2 General Information For the benefit of all participating members countries, we have the pleasure to list tournament information below. Lunch at the clubhouse and shuttle service costs will be provided free of charge for 4 participants and 2 accompanying officials. All teams have to pay travelling costs. Practice facilities and green fees are provided by the Evian Resort Golf Club. 3 TEAMS An ECJC Team is composed of two girls and two boys born in 1999 or after, and two accompanying adults (1 Coach and 1 Captain). They must be nominated by each Federation or Union in order to compete. ENTRIES REQUIREMENTS Entries will be accepted from two Girls and two Boys (born in 1999 or after). A player must be: - An amateur as defined by the Rules of Amateurs Status as approved by R&A Rules Ltd. - A citizen of the country he represents. Players with dual citizenship may only represent one country per year. The handicap will not exceed 11.4 strokes for Girls and 8.4 strokes for Boys under the handicapping scheme adopted by the recognised authority controlling golf in their country and must be certified by the Secretary of the Federation. COMPULSORY: Each team member MUST provide: - Entry form - Health note - Image Reproduction Rights - Medical certificate to testify they are able to practice golf in competition. - Parent release - Team contacts If the ECJC committee do not receive all the documents before the 30th of July, the player concerned may not participate to the tournament. REGISTRATION FEE Each team (4 players + 2 accompanying officials) will be charged 450 to cover expenses such as shuttle service, trolleys, practice balls, pictures and farewell dinner. (SEE ENTRY FORMS) ACCOMMODATION This year The Evian Championship Juniors Cup Committee will not provide any accommodation. On the other hand, we propose preferential prices for accommodation in three different hotels. The Evian Resort, Royal***** and Ermitage Hôtel****, and the Ethic Etapes Côté Lac Hôtel. 4 TRANSFERS Transfers for participants and officials (coach and captain) will be available from Sunday 15th of September to Thursday 19 th of September. Transfers will be provided between Geneva Airport and the team hotel upon arrival and departure and also between the golf course and the hotel during the practice days and the tournament. WELCOME DESK A welcome desk will be set up to welcome you on your arrival at the Evian Resort Golf Club. It will be situated at the new accreditation area dedicated to welcome your team. A desk dedicated for the tournament will be established for: - List of tee times - General info - Official results FIRST AID STATION A first aid station will be provided. TRAINING SESSION As the ECJC will take place after The Evian Championship, this year a training session will be settle on Monday 16 th afternoon from 1.30pm. We will send you a document to book your training session on the golf course. Moreover the Academy is open for all players during the tournament. TROLLEYS Trolleys will be available free of charge. LOCKER ROOMS Lockers rooms will be available for players and officials: - 1 locker for men per country - 1 locker for women per country Money and valuables should not be left in lockers. DRESS CODE A reasonable standard of dress is required at all times on the course and in the Club House. It is advisable to equip yourself with good shoes, sneakers, cap, raincoat, swimsuit, beach towel, bag pack, sun lotion, sunglasses and warm jumper for cold evening. Concerning hand towel and sheet, you could ask it to your hotel. Please come with your own uniforms representing the colour of your country and be sure the 4 players are wearing the same uniform. SOCIAL EVENTS At their arrival, teams are welcome to attend to The Evian Championship final on Sunday 15 th September and follow players on the new golf course. 4

5 After the Opening Ceremony on Monday 16 th September, players and officials are invited to the Welcome Party at the Chalet du Golf. After the Closing Ceremony on Wednesday 18 th September, players and officials are invited to the Players Party at the Chalet du Golf. NEW PACKAGES Parents and families are welcome during the tournament. This year again, we propose packages with preferential prices for the families, or for anyone who wants to attend the Evian Championship Juniors Cup. This package includes accommodation in the Evian Resort, lunches and Dinners at the Club House and transfers from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the golf during all the competition, from the 15 th to the 19 th of September included. (Check-out on Thursday 19 th of September). Please let us know if you are interested in receiving those accommodation packages including preferential prices in the Evian Resort hotels. INSURANCE SEAT has obtained insurance: - for the children and the accompanying adults - covering the entire programme, from arrival in Geneva until departure from Geneva. - cover: death, disability, medical care (the full contract is available with the SEAT manager) N.B. These terms are subject to last minute changes in case of events beyond the control of SEAT. e.g.: flight delays, severe weather conditions etc... 5

8 TOURNAMENT S PLANNING DETAILS SUNDAY, the 15th of September Arrivals: Arriving at Geneva Airport Swiss exit - Use the Swiss exit for passport control and keep with you your return ticket and address of where you are staying. - All information requested by players and officials will be given by hostesses present at the meeting point: Geneva Airport arrival level. - All day, transfers will be provided between Geneva airport and the team hotel or the golf course. Team s arrival at the Evian Resort Golf Club - During the week, the welcome desk and Benoit PIRARD will be in charge to answer all your requests. - At you arrival, you should go first to this desk to register. You will also receive the week s program, the ECJC chart of good behaviour, goodies, badges, maps - Feel free to go there and meet our hostesses if you need general or administrative information. Accommodation All federations will have to book their own accommodation. However the teams can get preferential prices in the Evian Resort (Royal***** and Ermitage**** Hôtel) and the Ethic Etapes Côté Lac Hôtel in Evian-les-Bains. Feel free to contact Benoit PIRARD for furthermore information. Diner at the Club House From 7 pm. Transfers Transfers will be provided between the golf course, the officials hotels and the restaurant. If you are staying in an non-official hotel, a pick-up spot will be established in town. Note: It is also possible to walk, in all safety, from the hotel to the Golf Club. MONDAY, the 16th of September - TRAINING SESSION - Breakfast Breakfast will not be provided by the committee. And you will find all you need in the hôtels we have suggested you (Evian Resort, Ethic Etapes Hôtel). For the last team s arrival at Evian All the week, the welcome desk and Benoit will be in charge to answer all your requests. Practice Course This year we have the pleasure to announce that teams will have the opportunity to play the new golf course before the tournament. As you probably know The Evian Championship

9 2013 is now a Major. The golf course has been redesign by three international architects to host the players in the best conditions. Driving range During The Evian Championship Juniors Cup 2013, the official practice range is situated at the Academy. Lunch at the Club House Sandwich or open buffet. Captains meeting at the Club House From 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm. They will receive all the officials documents from The French Golf Federation and the organization. Opening Ceremony Please come with your own uniforms representing the colour of your country. Be sure the 4 players are wearing the same uniform. A photograph will take officials photos of each federation during the opening ceremony. Diner at the Club House From 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm After the ceremony, players and officials are invited to the Welcome party. Transfers Transfers will be provided between the golf course and officials hotels (Hôtel Ermitage****, Hôtel Royal*****, Ethic Etapes Côte Lac Hôtel). Tuesday, the 17st of September - 1st ROUND Breakfast Breakfast will not be provided by the committee. Yet you will find all you need in the hôtels we have suggested you (Evian Resort, Ethic Etapes Hôtel). First round of the tournament Tee times will be communicated to the teams the day before the tournament. Please come with your own uniforms representing the colour of your country. Be sure the 4 players are wearing the same uniform. Lunch at the Club house Sandwich or open buffet. Transfers Let us know when you want to check-out, so we will organize your transfers to the airport or the train station. 10

11 Rules and conditions play Two girls and two boys born in 1999 or after (a maximum of four players) nominated by each Federation or Union will be eligible to compete. Here are the new sporting criteria for the teams selection: o For European Nations, the first fourteen best-placed teams in the previous European Young Masters Nations Cup. In the case of a team from the fourteen selected is cancelling his participation, the committee will pick up a team from the European Young Master ranking. o 6 Wild Cards. The tournament will be decided by stroke play over 2 rounds of 18 holes each, in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Rules Limited and with the local Rules approved by the Championship Committee. In the event of a tie after 2 rounds (boys and girls categories), the winner will be decided by a sudden death play-off which will take as soon as practicable after the last competitors have completed their final round. Ties for other placing will be decided by count back over the final 18, 9, 6, 3 holes and last hole and then hole by hole. A Nation s Cup will be played within the tournament. The three best gross scores of four will count each day. The total aggregate of the 6 scores over the 2 days will constitute the team s score. In the event of a tie, the lowest total of the 2 non-counting scores will prevail. If there is a further tie, the best aggregate of the lowest score on each day will prevail. If there is a further tie, the best aggregate of the second best score will prevail, etc. A competitor shall not knowingly make use of any drug to enhance his performance. In this respect, the attention of competitors is drawn to be prescribed list of drugs issued by every Sports Council, a copy of which is available on request. Any competitor infringing this Condition or if asked to do, refusing to take a test may be disqualified. Players are not allowed to smoke on the course. EDITION NEEDS In order to present all Evian Championship Juniors Cup teams, please send us: - The federation logo - A presentation of your team & of your selection mode ( about words) - Photos or /and videos of your players in order to present them on the website. 12 CHAMPIONSHIP COMMITTEE The Championship Committee reserves the right to switch starting times and amend the conditions if necessary. CAPTAIN Each participating country must appoint a Captain who may give advice to members of that team. Captains must be Amateurs as defined by the rules of Amateur Status as approved by R&A Rules Limited. Each team may also appoint a Team Advisor who may give advice to members of that team from either: a) A Team Captain, who must be an amateur golfer in accordance with the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by R&A Rules Limited; or b) Another person who may or may not be a professional golfer (e.g.: the coach...) If appointed, a Team Advisor must be identified to the Committee prior to the start of the Championship and the position must not be interchanged. Note: The Team Captain, or the coach, can be named as a Team Advisor. Only the Team Advisor may offer advice. Please refer below for caddying permissions. TIME OF STARTING Players shall start at the time laid down by the Committee. However, it is a condition of this Championship that, if the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting time, in the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes at the first hole to be played. Penalty for lateness beyond five minutes is disqualification. CADDIES There will be no caddies allowed with the exception of the Team advisors. CONFORMING GOLF BALLS The ball the player uses shall be named on the current List of conforming Golf Balls issued by the R&A (Rule 5-1/Note and Appendix III). PRACTICE Player competing in The Evian Championship Juniors Cup will not be allowed to practice on the Championship course for a period of 30 days before the first official practice day, unless he or she is a member of the club at which the Championship is being played. CONFORMING DRIVER HEADS Any driver the player carries must have a clubhead, identified by model and loft that is named on the current List of Conforming Driver Heads issued by the R&A. (Rule 4-1.a/Note and Appendix II) A list of conforming clubs is published on the R&A website: 12

13 Penalty for carrying clubs: 2 strokes for each hole with a maximum of 4 strokes. Penalty for making stroke with club in breach of condition: disqualification. PRIZES The winner of the tournament in each category shall be for the period of one year: The Evian Championship Juniors Cup winner. The winner in each category and those finishing second and third will receive Mementoes. The three best teams in the Nation s Cup will receive Mementoes. The Evian Masters Juniors Cup Trophy will stay at The Evian Championship Golf Club.
