Grey fired rounds of 72, 67 and 69 to defeat eight golfers ranked in the top 100 in Golfstat. He followed that with a tie for 11th at the GSU hosted AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic. After opening with a 70, he shot rounds of 74 and 75. He finished the month with a tie for 19th at the UNCG Bridgestone Collegiate, shooting rounds of 73, 75 and 73. In four tournaments this fall, he has compiled a scoring average, tops in the Sun Belt. Coyle won individual medal honors at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational. She charted her best performance of the season (218) leading the field after each round with scores of After tying for first Coyle sunk a 15-foot birdie putt on the first hole to win the event. Coyle s play as of lately can be traced back to the tournament prior, the 35th Annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational. After ending the second round in a tie for 15th, Coyle came through big in the final round. Florida Atlantic 16 / (2012 Hatters Classic) 5 7th Sun Belt Conference Golf With the fall golf season in the books, the Sun Belt Conference announced today that Georgia State s Jonathan Grey and FIU s Shelby Coyle have been named golfers of the month for October. Grey shared low medalist honors to open the month at the Brickyard Collegiate, his second straight title. Grey fired rounds of 72, 67 and 69 to defeat eight golfers ranked in the top 100 in Golfstat. A 2012 All-Sun Belt Conference selection, Coyle has been playing impressively for FIU in the past two tournaments, of which the Panthers have claimed both the team and individual titles. FIU has swept team and individual titles in three of four tournaments played this fall. Most recently, Coyle won individual medal honors at the 2nd Annual Rainbow Wahine Invitational, played on the Leilehua Golf Course on the Island of O ahu. She charted her best performance of the season (218) leading the field after each round with scores of The field included three other schools ranked in the top 100, by either GOLFSTAT or Golf Week, and two players with national rankings.
