2 SECRETARY MANAGER S REPORT This last year has been a very hard one for everyone and the result for the year not one that anyone is happy with but not altogether an unexpected one. The positive to be taken from the year was the improvement following changes implemented late in 2017 that started to have an impact on the trading bottom line. The biggest impact on the result is obviously the decrease of $176,953 in poker machine gross income ($130,822 in nett trade) and costs associated with the failed amalgamation bid of $36,035 Bar trade and Keno continue to hold well and Greens trading performed well on the back of very few lost days due to weather. Ultimately it does still boil down to members using the facilities, thus supporting the club and our objects. Thank you to the Board of Directors, both old and new, for their time and efforts during the year, all of the staff who help make this the popular place that it is and those members who support their club. The financial year report is attached for your information. Please don t hesitate to contact me if you wish discuss anything about the Club. MICHAEL O SULLIVAN SECRETARY MANAGER Please note that if you have any questions regarding the financial reports you should present them in writing to the office no later than one-week prior to the Annual General Meeting in order to receive a full answer to your query. 2 3

21 MENS PRESIDENTS REPORT 2018 has seen our men s club very nearly maintain its numbers over the past twelve months. Sadly, we have lost a number of our friends over the year, but overall our membership has only marginally fallen with equal numbers of full and social members. Attendances on bowls days have been very pleasing, with the committee working very hard to introduce new concepts in games so that members get a variety of options to choose from. The club has donated generously over the year to local charities and for that I thank you all for your support. On the greens we again stumbled at the last hurdle in the pennant season, with three sides very nearly going through to the playoffs. The club enjoyed a very healthy relationship with the ladies club during the year, participating in a number of very enjoyable mixed charity days and I look forward to continuing this relationship into the New Year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members for their support during the year, there has always been someone there when something needed to be done. I d like to especially thank all the committee who have worked tirelessly over the 12 months and given a lot of their time to make this club inclusive to everybody and a welcoming environment for all. I would also like to thank the licensed club and all the staff who have helped over the year who have had to put up with us and some of our very peculiar ways. In conclusion, I would like to thank you all for the support you have shown to the committee and the club and look forward to continuing to be a part of seeing this club thrive into the future. There is absolutely no reason why it won t. Rob Cattley, President M.U.M.B.C. MILTON-ULLADULLA MEN S BOWLING CLUB SECRETARIES REPORT 2018 Notwithstanding the events at the beginning of the year our men s club continues to perform admirably. Our focus is on bringing the game of bowls to the members and ensuring that the game is conducted in an acceptable way. I seriously hope the member s can look forward to a more relaxed time and further this clubs exploits in providing a venue to enjoy friendship and bowls. There has been some upheaval within the zone 7 where the Central South Coast Bowling Association seems to have lost interest in the administrative side of bowls. As of the end of July this year there is a steering committee to oversee the future of this district in an effort to encourage leadership. I am saddened at the loss of senior members who have passed on. The committee s efforts to keep costs down at the same time provide extra incentives to compete at the higher level will continue to work while membership numbers remain viable. Your management committee met regularly every month with little disruption. Once again we have weathered the year s events and controversies and oversaw the events posted for you the bowlers to enjoy. The hospital auxiliary and legacy were the recipients of fund raising days. The Winter Carnival continues to go from strength to strength while the Garney Noble Pairs continues to be a popular event. Our clubs sponsor s reached a milestone this year with Ulladulla Travel, Alan May Holden, Capital Chemist, Cameron Optometry and Milton IGA reaching ten years of partnership with the men s club. We are also pleased to welcome two new sponsors in Baylander Builders and Matthew s Auto and Mower repairs. We continue to attract advertisers who provide us with score cards. We were once again the host venue for the Wheel chair and Disability lawn bowls state championships held during the 1st week of September. Again I would like to thank all those members who unselfishly gave of their time to help those bowlers negotiate around the greens. This year s pennant season gave us great hope that we might again go on to play in the state playoffs. Promising starts but yet again, the season evaporated before our eyes. With some players moving on and those who might withdraw, the selectors will continue to do their best. Your club continues to be well managed and the committee continues to give of its time to ensure that you the members get the most from bowls. I want to thank all those on the committee and sub committees for their tireless work and that in itself ensures the club continues on a stable path to success. I know the staff have been under some pressure during this year s provocations and 40 41

22 disruptions however we are still here and enjoying everyone s company. Thank you for looking after us as we try to look after our club. To our wonderful greenkeepers Peter and Jason our thanks for producing the best greens on the coast. Yours in bowls Graham James Secretary TREASURER S REPORT 2018 Welcome to the Financial Statement for the year 1st July 2017 to 30th June Income and expenses for the period have been on an even trading and we show a small loss of ($374.58). This year we have made donations to three worthy charities, Milton outpatients Clinic, Milton Hospital Auxiliary and Tathra Bush Fire Appeal. I would also like to acknowledge the sponsorship of Ulladulla Shower Screens who are very supportive of our Ladies Club, Raffles and 100 Club fantastic thank you to all for your support. My role as your Treasurer for the past year has been made easier with the wonderful support of our dedicated committee and sub-committee members. To President Cheryl, again a very good job being fair and informative to our members. To our talented secretary Sandra, I thank you so much for your help and support which is very much appreciated. Also to all the ladies that have volunteered their hours to be committee members, raffle sellers and cooks, many thanks for your time and dedication. Thank you also to the Club Limited, Secretary Manager Michael, Sharon, Judy and the entire bar staff, who are always a wonderful help to our ladies Club, they always greet and treat us with a friendly smile and service. Our thanks go to our talented greenkeepers Peter and Jason, the greens are always in magnificent condition. Congratulations to all our Club Champions and District Championship winners for this year, our No.3 Pennant Team my best wishes for the State Championship at the Entrance, also our No 5 Pennant team, didn t they do well. Pennant Travel has again been less expensive for the 2018 season. The new Tear is always a great opportunity to start with renewed enthusiasm to tackle the challenges of the year ahead. I would like to wish the incoming Committee Members all the very best for Come back to bowls refreshed and ready to once again experience another enjoyable year of bowls, the companionship and have fun. See you all on the greens. Jan Winter Hon. Treasurer 42 43

I would like to wish our Grade 3 s the best of luck at the State Playoffs in August. District games were well represented by our members and I am so pleased that our Senior Fours team of Cherilyn Brace, Sandra Crimmins, Jan Winter and Robyn Taylor came away winning the Championship. To Jo Cattley, what a wonderful effort in achieving Runners Up in the prestigious District Open Singles followed by being a member of the District Triples Team with Carmen Colusso and Rosalyn Jamieson who were also named Runners Up for the district, what a wonderful effort to all. During the last 12 months we have celebrated our 60th Birthday, Flag raising Day, bring a Friend Day and various special fund raising days all of which I cannot express enough how much I appreciate the work and efforts of baking and donations of raffle prizes that the committee and members go out of their way to help with and donate, I must say that we could not achieve all that we have done this year without you all, my sincere thanks and appreciation. To our members who have lost loved ones and to those who have or are suffering with illness our thoughts are always with you. Thank you all. President Cheryl Net Profit/(Loss) $2,

24 Well another year has passed very quickly. SECRETARY S REPORT 2018 This has been a very long and eventful year to say the least. Along with District, Family and Health it has been very challenging. I have however found a little solace in the giving away of the position of District Secretary. I have found that this position is not worth your health of family, so therefore someone else can have that worry. I would like to thank President Cheryl, Vice Presidents Kay and Robyn, Chair of Selection Ralda, and her Committee, Chair of Match Kath and her Committee, Chair of Social Bev and her Committee and the many volunteers who helped in Social also Margaret, Chair of General Purpose and her Committee for all the hard work that you all put in to make our Club a success. Thank you also to Deering Street Printers who donate our score cards and Ulladulla Glass for their ongoing sponsorship. I have to also thank Michael, Judy and Sharon for all their help, guidance and patience. Thanks also to the bar staff, and the greenkeepers for keeping the greens in such excellent condition. To Troy and Debbie in the Swordfish Restaurant for the lovely food that has been provided for our many functions. In conclusion I must say that I have enjoyed holding the position of secretary, as challenging as it is at times, but would not have managed without the help of President Cheryl and other Committee Members. I would like to again thank everyone.
