3 Tournament Date/Site June 2-4, 2018 Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell University 213 Warren Road Ithaca, NY Phone: Admission There is no charge for admission to the NYSPHSAA Boys Golf Championships. ID Badges Student-athletes and coaches will receive a badge from their Section Coordinator. It is recommended that coaches wear the badges while the student-athletes are golfing. Studentathletes should have their badges in their bags. Submitting Team Roster/Photo Section Coordinators submit the team photo via to programs@nysphsaa.org. In the SUBJECT LINE, please indicate the SECTION and SPORT. Photo submissions are due on Sunday, May 27 th. Section Coordinators submit the team roster on the NYSPHSAA website. Link: Contact Todd Nelson for questions pertaining to the photo/roster submission at tnelson@nysphsaa.org. Registration Registration will take place at the Robert Purcell Community Center desk located on the second floor of RPCC on the following days: Friday, June 1, 2018 Saturday, June 2, am to 2pm 9am to 2pm Any arrivals after 2pm on Saturday, June 2 go directly to the Conference Services desk on the first floor of Robert Purcell Community Center to check in. That desk is open until 11pm. Seven days a week. Code of Conduct New in 2016, schools are no longer required to bring the code of conduct with them to the tournament. 3

4 Team Housing/Dining Rooms have been reserved in Court Hall on North Campus for the NYSPHSAA Boys Golf Championship participants. Section Coordinators will register their players and coaches with Cornell Conference Services. Detailed rooming lists, when provided, will be consulted as rooms are assigned, with special care to ensure gender specific rooms and suites are carefully provided for. Residential and Event Services cannot guarantee the availability of specific rooms and will provide reasonable substitutes when necessary. 4

5 Team Supervision We urge all players to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner consistent with the principles of NYSPHSAA athletic participation. Each individual assigned to overnight lodging shall be responsible for any vandalism done to the room including theft. Any questions or problems concerning discipline of participating players and managers shall be addressed. Coaches are specifically responsible for the conduct of their respective teams/participants during all phases of the Tournament, including all travel to and from the tournaments. Early Arrivals and Late Departures Residential and Event Services cannot guarantee space for early arrivals or late departures unless this has been arranged and approved with Residential and Event Services in advance. Every attempt will be made to accommodate special requests. Lost Room Keys and Door Access Cards One room key and one door access card will be provided to each person residing in Court Hall. Keys and cards will be issued upon arrival and must be returned before leaving the University. If keys or cards are lost or not returned, client agrees to pay for the lock cylinder change and replacement of lost room keys at $80.00, and replacement of lost door access cards at $ Check out Time Check out time for conference participants will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 4, Any guests remaining in the residence hall past this time will be asked to pay for an additional night. If guests remain past check out time and do not pay, Client agrees to pay for additional room charges. Special Needs Housing Guests with special mobility needs or disabilities must specify their needs prior to the 7-day housing guarantee. Every reasonable attempt will be made to accommodate guests with special needs. Air Conditioning Client understands that many of the facilities at Cornell University are not air conditioned. Residential and Event Services makes no representations regarding the availability of air conditioning. Dining Hours Breakfast: 6:30-8:30am Saturday, Sunday, and Monday Dinner: 5:30-7:30pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Actual Meal Counts The dining attendant will perform an electronic count of all attendees with a conference name badge/swipe card. Attendees should be cautioned that if they leave and enter again during the 5

6 same meal period they may be counted twice. All participants that enter with a name badge/swipe card will be counted. Client agrees to pay for meals based on this number. There are NO refunds for purchases of advance meal tickets or meals not eaten, or for participants who depart early. Meals are available on a cash basis for participants who do not have a name badge. Dietary Restrictions Information regarding attendees with special dietary needs must be provided to Residential and Event Services with the 7-day guarantee. Every effort will be made to accommodate those individuals with special dietary needs. Team Beverages The American Dairy Association Northeast will be offering free chocolate milk throughout the championship. Please encourage your student-athletes to take one at the conclusion of their rounds. Bottled water will also be provided at strategic locations on the golf course. Transportation Transportation expenses at the rate of $1.35 per mile, per grid chart, for competing NYSPHSAA member schools will be paid by NYSPHSAA upon submission of a State Voucher by the participating Section Treasurer, directly to NYSPHSAA, 8 Airport Park Boulevard, Latham, New York Attn: Assistant Director. Regionals: All on-site expenses will be paid by the treasurer of the host section. All profit or loss at this level will be the responsibility of the competing sections. Semifinals and Finals: All on-site expenses will be paid by NYSPHSAA after submission of approved vouchers. Travel vouchers are available at Uniform It is recommended individuals wear their school golf shirt if a Section Golf Shirt is not provided. Markers and Rules Interpreters Local Rules will be reviewed at the players/coaches meeting. Spectator Guidelines will also be reviewed. Each Section is responsible for providing markers. At least two USGA officials will be present throughout the tournament. Awards Awards will be presented after the Final Round on Sunday, June 3rd at a presentation ceremony. - NYSPHSAA Participation Certificates will be given to all participants. - The Top 20 receive certificates - The Top 10 will receive a NYSPHSAA medal - 1st place will receive a medal, champion board, and champion t-shirt 6

7 - 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd place Section Teams will receive medals. 1 st place will also receive champion t-shirts. Sportsmanship The promotion of sportsmanship is a priority for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association. Athletes, coaches, and fans-give your best and be a great sport! One studentathlete from each Section will be chosen as the NYSPHSAA Sportsmanship Award Winner and will receive a T-Shirt. The student-athletes selected have consistently shown positive sportsmanship traits throughout the entire season. The Sportsmanship Award is given out on Sunday night at the players/coaches meeting. Golf Carts There are no golf carts available for coaches, student-athletes, or spectators. Press Chris Watson, NYSPHSAA Director of Communications will accept media credential requests. The Director of Communications must be satisfied that the request for a credential is made by a bona fide member of the working press (Daily/weekly newspaper, broadcast/community television station, and/or broadcast radio station). Bona fide members of the working press must contact Chris (cwatson@nysphsaa.org) prior to Wednesday, May 30 th at NOON to assure a credential(s) will be available for them. ALL MEDIA REQUESTS will be reviewed prior to the tournament. Facilities may not have phone lines/wifi available to the media transmission may need to be made through their own cellular phone system. Media & Film Rights Any requests for TV or radio coverage of NYSPHSAA Championship Events must be handled through the NYSPHSAA office one week prior to the contest. For radio contracts, visit and click on Media to download a tournament contract. Print and complete the contract then fax ( ) or to Chris Watson, Director of Communications, at cwatson@nysphsaa.org. He will approve all radio requests and forward an approved contract back to you with site information. The radio broadcasting fee is $250 per contest for semis and finals. A radio broadcasting agreement must be completed for EACH game. For any questions, contact Chris at (518) Spectrum is the exclusive television and digital media broadcast partner of NYSPHSAA and has all television AND STREAMING rights to regional, semi-final, and final contests. Any media outlet interested in broadcasting, must sublicense the games through Spectrum and NYSPHSAA. Please contact NYSPHSAA Assistant Director, Joe Altieri to request such approval (altieri@nysphsaa.org). Videotaping, for instructional purposes only with approval by the NYSPHSAA office. Such permission must be obtained at least three days prior to the contest. 7

First Tee is at 8:00am by Section. Each Section is assigned four tee times. Players will be given their tee times by their Section Coordinator. The range will open at 7:30am. Players/Coaches Meeting Time: 7:30pm Location: Robert Purcell Community Center Sunday, June 3 (First Round) The range will open at 8:00am. Tee times begin at 9:00am on 1 st and 10 th tee. Players/Coaches Meeting Time: 7:30pm Location: Robert Purcell Community Center Monday, June 4 (Final Round) The range will open at 7:00am. Tee times begin at 7:30am on 1 st and 10 th tee.
