No overall placing rosettes will be awarded for the Triathlon, only phase rosettes, within the above Tetrathlon classes. (*) P.C. Age on 01/01/2018 (**) Competitors aged PC 7 who have their 8 th birthday on or before 16 th July 2018 may choose to enter either class 9/10 or class 11 (ONLY if they have had some shooting practice). (***) Grassroot Rules (APPENDIX H of Tetrathlon Rulebook) Conditions of Entry DC Signature Please ensure all entry forms are signed by your respective DCs. It might be a good idea to coordinate entries and have all entries from a branch on one form. (This is just a suggestion) Legal Liability Neither the organiser, landowner nor any person acting on their behalf, accepts any liability for loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to competitors, spectators or any person or property. Health and Safety The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the Health and Safety of every one present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring by obeying instructions of the organiser, officials and stewards.

3 General The competition will be run under the Pony Club Tetrathlon Rules The organisers ask everyone to be considerate of other competitors, helpers and especially the staff at the various venues. Photographic rights Photographic Rights - competitors and their guardians give permission for any photographic and/or film or TV footage taken of persons or horses/ponies taking part in Pony Club events to be used and published in any media whatsoever for editorial purposes, press information or advertising by or on behalf of The Pony Club and/or official sponsors of The Pony Club. Competition Format (This is an Area 1&19 competition and NOT a Scottish Tetrathlon competition) The Tetrathlon competition is for both individuals and branch teams (including mixed gender teams and mixed branch teams see page of 2018 rule book) within the same class which will consist of 3 or 4 members, with 3 to count. Competitors may compete in an older age group if deemed safe and capable by Scottish Tetrathlon and Branch DC (please consult with Sloan Smith prior to completing your entry). NB Mixed Branch Teams cannot qualify for Championships. Area 1&19 qualify separately. Grassroots (this is not a qualifier) A branch and centre team competition, 3-4 members, mixed gender. All grassroots entrants may also choose to enter the XC HC for an additional fee. If you wish to jump the XC please make it clear on entry form. One entry form per grassroots team please. Individuals of any age may enter the Grassroots competition and may be offered a place in a team that is short of competitors. Individuals will not qualify. Mixed branch/centre teams may be possible at the discretion of Scottish Tetrathlon please talk to Sloan:- sloan05@outlook.com if you wish to explore this option, (cherry picking of teams will be frowned upon). See Appendix E of the 2018 Rulebook. Shooting Competitors in classes 1-10 and 12 must have received some shoot training and be safe and competent to shoot. All guns must be kept boxed and secure and in the possession of a responsible person (licence holder) over the age of 18 years at all times except during the shooting competition when under the supervision of the shooting steward. Cross Country All competitors entering the XC will be required to bring their own number bib. Competitors may opt to ride any XC height with a 250 point deduction per drop. They will not qualify. Dogs must be on leads at all times. The XC courses will have L fence options at the more difficult fences. Please make sure that all competitors understand the concept of L fences. Elimination at a fence with an L option is unforgiveable!

4 Intro Class Will ride a course of small SJ/WH jumps within an arena, max height <45cm there will be a slip rail and a halt box. Outside assistance can be given at any time with penalty of a 500 points deduction. Otherwise scoring will be lenient as per Arena Jumping in the Rulebook (Appendix C). Teams Please indicate on the form which competitors are in which teams by way of letters (ie (A,B,C etc) and on the back of the form a name for that team ONLY if you have more than ONE branch/centre team in a class. Mini teams and below will compete against teams from all of Scotland ie Not just teams from same Area Stabling No stabling will be organised by Scottish Tetrathlon this year. Times will be available on the Scottish Tetrathlon website: - and the Scottish Tetrathlon Facebook page or before Thursday 12 th July Withdrawals Withdrawals made after 5 th of July 2018 will only be refunded 50% of any entry monies paid. Withdrawals after 12 th July will receive no refund. Discretion may be given in extreme circumstances. Outline Programme:- Monday Shooting, Running, Swimming XC Course Walk Tuesday XC/Arena and Prize Giving As a Member of The Pony Club, I stand for the best in sportsmanship as well as in horsemanship. I shall compete for the enjoyment of the game well played and take winning or losing in my stride, remembering that without good manners and temper, sport loses its cause for being. I shall endeavour to treat my horse with consideration.
