1 2017 Football Clean-Up Party To all Parents, Coaches and Players Welcome to the 2017 Football Season!! We will be holding our annual football clean-up party on SATURDAY, JULY 29 TH from 8:00 AM to whenever we finish. We are asking that anyone available to give a few hours of their time come to Sheaffer Field for the work party. We will be doing general field maintenance, lining the football field, placing bleachers, cleaning up press box and garage, etc. Please bring shovels, rakes, blowers, weed eaters, and anything else you may wish to use for cleaning up. We thank you in advance for your participation in this event. In years past, we have always had an exceptional turnout for this event enabling us to accomplish a great deal of clean-up activities in one single day. The more helpers we have, the easier and quicker it will be to get finished. There is no rain date at this time so we will be doing our cleanup rain or shine. 3 East Pennsboro Youth Athletic League Registration Dates Football/Cheerleading Sign-Ups 2017 Season Saturday June 17th Saturday July 15th 9:00 AM to NOON Sheaffer Field 9:00 AM to NOON Sheaffer Field Registration Fees: (How Registration Works) At the time you register your child, you will be required to pay $75.00 for each child. Upon payment of this fee, you will receiver 25 raffle tickets for registration of one child or 40 raffle tickets per family. The cost of each ticket is $1.00. The tickets you sell will offset your initial registration fees. You keep the money for each ticket sold. You turn in only the stubs to EPYAL. Remember that you sell the tickets; you keep the money and only turn in the ticket stubs. FUND RAISING The EPYAL fundraiser generates most of the funds needed to run EPYAL. All football players and cheerleaders do two fundraisers during the season. Participation in both fundraisers is mandatory. You will have the option to buy out this year for the fundraisers. Both fundraisers this year will be a sub sale and if you want to choose the buyout it will be $30 for each one. When registration is due is when you will need to decide whether or not you are participating in the fundraisers or doing the buyouts. Both buyouts will be $60. (this is per family). Dear Parents, The 2017 Football Season marks the 68 th year of midget football in East Pennsboro. We strive to teach the fundamentals of football, sportsmanship and character in a healthy and competitive environment. Only with your support and cooperation can we have a truly successful program. In order to inform the parents/guardians of our program, how it operates (as well as to answer any questions you may have about the program); we have scheduled a parents meeting, Wednesday, August 9 th at 7:00 PM. Team Eligibility Ages as of 4/30 Maximum Weight - stripped Pee Wee 6-9 years old 105 lbs. Pony years old 130 lbs. Midget years old 160 lbs. Physical exams will be given by our team physician at the EPYAL field Thursday July 27th. This is a one time physical provided by EPYAL. There may be a $5.00 charge for this physical. Those missing this physical night are required to arrange for their own physical. No athletes may practice until they have undergone a complete physical examination NO EXCEPTIONS. Anyone who registered online, this is the day they need to turn in their money & forms. Practice the first practice for Pee Wee s, Ponies and Midgets is Monday, July 31 st at 5:00 PM at Sheaffer Field. Absence should be reported to the respective head coach. T-shirts, shorts, athletic supporter, socks and football shoes (see below) or sneakers should be worn the first night of practice. Football Shoes All players must provide their own football shoes. Shoes must be BLACK and have screw on or molded cleats. Screw on cleats should be no longer than ½ inch with NO METAL TIPS. They may contain white stripes/marked insignias. No metal cleats are allowed. Facilities Sheaffer Field is used for practices. Equipment is stored in the locker rooms at the field. We ask that spectators o the practices remain in the spectator areas. DO NOT come onto the practice fields. Players are not allowed to bring candy and soda to practices or into the locker rooms. 5 East Pennsboro Youth Athletic League (EPYAL) CODE OF CONDUCT The scope and purpose of the EPYAL Code of Conduct is to promote positive sportsmanship with core principles including Respect, accountability, integrity and diversity. All participants shall be courteous and treat all people, players, coaches and officials in a manner that reflects fair, kind and considerate behaviors. Participants shall follow the defined rules of EPYAL and the participating league. Participants shall demonstrate supportive behaviors and be responsible for actions and results in regards to children, facilities and equipment. All participants shall understand the value the differences between people in a positive manner and must exercise self control and discipline when faced with conflicts and differences. ALL PARTICIPANTS/PLAYERS/COACHES/PARENTS/SPECTATORS MUST: Not use drugs/alcohol before or during games or practices. Not use tobacco products on any EPYAL, Township or school properties. Not use profanity. Not engage in physical or verbal altercations. Not engage in taunting. Not throw equipment or abuse property. Not get ejected from games. Stay in designated areas during games. Parents are encouraged to be in spectator areas and players are encouraged to be on the field or bench area. Be mindful that this organization is for CHILDREN. PARENTS MUST: Conduct yourself in a manner which promotes positive behaviors and sportsmanship. Be responsible and inform your children and guests of EPYAL s Code of Conduct. Refrain from putting unreasonable demands on your child. Encourage children to establish goals. All children should be willing participants. Please inform the coach of any conditions your child may have. Refrain from interfering with the coaching of your child unless you are an official member of the coaching staff. Not confront a coach or an official on the field of play during any games or practices. Discuss issues at an appropriate agreed upon time, away from players and other parents. Be mindful that this organization is for CHILDREN. COACHES MUST: Not ridicule players, coaches or officials. Use positive feedback with players. Report incidents involving any unruly behavior to their respective Director, Be civil when discussing differences of opinion with officials, coaches or parents. Remove all participants from the field of play and see shelter when lightning is visible. All participants may not return to the field of play for a minimum of 30 minutes after the last lightning strike, unless another league s rule designates another amount of time. Be responsible for players cleaning field/bench area after games or practices. Agree to attend a coaching skill clinic when offered. Be mindful that this organization is for the CHILDREN. I hereby agree, if I do not follow the regulations set EPYAL s Code of Conduct, I may be subject to one or more of the following actions: 1. Verbal warning. 2. Written warning. 3. Immediate suspension/ejection from the current game/practice. 4. Partial or full season suspension. 5. Suspension or ejection from all EPYAL activities. In instances requiring Board review, participants may be removed from play and might not be allowed to participate until the matter is resolved. We are asking everyone for their help and support this season. It is important to inform you that a percentage of the profit from the concession stand will be used for the award ceremony and other activities that we may decide to have for all participants of this year s program. This year, there will be a $50.00 concession stand by-out fee due at the time of registration. This check must be a separate check. When a member of the player s family works in the concession stand (typically a 1 ½ hour shift), the $50.00 check will be returned. Other ways to get back your $50.00 check includes field clean-up after ALL home games JV or Varsity, early clean up party on July 29 th, getting things out for ALL homes games JV or Varsity. There will be a short meeting following Coach Matter s parents meeting on Wednesday, August 9 th at 7:000 P.M. to discuss the activities of the concession stand. A form to schedule volunteers to work the concession stand will be passed around during the meeting. One person from each family is required to work the concession stand at least one time during the season. Your support is of great importance if we expect to make this season a success. Thank You!

While every precaution is taken to avoid injury, the risk of injury is always present. Additionally, every effort is made to ensure all coaches within our league are well trained and are permitted to work with children. By signing this form, I waive any and all causes of action which may arise in connection with or incidental to the player s participation in this sport. Doctor s Signature: Date: CFA Player Registration Form Instructions Please print clearly on this form. A copy of this form must be immediately, upon player registration, sent to the CFA Commissioner. A copy must also be placed in the CFA roster book (with the player s birth certificate, physical examination, and other pertinent information). A computer generated list of players using these forms must be developed using Microsoft Excel Software. The file must be placed in the association player roster book, and also forwarded to the CFA Commissioner for posting on the CFA Web site.
