wife Gizela for taking care of all our needs during the meetings. We enjoyed a weekend of hard work, friendship, and snow! Evaluation of Elements. The TC finalized the evaluation of all the new elements requests that were received by the deadline, 1 st of November, These elements are published as part of this newsletter. If ID #s are not indicated in the supplement, and the new elements are used in competition, they should be identified as SP 07, for Supplement Pairs, ST 07 for Supplement Trios, SF 07 for Supplement Fours, and SI 07 for Supplement Individual Elements. The new elements will be included in the Tables of Difficulty for the next cycle, Edition The new Supplement contains some corrections to values found in the current Tables of Difficulty. Where differences exist between the new Supplement and the current Tables, the difficulty values in the Supplement are to be used. New Element Evaluations: The TC ACRO kindly requests that Federations submit all new elements for evaluation for BOTH the supplement February 2008 and for the revised Tables of Difficulty for the new cycle ( ) to the TC Secretary Rosy Taeymans at rosy.acro@skynet.be by June 1 st, The TC evaluation of new elements will take place during our meeting in August The new elements will be published in February 2008, and will be included in the Tables of Difficulty Edition The TC ACRO also welcomes any suggestions for corrections to the current Tables of Difficulty by June 1 st, Code of Points : The TC ACRO has started a review of the current Code of Points to determine the revisions necessary for the next cycle. We welcome proposals from all federations for the Code of Points Please submit your suggestions to the TC Secretary Rosy Taeymans by June 1 st, Rules for Tie Break correction Newsletter N 34 Tie Break from Qualifications into Finals 1) Balance and Dynamic Execution + Artistry Scores 2) The highest Execution + Artistry score from one exercise: Balance OR Dynamic 3) The highest Execution score from one exercise: Balance OR Dynamic 4) The highest Artistry score from one exercise, Balance OR Dynamic 5) If a tie still remains, both go the final. 1

Clarification TOD pg 177, table category 2 elements There is a mistake in the tumbling table. Front handspring or aerial (N 13) are NOT considere d as a salto of category 2. Aerial is a category 1 salto (N 1172). The table will be corrected in th e TOD Information for the Tables of difficulty In the Tables of Difficulty Edition 2009, the base position in men s group table 1-F 15 ( pg 120,122,124) and the base position in women s group B 1 (pg 90,91,92) will be deleted. Other elements that require extreme flexibility in pairs, trios, and fours will be deleted. This decision was made by vote of the TC Acro during the meetings which took place in Poland, and is published now so that athletes and coaches can start planning for the next cycle. All Federations will have noted the message from the FIG Acrobatic Gymnastics Technical Committee President, Dr. Patricia Wade, on the FIG website. The TC ACRO wishes to send all good thoughts to Dr. Wade for a speedy recovery.
