Ice Dance International (IDI) embraces the worlds of both ballet and figure skating with a cast of world-renowned ice dancers who bring dynamic movement, artistry, athleticism and joy to the ice.

Founded by America s voice of figure skating, Dick Button and America s most famous male ballet dancer of all time, Edward Villella, along with internationally recognized choreographer, Douglas Webster, IDI is an ice ballet company for the 21st century. Overflowing with energy, technique and exuberant choreography, IDI is building a bridge to develop figure skating as an internationally recognized art form and premiere form of skating entertainment. 3 OPPORTUNITY Ice Dance International (IDI), a 501(c)3 organization, seeks your tax deductible sponsorship for a televised special to be distributed by American Public Television for an April, 2018 release titled The World of Ice Dance International. Shot outdoors in the mountains of Sun Valley, Idaho, the program will combine the repertoire of IDI with guest appearances by stars and friends from the worlds of skating and dance. The program will offer with elegance and taste, an exciting and groundbreaking new American art form to the public television demographic. We invite you to join our IDI family with a 100% tax deductible contribution to this television project. Not only will you be supporting Ice Dance International, but you will also support the future of performance skating in America. We must work together to ensure that televised skating shows don t disappear and also that we provide high level work to world class athletes and artists after their competitive training. 4 About APT APT distributes more than 300 new program titles per year, [1] including documentaries, talk shows, dramatic and comedic series, how-to programs, children's series and classic movies. Shows currently or previously distributed by APT include, but are not limited to, The Open Mind, Rick Steves' Europe, Painting the Town with Eric Dowdle, Simply Ming, America's Test Kitchen From Cook's Illustrated and its sister series Cook's Country from America's Test Kitchen, Yan Can Cook, The Big Comfy Couch, Net Cafe, Computer Chronicles, Richard Bangs' Adventures with Purpose, Globe Trekker (aka Pilot Guides in other countries), Doc Martin, Rudy Maxa's World, Sara's Weeknight Meals and Scully: The World Show. Stuffed Animal Adventures. APT distributes weeknight international news series BBC World News and Newsline from NHK, as well as the business news program Nightly Business Report. APT has also distributed special pledge shows to public television, including programs such as Liza's at the Palace...!, Anne of Green Gables, Carreras Domingo Pavarotti, Celine Dion: A New Day, Mike Douglas Moments & Memories, Broadway: The Golden Age and Tony Bennett Duets: The Making of an American Classic. In 2001, APT was the first company to bring a high-definition series to public television with the premiere of Smart Travels with Rudy Maxa. 8 IDI CREATIVE TEAM Douglas Webster: Founder and Artistic Director: Recently, Douglas served for 3 years as the Creative Director for Steve Disson s Shall We Dance on Ice that aired on ABC TV and as Artistic Director of the Ice Theatre of New York. Douglas has choreographed for many of the major skating companies in the world including Disney on Ice, Stars on Ice, and Holiday on Ice; he serves on the board of the Young Artists Showcase and is on the staff of Grassroots to Champions. He is also the Artistic Director of Labrie Family Skate at the Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth. Edward Villella: Founder and Choreographer: Frequently cited as America s most celebrated male dancer of ballet of his time. Edward is renowned worldwide for his dramatic transformation of the male image in ballet. He was named founding artistic director of Miami City Ballet in 1985 and served in that role until In 1997, Villella was named a Kennedy Center Honors recipient, and was awarded the National Medal of Arts by President Bill Clinton. Alicia Jackson: Costume Designer : A graduate of New York s Fashion Institute of Technology, Alicia Jackson has created costumes for national and international figure skating competitors as well as ice dance productions for theater and television. A former dancer and professional skater, she has designed for Ice Dance International as well as The Next Ice Age, Ice Theatre of New York, Disson Skating, Stars on Ice, and the 2016 World Championships Opening Ceremony. The IDI costume collection has been graciously funded by Kenneth Shelley.

9 APT ProductionTeam DOUGLAS WEBSTER Creative Director and Producer SUSAN DANGEL Producer Susan Dangel is an award-winning television and film producer with over 30 years of experience in music and cultural programming. Her production repertoire includes: EVENING AT POPS, Happy Holidays with the Boston Pops, America s Orchestra, A Centennial Toast to Symphony Hall, Ann Hobson Pilot: A Harpist's Legacy, New Tanglewood Tales, A Christmas Celtic Sojourn, A Birthday Tribute to Julia Child and many other programs for PBS. Susan also produces annual film night concerts for John Williams with the Boston Symphony at the Hollywood Bowl and with many of the nation's leading orchestras. Her documentary Sharon Isbin: Troubadour was the recipient of the 2015 ASCAP Taylor Deems Award. DICK BARTLETT Editor Dick Bartlett has been a Director and editor of PBS national programs for 45 years. He is the recipient of a national Emmy for his work on The Elegant Universe with Brian Greene, a three-part series for NOVA. He has also edited many programs for American Playhouse, American Masters, American Experience and Evening at Pops. ROB FORTUNATO Director of Photography Rob Fortunato s career as a Director of Photography has spanned nearly 20 years. He is the recipient of six national Emmys, two Peabody Awards, and this year received the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for his work with 60 Minutes. Rob works as both a commercial and network DP. His latest work was as contributing DP for the film Broadway Idiot featuring the rock band Green Day.

10 ADDENDUM 3: ICE SKATING AUDIENCE DEMOGRAPHICS As a sport, figure skating has the largest fan base of females 12 and older. These fans prefer to watch skating over the NFL, MLB, NBA and college football. Figure skating has the fifth-largest fan base of people (male and female) 12 and older. (Only the NFL, MLB, NCAA football and NCAA basketball rank higher.) Figure skating ranked third in the Fan Intensity Index (percentage of fans who consider themselves avid). 65% of females over 12 consider themselves figure skating fans. 75% of women over 55 consider themselves figure skating fans. 68% of figure skating fans have college degrees. 52% of figure skating fans own a personal computer. Median household income of figure skating fans is approximately $90, % have household incomes of more than $100, % have household incomes of more than $75,000.
