Membership is open to anyone aged 3-25 years old. 2 Enter on day at ringside for gymkhana & all clear round jumping, mini jumping & dog show. Entries in advance taken for classes 1-31 & dressage. Entries close 1pm Sat 27th May. All entries received after that will be classed as late entries, 3 extra per competitor, per class. Late entries & entries on day permitted if space allows. DRESSAGE 9.30am pm RING 1 Entry fee 10, late entries/on day 13. Prizes 1 st -6 th in Classes A, B & C Class A BD Introductory Test B Class B BD Preliminary 12 Class C BD Novice 28 Classes A, B & C will run concurrently. For times ring Kate Dalton on on Saturday 27 th May 6-10pm. We will try to avoid clashes with other classes and will operate a flexible system i.e. will try to fit people in wherever possible if they are held up with other classes. Entries on the day if space permits, 3 extra. DOG SHOW 1.00pm pm An afternoon of fun with your dogs! There will be classes for working dogs, terriers & some fun classes too. Details of these classes will be available and publicised on a separate schedule. FUN SHOWING 9.30am RING 2 1. Fun Ridden Best Friend Judged on pony/horse s manners & suitability. Judge will ask riders why their pony/horse is special. 2. Fun In hand Best conditioned horse & handler! 3. Horse or pony judge would most like to take home Judged on pony/horse s way of going, manners and suitability 4. Best veteran horse or pony (15 years or over) Judged on pony/horse s way of going, manners and suitability 5. Fun family type pony or horse To be ridden by 2 different riders. One rider to start and the other rider to do a simple show. One show per pony / horse. Lead reins welcome. Cantering optional. ( 12 entry). Fun Championship for 1 st and 2 nd in classes 1-5. The David Rouse Cup 6. Approximately 1.00pm Fancy dress for ponies & horses. Hard hats please. The Lawn Cup GYMKHANA GAMES 2.00pm Entry fee classes 1-4 & 6 8 in advance, 10 late entry /on day Class 5 12 in advance, 15 on day If you want to take part in these, please turn up and we ll put you into suitable groups (eg leading rein, 10 & under, Over 10, adult). We will run one race for each group then move onto the next race. Rosettes 1 st -4 th in each race for each group. Race 1: trot up, run back Race 2: bending Race 3: cup race Race 4: ball in bucket Race 5: sack race Enter gymkhana on day at ringside, 2 per race.

Pony and rider must have attended a Pony Club rally in the last 12 months. Judged on pony/horse s way of going, manners, suitability and turnout. 11. Mountain & Moorland Ridden Large Breeds Welsh Section C & D, Connemara, New Forest, Dales, Fell & Highland. 14. Show Hunter Pony 15hh & under. No lead reins. 15. Riding Horse 15hh & over. Judge will not ride the horses. 16. Ridden Hunter 15hh & over. Judge will not ride the horses. Entry fee for classes 7-16: 8 in advance, 10 late entry/on day In classes 7-11, snaffles are not compulsory but the judge may take bit into account in assessing suitability of pony. The Folly s Memorial Shield MINI JUMPING 9.30am RING 4 Clear Round Jumping approx Starting at 9 going up to 1 6. This ring is designed to encourage novices. ringside 3. Proper Mini Jumping, ringside Tom Thumb Cup 1 (fences to remain at 1 in jump off ) Combination not to have come 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd at 1 or more 18. Rupert Bear Cup 1 open jumping (fences to remain at 1 in jump off ) 19. Stirrup Cup 1 6 (fences kept at 1 6 in jump off ) Combination not to have come 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd at 1 6 or more 20. Acorn Cup 1 6 open jumping (fences kept at 1 6 in jump off ) Fun Mini Jumping, not before 12.00pm (may be later if lots of entries in 17-20) X. Mini minute jumping ( 3) Jump as many fences as you can in a minute. If you knock a fence down you can t count that fence. Enter all mini jumping on day at ringside. Although the clear round jumping is scheduled for one hour , if you would like to do a round of mini clear round jumping at any stage during the day, eg after a problem in another ring, just ask at the mini jumping ringside and they will try to let you in. Y. Pairs ( 4) Go with a friend. One fence to be jumped together & marked. Scored on combination of time, jumping faults & dressing fence. Z. Horse & Hound ( 3) Jump the course on your pony, then on your feet, with your dog. Fastest round with least faults wins.

Numbers must be down by 9.30 am and the class will close at 10.00am, no exceptions. 21. (a) Pep Brookbanks Cup 2 Novice 12 yrs & under. Combination not to have won SJ at 2 or more. (b) Fulani Cup 2 Open. (a) & (b) will run concurrently 22. (a) Furneux Pelham Cup 2 3 Combination not to have come 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd at 2 3 or more (b) Sandon Saddlery Cup 2 3 Open. (a) & (b) will run concurrently 23. Joyce Hunter Cup 2 6 Entry fee for all SJ classes 8 in advance, 10 late entry / on day Open jumping. 24. Hill Challenge Cup 2 9 (not before 2pm) Open jumping. 25. Anderson Cup 3 Open jumping. In Classes 21-25, clear rounds will be invited to jump off over an altered, shortened, course. Why not stay and watch the SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP This will take place in ring 3 after the last qualifying class has taken place. The Supreme Championship is for the champions & reserves from the following: Mini Showing Championship (Ring 3) Ridden Showing Championship (Ring 3) Working Hunter Championship (Ring 6) The Morris Cup Rosettes to Supreme Champion & Reserve, and sash to Supreme

5 WORKING HUNTERS 9.30am RING 6 The judge will not ride the horses For classes 26-30, advance entries 8, late entries/on day for class 31 (no late entry fee for class 31). 26. Designed to encourage novice children. The Trelawn Cup Please note: In classes 26 & 27, only ponies with 0 and 4 jumping penalties will be required for showing phase. 28. Working Hunter Pony hh & under. The Bull Cup 29. Novice Working Hunter 2 6 Horses & ponies any height Red Rae Challenge Shield ( 5 entries) In classes 28 30, clear rounds only will proceed to showing phase, unless less than 6 go clear in which case those on 4 pens will also be invited to show. These guidelines may be altered at the judges discretion. 30. Open Working Hunter 2 9 (not before 1.30pm) Horses & ponies any height The Walker Cup WH Championship for 1 st and 2 nd in classes Champion & Reserve to qualify for Supreme Championship. The Pitman Cup For classes 26-30, advance entries 8 10 late entries/on day. 15 for class 31. No late entry fee for class Brent Pelham Hunter Challenge Teams of 3. Give your team a name. Relay over working hunter fences 2 6, with an optional joker fence at 2 9. Fastest team of 3 wins (knockdowns add time). Baton is hunting whip without thong (provided). Prize to highest placed team with 3 combinations who have hunted with the Puckeridge Hunt this season. Entry fee 15 per team. 6 Conditions of Entry 1. The Judge s decision is final. 2. Correct riding attire must be worn at all times. Hard hats which comply with current safety regulations to be worn by any person riding on the show ground at all times. 3. No entry money will be refunded. 4. Any competitor may be warned or disqualified for improper or excessive use of whips, spurs etc. or other action which the judges or officials consider warrants such penalty. 5. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry and alter the schedule if necessary. 6. All complaints must be in writing and handed to the secretary with a deposit of 15 within 15 minutes of the incident, returnable if the objection is upheld. 7. It is a condition of entry to the Brent Pelham Horse Show for all riders, horse owners and spectators that they do so at their own risk and neither the organisers of any event to which these rules apply nor any agent, employee or any representative of these bodies acting on their behalf accept any liability for any loss, damage, or injury to riders, horses, ponies, dogs, spectators, property, cars, horse boxes, trailers, vehicles, their contents and accessories whatsoever, so far as permitted by law, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way. 8. Health & Safety. The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For those measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers, their officials and stewards. 9. The age of the rider is their age at the date of the show. DOGS ON LEADS AT ALL TIMES Hot food by Jack s Snacks from Newmarket (locally sourced fresh ingredients) HOME MADE CAKES STALL Trophies: the cups named on the schedule are to be awarded to the winner of the relevant class. Due to the monetary and sentimental value of the cups (all have been donated by show supporters), a deposit will be required from winners who are not Puckeridge Hunt/Puckeridge Hunt Pony Club/Puckeridge Western Pony Club members. Previously, cups were only awarded to members. We trust that competitors will understand the need for a deposit. Deposits will be returned when the trophy is returned for the 2018 show... so... if you think you might win, please bring a cheque book! Rosettes: 1 st - 6 th in all classes (to 4 th in gymkhana).
