The LaConner Seafood and Prime Rib Restaurant will cater the event. It will be just like our usual party but with more room to move around, more restrooms, and no stairs. Parking is on the street, or at the city lot about a block away. I have a few special parking passes for the lot next to the building, so let me know if you need one. Book: Beloved Waters Regards, Bill Keeler Horsefly Area Lakes in British Columbia: By: Tom Fulk HORSEFLY AREA LAKES IN BRITISH COLUMBIA From Sept I made my 26th annual fishing trip in British Columbia to the Horsefly area, and I suspect that it may be my last such trip. So I am writing now with an offer to provide information to a member of the Fidalago Fly Fishers. I can tell you how to get there, where to fish, where to stay, which lakes to fish, where on the lakes to fish, fly patterns, and how to fish them. Using Horsefly as a base, we have fished Wolf Track, Oslie, Hen Ingram, Keno, Klinne, Jacques, Skunk, Murdock, Ballon, Abbott, Cook, Dugan, Dewar, Simon, Elk, Jack's Hole, Patenode, Lemon, Snag, and other Lakes. Also we have floated and fished the Mitchell River, and the Horsefly River. In Sept. sockeye salmon are spawning, and large rainbows and Arctic char follow them up out of the large lakes to eat eggs. This year there was a very large salmon run. We have had some very good fishing days such as one day, one person, caught 35 fish all over 20 inches, with the largest at 28 inches. Two years ago as I was catching a 9 pound rainbow, my fishing partner caught and released a 14 pound fish. A normal fishing day involves catching fish over 20 inches per angler. One of the best things about fishing in this area is that we seldom see other anglers on the lakes we fish. A reliable 4 wheel drive truck is needed to fish here, and you will be doing a lot of driving on unmaintained logging roads. Places to stay range from a BC Forest Service campground to a new luxury 3 bedroom house on the lake shore. There is also a motel, several B and B's, and an RV park. This area has many places to fish, numerous big fish, and great scenery. It is not for the faint hearted who require paved roads and a clean truck. For detailed information, contact me.
