1 THE BRITISH CONNEMARA PONY SOCIETY NATIONAL PERFORMANCE DAY 2018 In conjunction with the Open Unaffiliated One Day Event at Chilham Park, Canterbury,Kent SUNDAY 9th SEPTEMBER 2018 at Chilham Castle Estate,Canterbury, Kent, CT4 8DB All One Day Event Entries to be made directly with Chilham Park: Please mark your entry as a Connemara entry. You will need to enter the ODE with Chilham Park and then send your BCPS individual section entries by post to: Dawn Webb, 2 Chestnut Grove, Wolston, Warwickshire. CV8 3HY miss_d_webb@yahoo.co.uk (Schedules for entries for the Open ODE for non Connemaras on Chilham Park web site) All classes and sections are open to registered pure and part bred Connemaras ENTRIES OPEN Wednesday 1st August 2018 Chilham ballot date is 3 rd September We have to fit our entries in with Chilham Park classes so please enter early to avoid disappointment. Entries will only be accepted by post on the entry form provided or online. ENTRIES BY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Event Medic Services in attendance. Stabling and B and B available. Please contact Ali at Chilham Park Hot and cold refreshments. On site tack shop, refreshments and toilets available You must enter the Chilham Park One Day Event to be allowed to compete. All five sections in a class can be entered, (except for Class 1) with the BCPS for 25 The Dressage test to be ridden once and the jumping rounds once also. If the SJ is entered as a separate event the one event round will be timed by the BCPS Rosettes to 8th place will be awarded in each section. ( A free Points card for the Performance Award Scheme can be claimed for entering the competition) The ODE section entry fee ( 45) goes directly to the main Chilham Park event, if you have entered the individual sections as well please enter for just the individual sections with Dawn Webb BCPS at 25, this pays for your BCPS rosettes. We would not be able to offer this event if it wasn t for the helpers and volunteers at Chilham Park so if anyone feels that they can offer any help please let us know. If entering a non-connemara in the One Day Event, please enter directly with Chilham Park

Open to pony or rider not to have been placed 1 st to 3 rd in any competition at 80cms or higher, within the two years prior to the date of this competition. Section A Dressage BE91 ( 5 individual entry to BCPS) Section B Combined Training ( 5 individual entry to BCPS. Dressage and Show Jumping scores to count) Section C One Day Event ( jumping phases occur in a single field, with the entire course visible from the start/finish area. ) Entry fee 45 to Chilham Park (+ 10 start fee payable when collecting number to Chilham Park) CLASS 2 REALLY NOVICE Jumps max 70cm (2ft 3in approx.) Dressage BE91 (2009) Open to pony or rider not to have been placed 1 st to 3 rd in any competition at 90cms or higher, within the two years prior to the date of this competition. Dressage BE 95 Open to pony and rider not to have been placed 1 st to 3 rd in any competition at 110cms or higher, within the two years prior to this competition. The Tidbury Plate to the highest placed Connemara member Section B Show Jumping 90cm (if entered in this class separately, first round will be timed by the BCPS) ( 8 individual entry fee.) The Hellings Trophy to the highest placed pure bred Connemara Section C Cross Country 90cm ( 8 individual entry fee.) Section D Combined Training Dressage BE 95 SJ 90cm ( 8 individual entry fee.) Section E One Day Event Dressage 45 entry fee. 4 BCPS Points Trophies awarded to members for the Performance Day and presented at the PAS prize giving in November Granite Grey Trophy to the pure bred Connemara Mare with the most points during the day Great Bradley Henry Bell Trophy to the pure bred Connemara Gelding with the most points during the day. Christopher Columbus Trophy to the pure bred 13.2hh and under Connemara with most points during the day. The Hearnesbrook Trophy to the registered Part Bred with the most points during the day. The Mystic Isle Trophy to the pure bred Connemara mare with the highest Dressage percentage of the day. The Fawcett Trophy to the junior member, 14 years and under, in classes 3 and 4 with the most points on the day. The course will be open for walking between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday 8th September (dogs to be kept on leads at all times) There is a water complex on the course. If walking the course on the Sunday, please be aware of competitors already on the course. The committee decision is final on the day. Competitors must wear correct riding attire. Hard hats conforming to PAS015,EN 1384 or higher must be worn and chinstraps fastened at all times. Body protectors and medical armbands are compulsory for the Cross Country phase. The decision of the judges and organisers is final in all respects. Outside assistance is forbidden in all classes. In the event of cancellation, please see the Chilham Park website for terms. All droppings and rubbish must be removed from the showground. Any complaint must be made in writing to the secretary within 30 minutes of the incident taking place. CHILHAM PARK OPERATE THE NEW BE RULE 5.15 a fall in any phase results in elimination LEGAL LIABILITY Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of the event, nor the British Connemara Pony Society, nor any agent employee or representative of these bodies accepts any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, and or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Everything reasonably practicable is done to ensure the health, safety and welfare of those attending the event. The organisers have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take reasonable responsibility to avoid accidents and must obey the instructions of the organisers and stewards. Section times will be available on the Chilham Park web site or by phone on Thursday 6 th September between and ODE and X Country number bibs to be collected on the day from the Chilham Park Secretary, together with 10 start fee, as with all numbers, sheets, scores etc. The Secretary reserves the right to amalgamate any classes if there are insufficient entries. Connemara competitors to report to the Connemara Secretary in the tent for numbers, scores etc. Remember that you can enter each phase ( except Class 1) of the One Day Event as an individual class, once you have entered the Chilham Park ODE.
