Ulster Bank, Official Sponsor of the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship, is now calling on clubs to register for this year s competition on Speaking about the initiative, Seán Óg ÓhAilpin, Ulster Bank, said: Ulster Bank GAA Force received a record number of entries in 2012 and we are hoping to break that record again, this year. Supporting grassroots GAA, clubs and communities is extremely important to Ulster Bank and Task-Force in April, 2013 with the Urban Task-Force agreed to exercise a watching brief for Urban Clubs by the way of identifying their practical needs and liaising with the respective County Sub-Committees e.g. Coaching and Games Development Committee, club Planning and Physical Development Committee. 6 Page 6 EXTRA TIME DOWN GAA NEWSLETTER As September 1st draws near, we have reached the end of another fantastic and action packed Summer of GAA Kellogg's Cul Camps in Down. Following 8 weeks of camps at 43 clubs involving hundreds of coaches and thousands of children, the summer has been a wonderful period and a huge success!! Down GAA would like to take the opportunity the thank all those who have contributed to the success of the camps in any way. Our Clubs: We must start by thanking the clubs, who welcome the camps on a now annual basis. The camps are very much the focal part of the summer for many of our clubs. The club co-ordinators do a huge amount of work in advance of the camps taking place, promoting the camps locally and most importantly, enrolling the children who wish to attend. On a daily basis club volunteers give up their time to be onsite to assist with any duties that need done. Their presence alone provides a familiar and reassuring face for the children attending. Our Coaches: The success of the camps relies heavily on the quality of people delivering. In Co. Down we are fortunate to have a wonderful team of both full time staff and volunteer coaches who work on a daily basis in the Nursery and Cul Camps. The coaches we use are some of the most qualified, dedicated and motivated young (and not so young) people within this County. They are a credit to their families, their clubs and to Down GAA as a whole. Thank You. Our Parents: Without the parents who travel twice daily to the camps to drop off and collect their children, the camps would not take GAA KELLOGG'S CUL CAMPS place. The parents are the people who choose the Kellogg's GAA Cul Camps for their children. We strive to make the camps as enjoyable, beneficial and educational as possible for your children. We believe that our camps represent great value for money, and the numbers of parents who send their children to our Cul Camps is testament to this. Our games are the best in the world, and our association has much more to offer than a 1 week camp. We would encourage our parents to bring their children to their local club. The benefits are endless. Our Children: On the behalf of the coaches, the clubs and the Down GAA family I would like to thank each and every one of the 3269 children who attended this years camps. As ever you have made the summer as enjoyable for us, as hopefully the we have for you. You are the future of our association in Co. Down. Get to your club training and develop your skills on a daily basis at home and in school. We look forward to seeing you all again in 12 months, a year older and in SOME cases hopefully a year wiser!! * There is some surplus stock of Cul Camp kits and Bags available for purchase. They make ideal training kits or schools bags!!! If you are interested in purchasing either or both of the above please contact Grainne Stacey at the County Office ( ) Bags - 5 Kits - 10 Conor O'Toole Down Games Development Manager
