1 Multiplying by factors - can be very useful in the real world. First, give students some basic practice skip counting for each of these factors. Next, challenge students to brainstorm when skip counting can be useful. For example, when do we count off in pairs in school? How does this save time? Students can work individually or in pairs and share out as a whole class.
