2016 BOEING CLASSIC ADVANCE MEDIA INFORMATION Contacts: Dave Senko (C) Event: Boeing Classic, the 18 th of 26 Charles Schwab Cup events. Dates: August 22-28, 2016 Site: TPC Snoqualmie Ridge, Snoqualmie, Wash. Par: Yards: 7,172 Course Designer: Jack Nicklaus (1999) Format: 81 players, 54 holes of stroke play, no cut Purse: $2,000,000 ($300,000 to the winner; 300 Charles Schwab Cup points) 2015 Champion: Billy Andrade ( /-9); defeated Bernhard Langer by one stroke. Television: The event will be televised on GOLF CHANNEL. It is on a tape-delayed basis on Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and live on the weekend from 3:00-5:00 p.m. All times are local. The 2016 PGA TOUR Champions: This year marks the 37th anniversary of PGA TOUR Champions and the Boeing Classic is the 18th event on the 2016 schedule. The last of 26 official events on the 2016 schedule is the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, November 7-13, at Desert Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. PGA TOUR Champions primary purpose is to provide significant competitive and earnings opportunities for players age 50 and older, to protect the integrity of the game and to help grow the reach of the game in the U.S. and around the world Recap: Billy Andrade rebounded from a triple bogey-7 on the fourth hole and then hung on to hold off a fast-closing Bernhard Langer by one stroke for his first stroke-play victory in a TOUR-sponsored event in almost 15 years. Andrade hooked a drive out of bounds at the fourth and then faced an unplayable with his provisional ball. He eventually chipped in for a seven and the tournament was up for grabs. Andrade eventually righted the ship, and his 15-foot birdie at the par-4 12th hole gave him a three-stroke lead again. Langer was frustrated on the greens for most of the day, but he finished his round with back-to-back birdies. However, it was an eagle that he needed on the last hole to tie Andrade. Langer's second shot on the par-5 18th hole stopped in the back fringe, and then his 15-foot bid for eagle was never high enough, leaving him one stroke short of Andrade who two-putted from 10 feet for a par on the final green. BOEING CLASSIC STORYLINES How the Charles Schwab Cup Race Will Work in 2016: Starting this year, at the completion of the SAS Championship (Oct ), the leading 72 players on the money list will advance to the first Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs event. Wildcard Weekend at the SAS Championship allows for one player who finishes in the top 10, but finishes outside the top 72 on the season-long money list, to advance to the PowerShares QQQ Championship at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA (Oct ), where a points system will commence. Each player s current money total before the start of the PowerShares QQQ Championship will become the equivalent number of points (e.g. $330,000 equals 330,000 points). Double points will be earned by each player competing in each of the first two Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs events and added to the existing points earned through the SAS Championship (e.g. if a player has earned $250,000 through the SAS Championship, then earns $132,000 or 264,000 points - at the PowerShares QQQ Championship, his total points will be 514,000 points). A total of 54 players will advance to the Dominion Charity Classic the following week in Richmond, VA, before the points are reset for the 36 players competing at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Scottsdale, AZ (Nov. 7-13). The reset will be similar to the PGA TOUR s FedExCup Playoffs which allows the leading five players the opportunity to claim the Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs trophy if they win the season-finale, but also mathematically allows for the 36th-ranked player to win, depending on his performance at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship and the results of the remainder of the field. Langer s 2016 Performance Shows Age is No Limit: At age 58, Bernhard Langer continues to defy statistics showing PGA TOUR Champions success comes between the ages of In the Tour s 37-year history, 85% of wins have been posted by players between the ages of However, at age 58, Langer has won three times in 2016, including a pair of major championships Regions Tradition and a third consecutive Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship. In addition to his three wins, his resume for the current season shows 11 top-10 finishes in 14 starts, two third-place efforts and 36 of his 44 rounds have been below par. His worst finish was a T13 at the American Family Insurance Championship in June. He currently leads the Charles Schwab Cup race with $1,784,659. His win at June s Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship was the 28 th of his PGA TOUR Champions career, leaving him one shy of tying Lee Trevino for second place on the all-time victory list. Tour Welcomes Several New Faces in 2016: A number of new faces began to dot PGA TOUR Champions tournament fields this year as a number of long-time PGA TOUR performers turned 50. Here are the prospective members along with their 2016 birthdays: Craig Parry (January 12th), Bob Estes (February 2nd), Jose Maria Olazabal (February 5 th ), John Daly (April 28th), Michael Bradley (July 17th), Billy Mayfair (August 6 th ), Tim Petrovic (August 16th). Later in the year, Jerry Kelly turns 50 on November 23 and will be eligible starting in Other notable players who turn 50 early in 2017 are David Toms (January 4 th ) and Steve Stricker (Feb. 23 rd ). Parry finished T38 at the Allianz Championship, Daly T17 at the Insperity Invitational and Bradley T36 at the recent Senior Open Championship in Scotland. Billy Mayfair was T2 at the U.S. Senior Open, while Petrovic will make his debut this week. Estes and Olazabal have yet to play in A Look at the Field: A total of 62 players in this year s field have won 326 PGA TOUR titles and 50 players have 240 PGA TOUR Champions victories. There are also 14 players with major titles on the PGA TOUR and 20 players with wins on PGA TOUR Champions. In addition, the field includes four World Golf Hall of Famers Bernhard Langer, Mark O Meara, Tom Kite and Colin Montgomerie.

It s a Ryder Cup Year With the Ryder Cup slated for Hazeltine National Golf Club next month, a large number of players in this year s field have played on a number of Ryder Cup teams in the past and a few have served as captains of the United States and European squads. What are some of the player s greatest memories from their own experience playing the event? What is their all-time favorite memory of the Ryder Cup? What were their nerves like when they teed it up for the first time in the event? Where does the being a member of the Ryder Cup team rank in their careers? Can Trend of First-Time Winners Continue? The Boeing Classic has seen a recent run of players capturing their first PGA TOUR Champions victory at the event. In fact, three of the last five winners posted their first Tour win here including Mark Calcavecchia (2011), John Riegger (2013) and Scott Dunlap (2014). BOEING CLASSIC NOTES Another Playoff on the Horizon? Although the Boeing Classic is just 11 years old, there have been five playoffs. Here is a rundown on those five playoffs. Year Champion Runner(s)Up # of Holes 2006 Tom Kite Keith Fergus One Hole/Birdie 2007 Denis Watson Gil Morgan, Joe Ozaki, Two Holes/Eagle R.W. Although it measures 431 yards, it features a 70-foot drop from the tee over Bear Canyon and is a drivable par-4. Since the PGA TOUR Champions started playing at the site in 2005, the course s signature hole has given up 26 eagles during that time, including three by R.W. Eaks and two each by Hajime Meshiai and Ben Crenshaw. A total of 21 different players have made 2s at the hole. Tom Kite leads all players with 21 birdies on No. 14, while Tom Purtzer has 14. The highest score recorded on this hole was an eight by Bill Longmuir in the second round in The Boeing Classic champion has played this hole under par for the week eight times in the previous 11 times the event has been held. In 2006, Kite played the hole in even-par and still went on to win in a playoff, while Jay Don Blake and John Riegger also played it at even-par. Year Player Round 2005 R.W. Joining that group is recent Senior Open Championship winner Paul Broadhurst, Jean Van de Velde and Brandt Jobe.

How the Leaders Have Fared: In the 11-year history of the Boeing Classic, no first-round leader has gone on to victory. Second-round leaders have gone on to win the Boeing Classic seven times in 11 years, including six of the last seven years. The exception was in 2012 when Jay Don Blake came from three back of 36-hole leader Tom Jenkins then beat Mark O Meara in a playoff. Aces Few and Far Between: Aces have been few and far between in the 11-year history of this tournament. Tim Simpson made the first hole-in-one in Boeing Classic history, holing out on the par-3 6 th hole in Hale Irwin made the only other ace at the par-3 9 th hole in Both aces occurred in the first round of the tournament. Titles Came in 1 st Start Here: David Eger, the tournament s inaugural champion in 2005, Denis Watson, a winner in 2007, John Riegger, the 2013 champion, and Scott Dunlap (2014) all won the Boeing Classic in their first appearance in the event. Some Facts on Snoqualmie Ridge: No previous winner has opened with a round of par/worse and gone on to victory and eight of the last nine winners have started with a round in the 60s. The exception was Mark Calcavecchia, (70 in 2011) Last year s winner, Billy Andrade, is the first winner to post a round in the 70s The average winning score at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge is under par Andrade s 9-under 207 score in 2015 was the highest winning score in this tournament since Denis Watson prevailed with a similar score in 2007 The furthest a player has come back from to win the Boeing Classic after Round 1 is T36 by Tom Kite in Kite trailed by eight strokes after Friday s opening round In the last eight years, no player has won this event without being in the top-10 on the leaderboard after Friday s round No champion has ever been outside the top-five after 36 holes. Tom Kite, the 2006 winner, was T4 after 36 holes which is the furthest back. Kite (2008) as well as Jay Don Blake (2012) was T3 going into the final round...seven of the previous 11 winners have been first or tied for first after 36 holes. Langer is Top Money Winner: Bernhard Langer, the 2010 champion, is the leading money winner with $771,857. Tom Kite, a two-time winner is second with $764,979. Mark O Meara is third with 554,967. Oldest/Youngest Winners: When John Riegger captured the Boeing Classic in 2013, he became the event s youngest winner at 50 years, 2 months and 12 days. Tom Kite s second Boeing victory in 2008 at 58 years, 8 months and 15 days made him the tournament s oldest champion. TPC Snoqualmie is a Jack Nicklaus Design: The TPC Snoqualmie Ridge is one of eight venues designed by Jack Nicklaus that are currently in use on the 2016 PGA TOUR Champions schedule. TPC Snoqualmie Ridge joins Hualalai Golf Club (Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai), Top of the Rock (Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf), The Club at Twin Eagles/Talon (Chubb Classic), The Golf Club at Harbor Shores (Senior PGA Championship), Bear Mountain Resort (Pacific Links Championship), Sherwood Country Club (Power Shares QQQ Championship), and the Desert Mountain Club Cochise Course (Charles Schwab Cup Championship) Playoff Remains a Record: The seven-man playoff in 2007 was the largest in a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event. The all-time record on the PGA TOUR is six players at both the 1994 GTE Byron Nelson Classic and the 2001 Nissan Open. The previous high on the PGA TOUR Champions was five players at both the 1996 Emerald Coast Classic and 1998 Kroger Senior Classic. The largest number of contestants on the Web.com Tour is four players. When Denis Watson won the overtime session with an eagle on the second extra hole, it also marked the first time since the 1985 Merrill Lynch Golf Digest Commemorative (Lee Elder defeated Peter Thomson on the first extra hole) that a playoff was won with an eagle on the PGA TOUR Champions. Final Grouping is the Place to Be: The winner of the Boeing Classic has come from the final grouping in eight of the previous nine years. The only time it didn t happen during that span was in 2012 when eventual winner Jay Don Blake was in the second-to-last grouping on Sunday. Sauers Snoqualmie Success: Gene Sauers has been third, T4 and T9 in his last three starts in this tournament.

Highlights of the 2016 PGA TOUR Champions Season The Boeing Classic will be the 18th official event of the 2016 season. Here are some of the highlights from the first 17 events of the year. So far in 2016, there have been 14 different winners, including five first-time winners. After capturing his first career PGA TOUR Champions victory in the second-to-last event of the 2015 season at the Toshiba Classic, Duffy Waldorf sank a 25-foot putt on the 54th hole to win the seasonopening Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai by one stroke over Tom Lehman. Waldorf played all 54 holes without a bogey, becoming the fourth in tournament history to accomplish that feat. Esteban Toledo outlasted Billy Andrade with a three-foot par putt on the third playoff hole to win the Allianz Championship for his fourth PGA TOUR Champions win. Interestingly, three of his four victories came on the third playoff hole. For 10 consecutive seasons, Bernhard Langer notched a victory on PGA TOUR Champions thanks to his wire-to-wire victory at the Chubb Classic. He now needs one win in 2017 to tie Hale Irwin as the only players with at least one win in 11 consecutive seasons. The defending Charles Schwab Cup champion carded a first-round 62 on his way to a third win at the Chubb Classic (2011, 2013, and 2016). Tom Lehman, Wes Short, Jr., and Fran Quinn each tied the all-time record for most eagles in a round with three. Lehman did it first at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, followed by Short Jr., at the Tucson Conquistadores Classic and Quinn at the Principal Charity Classic. It is the first time that three players have ever recorded three eagles in one round during the same season. Woody Austin collected his first PGA TOUR Champions title at the Tucson Conquistadores Classic in his 28th career start. His eagle from the greenside bunker on the par-5 15th hole helped preserve a one-stroke victory over sponsor exemption Jim Carter, whose second-place finish was his best effort in 32 starts on PGA TOUR Champions. Miguel Angel Jimenez fired a bogey-free 8-under-par 64 in the final round of the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic presented by C Spire to overcome a three-stroke deficit to Scott Dunlap and win for a third time on PGA TOUR Champions in only 11 career starts. Jimenez s final-round 64 is the lowest final round in tournament history. No 36-hole leader has won the event since 2012, when Fred Couples claimed the title. Another final-round 64 led to victory for the second consecutive tournament, as Woody Austin s 8- under-par performance set the lowest final-round score in tournament history at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic. Austin defeated Wes Short, Jr., in a playoff for his second win of the 2016 season, taking hold of the Charles Schwab Cup standings lead. Woody Austin continued his winning ways the very next week, teaming up with Michael Allen to win the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge. Allen drained an 18-foot birdie on the 54 th hole to defeat David Frost and Roger Chapman by one stroke. Allen and Austin set a new tournament record with a 54-hole score of 23-under-par 156, breaking the previous mark of 19- under-par 160 established by Fred Funk and Jeff Sluman in Austin won three times in a fourevent stretch and became the first player to win back-to-back events since Kenny Perry won the 2013 Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship and U.S. Senior Open Championship. Jesper Parnevik claimed the Insperity Invitational for his first career PGA TOUR Champions victory and became the fourth consecutive international player to win the event, joining Esteban Toledo (Mexico), Bernhard Langer (Germany) and Ian Woosnam (Wales). Bernhard Langer captured his sixth PGA TOUR Champions major at the Regions Tradition the first of five majors during the 2016 season. The win moved him into a tie for third with Gary Player and

Tom Watson on the all-time list for major titles on TOUR. It also gave Langer at least one major title in four different years on PGA TOUR Champions as well as four of the five major championships; Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship ( ), Senior Open Championship (2010, 2014), U.S. Senior Open (2010) and the Regions Tradition. The win propelled Langer to the top of the Charles Schwab Cup standings. Rocco Mediate ended a three-year drought when he won the Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid. The wire-to-wire victory was his third career PGA TOUR Champions victory and first major title. After an opening-round 9-under-par 62 which tied the tournament 18-hole scoring record, Mediate closed with a 5-under-par 66 for a 72-hole total of 19-under-par 265 which established a new tournament mark for the lowest 72-hole score in tournament history. The previous mark was 268 by Sam Snead in Mediate had earlier broken the record for the lowest 36-and-54-hole scores in tournament history. World Golf Hall of Fame member Bernhard Langer converted a 12-foot par putt on the 72nd hole at The Philadelphia Cricket Club on Sunday to win the Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship by one shot over Miguel Angel Jimenez and Joe Durant. Langer's winning total of 1-over 281 marked the first over-par score to win a PGA TOUR Champions event since the 2008 Senior PGA Championship, where Jay Haas was victorious with a 7-over 287 total. Langer's win was the 28th of his PGA TOUR Champions career, which kept him in third place on the all-time victories list, trailing only Hale Irwin (45) and Lee Trevino (29). The win marked his seventh senior major championship, which put him in a tie for second place with Irwin on the all-time list for major titles on Tour. Jack Nicklaus owns the most senior major titles with eight. Stellar play on the back nine proved the difference for Kirk Triplett at the inaugural American Family Insurance Championship. Triplett birdied the par-4 13th, 14th and 15th and par-5 16th, saved par with a 6-footer on the par-3 17th and parred the par-4 18th. Triplett played the front nine in 3-under, dropped a stroke on the par-4 10th and birdied the par-5 11th to set up his winning run. Bart Bryant, the leader at 17 under after a birdie on 14, had a 69. However, he saw his chances slip away when he made a triple-bogey 7 on the 15th after losing his ball when it sailed to the right off the tee. The win was the fifth in Triplett s PGA TOUR Champions career. Paul Goydos was steady down the stretch and it led to a two-stroke victory over Wes Short Jr. at DICK S Sporting Goods Open. Goydos bogey-free 3-under-par 69 came on a windy day at the En-Joie Golf Club and he finished at 14-under-par 202 for his third career victory on PGA TOUR Champions. Great Britain s Paul Broadhurst rebounded from an opening-round 3-over-par 75 with rounds of to capture the Senior Open Championship at the Carnoustie Golf Links. His bogey-free finalround 68 was instrumental in overtaking Miguel Angel Jimenez, who had started the day four strokes in front of the field. However, Broadhurst s steady play over the weekend was the difference as he made just one bogey over his final 46 holes. Joe Durant made a 10-foot eagle putt on the first extra hole to win the 3M Championship in Minnesota. Durant s eagle came on the par-5 18 th hole which he had birdied moments earlier for a 9- under-par 63. After a double bogey on the par-4 14 th, Jimenez birdied his final four holes to match Durant at 19-under197 at the TPC Twin Cities. Jimenez narrowly missed the chance to win outright when his eagle putt on the 54 th hole just slid by setting up the playoff. The victory was the first for Durant in an individual stroke-play event since 2006 when he won the FUNAI Classic at the WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort. It was his second win on PGA TOUR Champions after teaming with Billy Andrade a year earlier to win the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf. Gene Sauers shot a closing-round 1-under-par 69 and overcame a one-stroke deficit on the final two holes to defeat Miguel Angel Jimenez and Billy Mayfair at the U.S. Senior Open at Scioto Country Club in Ohio. Jimenez was the 54-hole leader and appeared in the driver s seat with a one-stroke

advantage after 16 holes, but consecutive bogeys on Nos. 17 and 18 proved costly as Sauers made clutch pars on his final two holes, including a five-footer at No. 18 for his first win on PGA TOUR Champions. Mayfair finished tied for second with Jimenez. Two years earlier, Sauers had lost in a three-hole playoff to Colin Montgomerie in the event and 10 years earlier, he recovered from a nearfatal disease (Johnson-Stevens Syndrome). IT HAPPENED ON THIS DATE 8/22/03 One week after tying a record with a nine-stroke win in Park City, UT, Dave Stockton wins his second title in succession, going wire-to-wire at the GTE Northwest Classic near Seattle to beat Dale Douglass by four shots. 8/23/98 Just two months shy of his 63 rd birthday, Gary Player became the second-oldest winner on the PGA TOUR Champions when he defeats J.C. Snead and Walter Hall by one stroke at the Northville Long Island Classic. 8/23/87 Eight years after his first career win, D.A. Weibring wins a second PGA TOUR crown when he beats Larry Nelson and Greg Norman by one stroke at the rain-shortened Western Open. 8/24/80 Peter Jacobsen trails 54-hole leader Rex Caldwell by six strokes heading into the final round but fires a final-round 67 to defeat Bill Kratzert and Mark Lye by one stroke at the Buick-Goodwrench Open in Michigan for his first PGA TOUR title. 8/24/03 Three successive rounds in the 60s gave Don Pooley a three-stroke win at the Allianz Championship in West Des Moines, IA. Pooley s win capped a comeback from left shoulder surgery earlier in the year which kept him out nearly five months. 8/24/03 Kirk Triplett comes from five strokes back the final day following a closing-round 9-under-par 63 to win the Reno-Tahoe Open by three strokes over Tim Herron. 8/25/91 Nearly three months after winning in Ft. Worth, Tom Purtzer emerges victorious in a three-man playoff at the NEC World Series of Golf in Akron. Purtzer finished tied with Davis Love III and Jim Gallagher, Jr., after 72 holes, but ended the playoff when he made par on the second extra hole. The win earned him a 10-year exemption on the PGA TOUR. 8/25/96 Despite an even-par 71 in his final round, Guy Boros wins the inaugural Greater Vancouver Open by one stroke over Lee Janzen, Emlyn Aubrey and Taylor Smith. In the process becomes the first son of a PGA TOUR winner to win a Tour title in 15 years. 8/26/84 Two weeks after winning in Michigan, Denis Watson shoots a course-record 8-under-par 62 in the second round and goes on to a two-stroke victory over Bruce Lietzke at the NEC World Series of Golf in Akron. 8/26/90 Tom Lehman makes just two bogeys over 54 holes and wins the Reflection Ridge Open in Wichita and defeats Greg Whisman by one stroke for his first Nationwide Tour title. 8/26/01 Walter Hall pars the final hole to tie Ed Dougherty after 54 holes and then two putts from 35 feet to win the AT&T Canada Senior Open Championship, the lone win of his Champions Tour career. 8/27/89 -- David Frost s third of 10 career wins on the PGA TOUR is his most significant. Frost claims the NEC World Series of Golf and earns a 10-year exemption into all PGA TOUR co-sponsored events. His finalround 1-under 69 at Firestone ties him with Ben Crenshaw after 72 holes and he goes on to defeat Crenshaw with a par on the second playoff hole. 8/27/06 Less than a month after losing to Loren Roberts in a playoff at the Senior British Open, Eduardo Romero closes with a 7-under-par 65 and defeats Lonnie Nielsen with a birdie on the first extra hole to win the JELD-WEN Tradition near Portland, OR. Romero played bogey-free golf over his final 38 holes and made just two over his final 66 holes. 8/27/00 Larry Nelson finishes 4-under-par on the back nine on Sunday to defeat Jim Thorpe by four strokes at the FleetBoston Classic. 8/28/11 Forty-nine year-old Kirk Triplett becomes the oldest winner ever on the Nationwide Tour when he is a two-stroke victor at the News Sentinel Open in Knoxville, TN. 8/28/83 Nick Price wins the first of 18 PGA TOUR victories when he goes wire-to-wire to beat Jack Nicklaus by two strokes for the World Series of Golf crown in Akron, OH.

8/28/88 After earning a berth in the field off his win in the Seiko Tucson Open in late 1987, Mike Reid takes full advantage of his opportunity and makes par on the first extra hole to defeat Tom Watson at the NEC World Series of Golf. Reid s win earned him a 10-year exemption on the PGA TOUR. 8/28/05 Brad Faxon closes with a career-best 9-under-par 61 to come from seven strokes back to win the Buick Championship in Michigan in a sudden-death playoff with Tjaart van der Walt. On the first extra hole, he stuck a 7-iron to three feet which eventually led to a birdie and the win. It was his eighth career title.
