13 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q. How do I know where my child s bus stops? A. Bus booklets can be obtained from the College Website. The booklet outline the bus routes for all School buses. School buses stop at all designated MET stops which fall within their routes. Q A Q A Q A Q A Q A Q A What if my child decides he/she does not want to the catch the bus anymore? If you child ceases to use the school bus, he/she will need to hand in their bus pass to Reception at their respective Campus. Once the bus pass is received, we will arrange for a credit to be issued for any bus charges which are no longer applicable. Please refer to the Education Fee Policy. What do I do if my child loses his/her bus pass? It is important that your child reports to Reception that he/she has lost his/her bus pass as soon as possible; students will not be permitted onto buses if they do not have a bus pass. There is a charge of $5.00 when reprinting bus passes. A note from the parent needs is required stating that the bus pass has been lost, prior to a new pass being issued. What if I need my child to catch the bus for one day, or is not carrying a Bus Pass? Temporary Passes can be obtained from Reception at both campuses at a cost of $5.00 per trip and are subject to seats available. This trip is to travel to the residential address, and not to cater for after school activities or other personal use. This service is limited due to demand for our bus services. Please be aware that many of our buses are at capacity and daily passes for some buses are not guaranteed. Please do not rely on seat availability. Students must carry their bus pass at all times and produce it upon request. If student is unable to produce either a **Temporary Pass or Regular Bus Pass as they are boarding the bus they will not be allowed to board the bus. Students will then be instructed to go to Reception/Student Services and call parents/guardian to arrange an alternative way to return home How will my child know which bus to board at the end of the school day? Both campuses will have clearly labelled Bus Number on the front window of the bus. School staff will also be in attendance to assist students to find their correct bus. Each student s bus pass will also be clearly labelled with their bus number on it and will be colour coded to match their bus. What if my child loses something on the bus? If your child has lost something on the way to school and they report it to Reception we will ring the bus company to see if they can locate the missing item. It will then be kept until the student travels on the bus again or it will be handed into the school Reception. Please remember to clearly label all of your child/ren s belongings. If your child loses something on the way home from school, please call Cardinia Transit on What happens with the Travel Conveyance Allowance? If you live 4.8km or more from the College by the most direct route, you may be entitled to receive the Conveyance Allowance. If applicable, the College will retain all Conveyance monies per student to offset the cost of running the bus service. **TEMPORARY BUS PASSES: Will only be issued if carrying capacity on the bus allows, at a cost of $5.00 per trip. DO NOT rely on places being available. Temporary passes will ONLY be issued for travel to and from the place of residence and not for personal convenience ie. after school activities.
