1 Crosby s Seafood Company Current Market notes and for the week of Fishing Vessels (F/V) Trigger fish, Snowy grouper, and Golden Tile have all reopened effective January 1 st and the catch limit on B-liner Vermillion snapper has been raised up to 1,000 lbs. as well. This has significantly increased the local boat captain s ambition to get out fishing and we expect to see plenty of local production in the next weeks to come as long as weather permits it. The local F/V Game On is out fishing now targeting bottom fish and we are hoping to see them return either tomorrow or Sunday. The local F/V Charleston Star is leaving dock tomorrow for a 3 day trip. They should be back to dock to unload their catch of local Sword fish Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. The local F/V Ellen Jean is expected to leave dock Monday or Tuesday for a 3 to 4 day trip. They are expected to return to dock by next weekend with their catch of local Swordfish. The local F/V Still Fishing is still at dock. The captain has taken a vacation down to Florida and won t be returning home for another 7 to 10 days. The local F/V Bonsai is set to leave dock on Sunday for a 2 to 3 day trip targeting bottom fish. They are expected to return back to dock Wednesday or Thursday. The Local F/V Seahawk is still at dock. The captain and crew have no set date for their next departure. The local F/V China Girl is still undergoing repairs. The boat owner has decided to do a complete overhaul and it will be down for several more months. The local F/V Miss Jane left the dock this morning to target more local Swordfish. They should be back in Sunday or Monday with their catch of local sword. The local F/V Oxbow just left dock yesterday. They are going to try and fill their boat to maximum capacity as long as fishing allows it. They will not be returning to dock until Jan. 14 th the day before wreck season comes to a close. Notes Halibut will not be available until around spring. Red Grouper is currently extremely limited on the market. We will be bringing in plenty of Black and Gag grouper to offset the demand. Virginia s flounder trawling has been producing some beautiful fish with prices holding steady. Sushi grade 2+ Yellowfin Tuna production has remained very consistent and we have been seeing some absolutely stunning fish. We currently have plenty of Oysters from Virginia, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Canada (PEI). Sushi Grade Norwegian and Faroe Island Salmon are both in and prices have maintained a consistent rate. Plenty of P.E.I. Mussels, Clams, and Fancy Fresh Sea Scallops available with shipments coming in 3 times a week to ensure the up most quality. Local crabmeat production has shutdown. We are hoping to see Alabama to start producing crabmeat in the next few weeks. As of now however, production has not begun. Rainbow Red Trout out of Idaho are in. We brought this product in to try them out a few months back and all of the customers who have tried them, have all loved it. Be sure to get yours while supplies last. 2 The local North Carolina oysters Devil Shoals will not be in production until the end of February or beginning of March. The local North Carolina oysters Savage Inlets have been coming in steadily and we hope to see production maintain a very steady rate. Although it doesn t get updates as often as it should, it will provide you with a better understanding of what species are open in our local fishery and what these Local Boats will be able to target.
