Bruce Bosco and I will be manning a table with membership information at the Joint Newberry and Chapin Chamber of Commerce Business Expo at the Mid-Carolina Country Club on Thursday June 14th, from 5:30 7:00 PM. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to take advantage of our Spring/Summer Membership Campaign. Golf $190 per mo./social $110 per mo. Young Executive Golf $160 per mo. We are waiving all initiation fees through July 31, 2018.

Personal golf carts may NOT be driven on the course or cart paths. 2. Cart paths may NOT be used as a walking/exercise trail or for walking pets (chemicals are frequently applied and golfers are not always accurate when they hit a ball) serious injury could result. 3. Bicycles, skateboards, etc. are NOT allowed on the golf course, cart paths, or the country club parking lot. Thanking you in advance for your cooperation in this important matter. The TCC Board of Directors The TMGA sponsored a modified alternate sho t tournament on Saturday May 12. A total of 18 two man/woman teams participated. Jon Pierce, John Thomas and Sandy Westmorland were all winners in their flights. John Thomas also won closest to pin on Maple # 4. The next monthly Senior Tournament will be played at Stoney Point Country Club on the Tuesday, June 26th in Lauren, SC. Sign-up sheet for this event is located in the Pro Shop.

3 Page 3 Update Loan Restructuring Initiative We are on the way Pledges total $585,000 as of May 30,2018 Target Date for Pledges --June 30,2018 Target Date for Completion of Process - July 30, 2018 If you are interested in loaning TCC the funds to pay off the golf-course mortgage, the interest rate available to you is 7%. The terms are amortized over 15 years with monthly payments of principle plus interest. If you want to take advantage of this opportunity contact John Thomas, at golferjt41@hotmail.com Member Meeting on June 6, at TCC Dear TCC Members, My name is Matt Haynes, and I am happy to be your new golf course superintendent here at Timberlake Country Club. The opportunity here is a great one, and I feel that the future is bright for this course! Originally from Greenwood, SC, I currently live in Simpsonville with my wife, Kimmy, our one-year-old daughter, Nora, and our two dogs, Chloe and Rory. I attended Clemson University where I graduated in 2005 with a degree in Horticulture. I am forever a Tiger but am also a Gamecock supporter as my wife was a four-year starter for the women s soccer team at USC. TLGA At Maggie Valley Club on May 7th, Jaime Bohnke won first low gross in her flight with a gal from Ponderosa and Nancy Neubeiser and Kathy Ceruti won first low net. Kathy now qualifies to compete for the Carolina Cup at Kiawah Island in December. On May 8th at Waynesville Country Club, Jaime Bohnke won first low net. Congrats to all of them!. I began my career in the golf business with the Cliffs Communities in the Upstate of South Carolina and mountains of western North Carolina. During my ten-plus years with The Cliffs, I was fortunate to be a part of such experiences as full-scale course construction, Nationwide Tour tournament preparations, and high-end course renovations. In , I served as the assistant construction superintendent at Biltmore Forest Country Club in Asheville, NC during an extensive renovation that saw the complete rebuild of the 1922 Donald Ross course. Most recently I have served as the course superintendent at Hunters Creek Country Club in Greenwood, SC. Having fallen on difficult times in recent years, Hunters Creek is being restored to a course that is a destination for golf in the Upstate. I am very excited to be a part of the team at Timberlake. An active membership, great amenities, and a beautiful setting make this a sought-after opportunity for anyone who calls course maintenance their career. I look forward to making Timberlake one of the best conditioned courses in the midlands (and the state!), as well as meeting you, the members. I am always happy to receive feedback as I believe that creating a great golf course requires a partnership between the members and the maintenance department. 5 Additional June Social Events Attention All Pickleball Players:!The Pickleball court has been reserved for every Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00. Anyone interested in playing on Sundays should notify the Pro Shop. The staff will keep a list each week of those who have signed up. New to the game? More than likely there will be someone there on Sunday who can teach you. Watching a YouTube video prior to playing for the first time is also a good way to learn about the game. The Pickleball net and equipment are not just limited for use on Sundays. Feel free to come and play anytime, but please make a reservation for the court in advance through the Pro Shop. A red canvas bag contains four paddles and balls and a black nylon bag contains the net. Both bags are located on the work bench in the cart barn.
