3 General information Equitation, Working riding, In hand Utility & Performance riding: This show is traditionally one where riders try out a new class or a new height. Normal minimum requirements do however still apply in terms of dress code, tack and turn out. The fact that this is a Training show will however be taken into account during judging, especially in the Introduction classes. The tests for the equitation classes will be the same as Q1 Sanesa 2019 tests. Mini derby course: This event may include a ditch with jumps, Liverpool (water jump), a bank and upward or downward steps. Riders wil not be eliminated if horse refuses any obstacle (just penalised). After 2 attempts rider and horse must proceed to next obstacle. Other: SANESA and SAEF rules apply. School t shirts will be permitted in all classes, except Showing classes. A limited number of late entries and re entries will be accepted on the day at the judge s discretion. Late entries will be R200,00 and re entries will be R120,00 (riders won t compete for a place or prize) Cash only and payable at the judge of each particular arena. Ponies and horses will be limited to four classes for the day. Due to the number of jumps/lenght of the derby course, horses/ponies in this class may only do 2 more classes. The judge s decision in all matters is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Indemnity to be signed by all competitors or their parents/legal guardians I declare that the above particulars are true and agree to be bound by the relevant rules of SANESA. 8 Level 0: Primary & High School Performance Riding Test Performance Riding Tests Trot into the Arena straight to the judge; halt, introduce yourself. Walk away 4 to steps then trot half circle on a right rein. Change rein across the diagonal, walking approximately 10meters in the middle of the movement. Trot half circle on a left rein & continue trotting back to the judge. Halt in front of Judge. Remain mounted and stand the horse/pony up. Walk away from Judge and on Judges instruction trot horse/pony out of the arena. Level 1: Primary & High School Performance Riding Test: Trot into arena, halt in front of judge, introduce yourself. Walk away, to 10 steps, then trot. Trot a 3 loop serpentine, in the corner canter Canter ½ a circle, change rein across the diagonal with ten strides of trot, canter ½ circle on the other rein, then change rein. In the centre of the diagonal, trot 10 1 steps then walk. Walk back & halt in front of judge. Salute. Dismount, stand pony/horse, then on instruction walk away from the judge about 10m. Turn around, trot straight to the judge, keep trotting past the judge & out of the arena. Level 3: Primary & High School Performance Riding Test: Trot into arena, halt in front of judge, introduce yourself. Proceed at trot and in the corner canter. Canter a 3 loop serpentine, changing rein through trot. Continue at canter and lengthen the canter along the long side. Come back to trot, trot half a circle and change rein showing a few strides of lengthened trot across the diagonal, then trot back to the judge. Walk and halt in front of judge. Salute. Dismount, stand pony/horse, then, on instruction, walk away from the judge about 10m. Turn around, trot straight to the judge, and keep trotting past the judge & out of the arena.

9 Level : Primary & High School This class is judged as a SASA Novice Show Riding class and SASA rules re tack will apply. Only Snaffle & Pelham Bridels will be allowed. All competitors enter the arena together. The judge will call the required paces for the go round. On completion of the go round the judge will line up the competitors in order of preference. Each competitor will come out individually and present a Novice Show Riding test. This must include a trot, a few strides of extended trot, a canter on both reins and a square halt. On completion of the test, trot then walk and halt in front of the judge, salute then go back into line. Once in line, remove the saddle & when called forward stand up the pony/horse, then on instruction, walk away from the judge about 10m. Turn around, trot straight to the judge, and keep trotting past the judge. Return to the line up, re saddle and mount. Level 7: Primary & High School This class is judged as a SASA Show Riding class and SASA rules re tack will apply. Only Snaffle & Pelham Bridels will be allowed. TIME ALLOWED: min per test. Please familiarise yourself with these rules. All horses will be in the class at the same time and should a rider present after the start of the class, he will not be allowed to compete. There will be no ride by the judge. Conformation will be taken into account but type will not. A rider may only ride one horse/pony in this class
