This year, for our 8th annual Make A Difference Foundation (MAD) UK Charity Golf Day, we have selected a course described by BBC commentator Peter Alliss as it s hard to imagine a finer setting for an English golf course. The Manor House Golf Club is a spectacular course, coupled with 5 star hotels of Castle Combe, this will represent our finest MAD UK Golf package yet. Francois Pienaar became renowned when he played for South Africa s National Rugby Team, captaining the side in his first match and in every one of his 29 appearances, culminating in the famous victory at the World Cup in He has won many accolades, which include: South African Rugby Player of the Year 1993, International Rugby Player of the Year 1994, International Rugby Captain of the Year 1995, Rugby Personality of the Year nominated by the top 20 rugby writers in Britain in 1996, inducted into the International Hall of Fame in The Clint Eastwood produced inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela joined forces with the Captain (Francois Pienaar) of South Africa s rugby team, to help unite their country, once again enjoyed top of mind awareness with the release of the Oscar nominated film Invictus. The role of Madiba was played by Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon starred as Francois Pienaar. Nelson Mandela said: it was under his (Francois Pienaar s) inspiring leadership that rugby became the pride of the entire country, his leadership extended beyond the field of rugby and he truly represents all South Africans. Under his inspiring leadership a nation was brought together. MAD UK Golf Day Honorary Patron, Retief Goosen. The 2001 & 2004 US Open Champion Retief Goosen is one of the best golfers of his generation and is a truly global professional, holding membership on three PGA Tours; the US PGA Tour, the European Tour and the Southern African Tour, and winning tournaments in every corner of the world. Each one of us investing in these learners is connected to the pebble, the water and the effects of throwing. By supporting MAD you have caused change through a single and simple act. Legacy MAD Education Programme include merit and need based scholarships and education support for in excess of 1800 youngsters from primary school level until completion of tertiary education as well as on Community based Education Programmes. Sustainability. With the MAD Education Programme investment currently valued at R26, 7 million the focus is clearly on long term development. MAD believes in sustainable funding and therefore upholds a strong conservative financial strategy. MAD does not just rely on donations and Social Investment Programmes but actively secure funding through hosting of various quality fund raising events. Excellent Corporate Governance.
