Chairman s Report It is with pleasure that Golf SA Board presents its Annual Report for 213 Financial Year. During last twelve months Golf SA has settled into its new premises at North Adelaide Golf Course, a move that has been widely applauded. It has provided us with an excellent venue for meetings, training and in particular a comfortable and acceptable workplace environment. We continue to host Clubs Dinner at North Adelaide a concept where Club representatives have an opportunity to network in an informal setting with Board of Golf SA. Diners are encouraged to discuss topical issues and provide feedback for Board to consider. Membership is of growing concern to all of us. Falling membership numbers present a strain on Clubs and Association. Golf SA recognised need to promote club membership and game of golf. This led to development and implementation of Golf Month a campaign to encourage participation and an increase in club membership. Golf Month was held in October 212 with limited resources. We were very satisfied with results, received quite favourable comments and as a result we are able to improve on concept. Congratulations to those Clubs that have embraced concept and participated in this opportunity to promote game of golf. Golf Australia recognised potential of Golf Month and in 213 are intending to trial Playgolf WEEK in South Australia prior to its national roll-out in 214. With Course Rating completed across Australia, changes to Handicapping system continue to be implemented. Golf SA has been active in holding a number of information sessions across State to ensure transition to new Slope Rating system is well understood. 6 Golf SA Annual Report Thank you to Member Delegates of Golf SA who attend and participate in Annual General Meeting and Member Delegates Forum. In particular we have tried to make Member Delegates Forums informative. The interest and questions from last Forum at which me was media and communication was encouraging. Participation numbers in our Golf SA run events have seen a slight increase which is most rewarding. Our thanks to Leah Tattersall [Competitions Manager], Christian Puccini [Communications Manager] and Chair of Match Neil Brown for ir efforts in organising and promoting se events. A special thank you must be extended to all our Volunteers who continue to give up ir valuable time to assist Golf SA with event management activities. A sincere thanks and appreciation is also extended to Members & Committees of our golf Clubs that continue to provide and present ir golf courses and facilities in excellent condition for Golf SA events throughout year. We are extremely fortunate to have skilled staff we have at Golf SA managed by our CEO Chris Luz-Raymond. Their efforts and passion for golf in South Australia is making a difference. Finally, my personal thanks go to my fellow Board Members acknowledging ir dedication to ir respective Committees and support through year has assisted me greatly. William [Bill] Klaebe Golf SA Chair

Chief Executive Officer s Report The results of Golf Month were encouraging to say least and form a basis of an ongoing membership marketing campaign for golf in SA. The Association has settled into its new home at North Adelaide Golf Course. Availability of golf courses particularly for junior and development activities and access to lecture and meeting rooms Rules Seminars, HP Squad/Team briefings and like make a positive impact on operations. North Adelaide s central location has seen visitor numbers to Golf SA increase dramatically in past 12 months. Part of relocation of Office was a plan to implement best use of technology to support its administration. Our website now averages 15, hits per month exceeding all expectations. Strong support and use of on-line registration for tournaments and events is a feature of our use of technology. Our e-news is received by over 5 club administrators and our Facebook page and Twitter account continues to attract an increasingly technologically driven group. Highlights of year have included second Golf Industry Awards Night where over 27 guests at Adelaide Oval saw induction of Ms Pauline Sanderson and Dr David Cherry into Hall of Fame, Pennant Final hosted at Royal Adelaide Golf Club where Tea Tree Gully Golf Club engraved its name onto Simpson Cup for third successive year, a stunning record breaking round by teenager Minjee Lee [WA] at Glenelg Golf Club during Rene Erichsen Salver and a second Australian Junior Amateur Championship for Anthony Murdaca [The Grange Golf Club]. Wade Ormsby broke through to claim his first Asian Tour victory and Adam Scott won US Masters in style! It would be remiss of me not to take this opportunity to thank Golf SA Staff on your behalf. Allan Telford [Development Coach], Christian Puccini [Development & Communications Manager], Leah Tattersall [Competitions Manager], Margaretann Burgess [Finance & Office Manager]. Each of m continues to push boundaries to bring about best results for Association. Thanks also to our Trainees Tori Doherty (212) and Kristen Goedecke (213) whose friendly smiles and cheerful voices are first contact at Golf SA for many people. Golf SA also acknowledges and thanks its partners and sponsors South Australian Government through Office for Recreation & Sport, Srixon [High Performance Partner], Phil Hoffman Travel [PHT] [Corporate/Team Travel], Adelaide City Council, L Oreal [Products] and Golf Car Solutions [Golf Car at North Adelaide]. We look forward to growing our partnership and relationship with you. Chris Luz-Raymond Chief Executive Officer For all successes on golf course most compelling issue that is facing golf clubs across State and indeed across Australia is continuing decline of club membership. In a response to need for leadership and innovation Golf SA initiated a marketing initiative Golf Month a broad promotional activity to attract and engage new participants to game. It did so through a marketing campaign using television, digital, print and or forms of advertising. Year Ended 3 June 213 7

Finance Audit & Risk Management Report The Golf SA Financial Report to AGM consists of audited Financial Report I would like to start this report by thanking Deb Miller for her outstanding work in helping merged Association create a reporting structure that allows all of us working on Board to have a full understanding of our finances and ongoing budget movements. It was a great effort and much appreciated. This enhanced portfolio should ensure a more reliable and growing income stream and over time, preservation of real value [inflation adjusted] of Associations investment capital. The purchasing program has been carefully timed to maximise income from both term deposits and dividends. Golf SA is no different than most or organisations in that a difficult environment impacts severely on our revenue streams and refore has a detrimental effect on programs we can deliver. The ever increasing decline in club membership directly impacts on subscription revenue and would-be sponsors decline to commit scarce resources. Government support has also been curtailed with a lower commitment from DSR. The Financial Report for year ending 3 June 213 shows Golf SA in a sound position with Total Current Assets of $2,83,199, Total Current Liabilities of $49,381 with Total Equity of $1,592,818. The Statement of Profit & Loss shows a $62,56 post audit loss for year. In context this figure includes $32,999 in unrealised loss on shares, uptake of long service leave entitlements and on-costs of $,8. The day-to-day operations of association were within budgets set for year. This reflects a sound control of expenditure and income by various parts of organisation Board, Finance Committee and Management.. There are only two answers to this equation. Try to increase club membership [and subscriptions] and/or decrease our expenditure. A sharp focus on latter is maintained at all times. On or side of equation, Golf Australia is embarking on a joint marketing campaign in Adelaide in October to help local clubs attract new members. A very important initiative of 212/13 year saw Board embark on an investment plan to help preserve capital sum raised with sale of two association s properties and to earn more income from that sum of money. With ever declining interest rates it was decided that a prudent strategy of income producing blue chip share-market investments should be included into a diversified portfolio. The Board appointed two well established Adelaide broking firms to advise us. Two share and managed fund portfolios now exist to compliment our fixed interest term deposit portfolio. 8 Golf SA Annual Report I thank David Manning and John Butler for ir diligent and wise input to finance, audit and risk management committee process. I also thank Chris Luz-Raymond [CEO] and Margaretann Burgess [Finance Manager] for ir timely reporting and dedication to task. You have all contributed your time and intelligence generously to cause. Tony Timmins Chair Finance, Audit & Risk Management Committee

Match Committee Report Again this year, scheduling of events has been a challenge, trying to blend Golf SA programme with Golf Australia s National events schedule. With cooperation of our Member Clubs and expertise of Golf SA Competitions Manager Leah Tattersall, all came toger very well in end. Each year we Match Committee ask for feedback from our member clubs for suggestions to format of events, especially to Pennant Competition and where possible we try to accommodate. This year a few changes were made to playing conditions of which all have appeared to have been accepted and with cooperation of players and participating clubs everything is running smoothly. Pennant Golf in most grades of competition is very even. Congratulations to successful clubs in ir respective divisions and to clubs who gained promotion for next year s pennant season. Golf SA s major concern though, is still Junior Competition, which is not as strong as it has been in past. Neverless, with communication between Golf SA and Clubs not fielding a team, we hope this can be rectified in near future, with two Junior divisions again, creating a pathway for Juniors to progress to ir Senior Pennant teams. Golf SA events in majority have been well supported and number of participants continuing to grow. This is perhaps due to acceptance of MiTournament online registration site, making tournament entry more accessible. The inaugural SA Mid Amateur Championship played at The Links Lady Bay course was a success, with all participants enjoying two day event. The inaugural event winners were Patrick Mentzel [West Lakes] and Rhondelle Ollett [Redcliffe, Qld]. We thank Mr Michael Hill owner of Links Lady Bay for use of course. The change of venue for Business Women s Championship to North Adelaide Golf course was a success with size of field for this event best ever. Golf SA s signature Championship events, The SA Medal, SA Amateur and SA Classic/ Rene Erichsen Salver were again outstanding events. Last year s SA Amateur winner, Jack Williams [The Grange] was this year s SA Medal winner after 72 hole qualifying at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club for SA Amateur to be top qualifier. The final at The Grange [West Course] provided some of most enthralling and dramatic golf for players and spectators alike. As was case in last year s final Championship was won on 38th hole by Jordan Cooper [Sanctuary Lakes Vic.] who defeated Troy Moses [Bonnie Doon NSW] in an enthralling final. The Women s winner was Cyna Rodriguez [Country Club Philippines] defeating Jenny Lee [Glenelg] 2/1 also an outstanding final. Cyna also set a new course record at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club for women with a 5 under par 68 in second round of qualifying. The SA Classic/Rene Erichsen events produced 34 sub-par rounds which show quality of field in both events. Both events were won by Western Australians Daniel Hoeve [Kwinana] and Number 3 ranked amateur in world Minjee Lee [Royal Fremantle] who played some outstanding golf to set a new course record for women at Glenelg with a 7 under par 65. To all successful winners of all Golf SA State Championships and Events, congratulations and well done. We are also very appreciative to our group of volunteers [Rules Officials, Starters & Scorers] who give ir time to help make all events run smoothly. Our thanks also go to all clubs and ir members who give up ir courses to Golf SA to conduct se events. I personally can t thank Leah Tattersall enough for all work that she performs in her duties as Competition Manager, her coordination in organising all events is very much appreciated and hence makes my job as Chair of Match so much easier. My thanks also go to all staff at Golf SA and also to my committee Tony Bourne, Bob Crosby, Gordon Scott, Jenny Butcher, Susan Seja, Barry Green and Sue Hedley for all your assistance and guidance to making Match Committee work well toger as a team. Neil Brown Chair Match Committee Year Ended 3 June

Country Committee Report The Country Committee and delegates met twice during year. Once after 212 Annual General Meeting in October 212 and or after mid-year delegates forum in May 213. I would like to thank all Country Delegates and members of Country sub-committee for making effort to attend se meetings. If it was not for se devoted members, some of whom travel quite a distance Country Golf would not be as strong as it is now. Due to or commitments I was only able to attend three Country AGMs Murraylands, Sourn and Riverland with our CEO [and Chair Golf SA Bill Klaebe at Murraylands]. At each of se meetings we were invited to address meetings on activities of Golf SA, how ir respective District/Clubs and Golf SA can work toger on increasing membership and future promotional projects to lift profile of Golf in South Australia. Congratulations to Port Broughton Golf Club on achieving ir Centenary Year and effort of Michael Krieger in combining ir Golf Week and Centenary celebrations by playing 1 holes on 28th June 213 to raise funds for local charities. Congratulations also to Yacka Golf Club on reaching 5 years of age. 12 Deb Christie Womens Country Champion Zak Fuller Mens Country Champion Mid North District held a very successful District Captain s Day in May 213. Tony Bourne was invited to talk on proposed Handicapping system; CEO Chris LuzRaymond spoke on success of 212 Golf Month and proposed 213 Playgolf WEEK in partnership with Golf Australia whilst I spoke on communication. The Brett Ogle Cup for 212 was hosted by Sourn Golf Group and played at McCracken Golf Club. Although this course can be difficult for junior golfers, players seemed to master this course with top golf being played at all times. Men s Country Week was well supported by Country Golfers as it was in year 212. No doubt success of this week is due to support and access to four sand-belt courses [Glenelg, The Grange, Kooyonga and Royal Adelaide]. On behalf of se golfers I would like to thank se Clubs and ir respective members for allowing ir course to be available for week. The Women s 68th Country Meeting was held over four Country Clubs with each venue being fully supported by Ladies. Thank you to Clubs and ir respective members in making ir course available for and hosting se events. The Men s Sandgreens Championship was held at Kadina Golf Club with very good numbers participating. The Country Junior Championship was held at Lake Albert Golf Club and Junior Sandgreens was hosted by Crystal Brook Golf Club. Golf SA Annual Report SA vs Victoria Interstate Competition was held in October 212 at Millicent. The Country Men competed against ir Victorian counterparts in this annual event, with Victorians proving too strong. The proposal to hold a Country District Pennant event has gained support from Districts and is due to be played initially in Riverland in October 214. For Country Clubs, appointment/training of Community Coaches is most important as y are able to assist in development of new members especially juniors who are future of all Clubs. Golf South East has shown that by appointing/obtaining Community Coaches development of Juniors within ir Junior Development Academy is now of a higher standard. Any Club seeking assistance regarding Community Coaching is encouraged to contact Golf SA Office. David Manning Chair Country Committee

Technical Committee Report Handicapping and Course Rating Over all of activities of Technical Sub Committee this year loomed introduction of new GA Handicap System. Now that we have been informed that date on which system goes live will be January 23rd 214, Golf SA is anxious that all clubs in state are familiar with its implementation and operation. Golf Australia held a Seminar in June this year for all member associations to receive instruction on new system at a regulatory level, to present details of how Golf Link Tier 3 providers are involved, and to preview educational materials which will be provided to all clubs to support roll-out of system. This Seminar was followed by two Adelaide seminars conducted by Golf Australia directed at Club officials, outlining Duties, Authorities and Responsibilities of Home Club in implementing new system, and demonstrating some educational materials intended to be sent out to every Australian Golf Club. Golf SA was very pleased with attendance response from Clubs, but realises that not all country districts were able to attend, and intends to conduct district-based seminars where requested. The introduction of new GA Handicapping System was dependent upon all SA golf courses being given a Scratch Rating and a Slope Rating. This process was finalised in 212, but a condition of GA s license to use USGA Course Rating System is that each course is to be re-rated within 1 years. Golf SA s Course Rating Sub-Committee is implementing this requirement, with three country trips this year to rate multiple courses, and several metro courses re-rated. Golf SA Officials Our pool of trained course raters has dwindled over period since ratings began, so a formal Training Session was conducted in May this year, with newer raters being involved in re-rating programme. Although new Handicap System is due to begin in January 214, Golf Australia is committed to monitoring existing system to ensure fairness for all who play handicap golf and has determined that Handicap Anchor that prevents a player s handicap from large increases due to a temporary loss of form be increased from four strokes to five, taking effect in May of this year. Rules Golf SA is committed to educating golfers in Rules of Golf and this year has conducted two Level One Rules Seminars for Metropolitan area, attended by 37 participants, with anor planned for November, and two Level 2 Seminars, attended by 39 participants, of whom 18 sat for exam and 12 passed. Two Level 2 Seminars were held in country districts. Anor Level 2 Rules Seminar is planned for September. This year was first in which rules exam was set by Golf Australia to ensure that standards are uniform throughout States. Those who passed Level 2 exam have been placed on a register of qualified rules personnel on Golf SA website, providing a resource for Clubs to draw upon when running ir prestige events. Golf SA also uses this database to contact potential volunteers to referee at tournaments. We have a policy of appointing a Refereein-Charge at each of larger events, to oversee pairings of experienced and lessexperienced referees and to provide local knowledge of course. Golf SA Rules Sub-Committee was well represented at ISPS Handa Women s Australian Open held at Royal Canberra in February. Susan Seja and Barb Capper were re as Rules Observers, and Bob Crosby, Peter Spence and Tony Bourne as Referees. An important and interesting part of Golf SA Rules Sub-Committee s brief concerns answering queries from Clubs on rules questions. This year many have been received and answered, resolving, we hope, arguments in Clubhouse. With introduction of new GA Handicapping System, we foresee that re will be many new issues that will need explanation and clarification, and urge all Clubs to direct any queries to Golf SA. Thanks to members of my Sub-Committees Technical is a very hands on portfolio, and advice, support, time and energy expended is really appreciated. The staff at Golf SA has been approachable at all hours and ir assistance and advice has been invaluable. Susan Seja Chair Technical Committee. Year Ended 3 June

The Golf SA HP Program High Performance Committee Report The Golf SA High Performance Program aims to provide talented golfers with a development pathway to achieve ir goals especially for those who aspire to top level of national amateur or professional golf. The program is run as part of a National High Performance Program overseen by Brad James, Golf Australia High Performance Director. Since appointment by Golf Australia of Gareth Jones as Golf Australia State Coach in July 211, HP Program has been a work in progress and evolution. With ongoing player development, program has continued to change and emphasis for selection has also evolved, placing more, but not total, emphasis on those moving from junior to senior ranks. It has been recognised that squads of 1 players that were named for 212/13 were a little too large for all players to receive optimal individual attention, so for 213/14 four squads [Senior Men, Senior Women, Junior Boys, Junior Girls] will be reduced to a maximum of 6 players. A separate Talent ID program serves as feeder program for HP squads. National Rankings and Representations South Australia currently has several players ranked in top 5 of various national ranking categories. It is pleasing to note that most have improved ir rankings over final 212 rankings [figures in brackets]. Men Christopher Brown...[18] Jack Williams...[85] Tim Baker...[48] Boys 1... Chris was chosen to represent Australia in 111th Malaysian Amateur Open at Pahang Golf and Country Club, Malaysia in May. Anthony was again chosen to represent Australia in Toyota World Junior Championship held at Chukyo Country Club, Nagoya, Japan in June. Defending Champions Australia finished 15 under to come second to Venezuela. National Championships Congratulations are extended to Anthony Murdaca, Jack Williams and Chris Brown who qualified for match play rounds of Australian Mens Amateur Championship. Anthony reached round of before losing to eventual winner Cameron Smith. Jenny Lee and Ebony Heard also reached match play section of Australian Womens Championship. Jenny played great golf to reach final, only to go down to World number 3, Minjee Lee of Western Australia. Ebony came up against Minjee in first round and appeared to be on her way to a major upset when she led through first 9 holes but eventually lost at last hole. Anthony Murdaca won Australian Boys Championship held at Pinjarra WA for second time to join Adam Scott [97, 98] and Grant Waite [NZ, 82, 83] as two time winners of event. Top 2 finishes were achieved by Jordan Bishop [T7] and Josh Hayes [18]. In Girl s event held at Mount Lawley WA, Jenny Lee finished 4th, but unfortunately none of our or girls made top 2. State Teams The Mens State team suffered from loss of Brad Moules and Tom Bond to professional ranks in early 213, and slipped to fifth position in this year s series held in Hobart. Hopefully progress made by our up and coming Junior Boys will help to strengn lower order in future. The Womens State Team, with three members still eligible for two more years in Junior ranks defeated Tasmania in minor round, but unfortunately result was reversed in final round and team finished in 6th place.

High Performance Camp Nick Cullen The Junior Boys team was not able to successfully defend title won in 212, but finished tied for third with two very narrow 3/2 losses proving costly. The Junior Girls team is still in a development phase and finished in 5th position. Hopefully experience gained by three youngest members who still have at least 2 more years in Junior ranks will prove beneficial in future. High Performance Service Providers The coaching panel is headed by Gareth Jones, State Coach, assisted by Jamie Clutterham, Women s Coach and Alan Telford, Talent ID Coach. The squads are well serviced by our or providers at State Level: Ryan Lumsden - Biomechanics Greg Rosenbauer - Physiorapy Rosie Stanimirovic - Sports Psychology Daniel Kirk - Strength & Conditioning 212/13 Michael Riggs - [Strength and Conditioning / Programming and Supervision] 213 /14 Srixon Sponsorship Golf SA remains indebted to Srixon which supports HP program in form of consumables for squad members and golf bags for Interstate Teams. Conclusion My thanks are extended to or members of HP Committee: Bob Crosby, Deb Christie and Karen Simmonds, toger with coaching panel of Gareth Jones, Jamie Clutterham and Alan Telford. Thanks also to CEO and Office Staff for ir assistance during year. Special thanks to Margaretann Burgess who managed huge task of making travel and accommodation arrangements for Interstate Team Series. Tony Bourne Chair High Performance Committee Year Ended 3 June

Golf and Junior Development Report Junior development encompassed a broad range of activities and events across golfing calendar including introduction of a new initiative aimed at encouraging junior girls to improve ir golf skills. Our involvement in SSSSA and SAPSASA continues to grow in strength and quality underlying importance of promoting game at primary and secondary schools effectively. In addition, Golf SA conducted a Teacher Development Day & Ambrose Event to qualify and introduce a number of interested teachers to MYGolf and Community Golf Coaching. Events such as Jack Newton Invitational and Aaron Baddeley provide our junior and developing golfers an opportunity to display ir talent. Importantly se events have a national and in case of Aaron Baddeley an international component to which our players can aspire. The highlight of year no doubt was Mary Cudmore Girls into Golf Camp held over three days at Scotch College. By all accounts girls who participated had a fantastic golf experience under guidance and coaching of Allan Telford [Development Coach], Christine Burton and Mel Bryden [PGA/ALPGA]. This activity will continue as we build our junior female numbers. In conjunction with Department of Education and Child Development [DECD] Golf SA is developing an expanded program for schools to offer golf as part of a specialist sport program along lines of highly successful program run at Henley High School. An important part of this will be participating school-participating golf club partnership that will be needed. Our two national development programs, MYGolf for juniors and Community Golf Coaching Accreditation continue to gain acceptance at all levels. Golf SA Annual Report The success of se programs underpins development of golf particularly at junior level and in schools. We continue to develop a pathway for indigenous golfers of all ages and abilities with a now regular visit to APY Lands, a coaching program through Wiltja [Woodville High School] leading to SA Aboriginal Championships. This for first time had a number of junior entries. Golf SA engages a number of PGA/LPGA coaches throughout year to deliver its programs and activities. We thank in particular Christine Burton, Mel Bryden, Susie Maws, Adrian Wickstein, Nick McCormack and Jordan Harkin. Additionally, re are an increasing number of qualified Community Coaches with a special mention to Elysia Yap and Matt Butler who have assisted Allan Telford in delivery to schools. Without ir support much of what needs to be done simply would not get done. The future of golf development depends on uptake of national participation programs being rolled out through Golf Australia. Programs to engage women and casual golfer are being developed now. Golf SA s development role will continue to evolve as a result of se national programs. My personal thanks go to Golf SA Development Staff, in particular Allan Telford [Development Coach] for ir continued support and implementation of Golf SA Development Program over past year. Jenny Butcher Chair Golf & Junior Development

SA Golf Month Golf SA recognised need to promote game and golf club membership through its initiative Golf Month which was held in November. Golf received some good media exposure as a result. The concept of marketing golf and golf club membership will be expanded in coming years. Year Ended 3 June
