2 Penzance Horse Show aims to provide a friendly and competitive atmosphere where you can experience a range of showing, jumping and fun classes. We also have a fun dog show, trade stands and refreshments. All showing classes can be pre- entered and will be 2 extra on the day. Please note that entries for the unaffiliated jumping, gymkhana, clear round and dog show are to be entered on the day at the ringside. Please pre- enter by sending the form, along with a cheque made payable to Penzance and District Agricultural Society to the specified person. 12 THE PENZANCE & DISTRICT AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY The committee wishes all competitors, supporters and visitors to the show a most successful and enjoyable day. Should it be necessary to call for the vet or farrier then the payment will be the responsibility of the horse owner. DIRECTIONS 1. From the A30 in Penzance at the Tesco roundabout follow the road as if going into town. Take the first turning on the right (B3311) signposted Gulval and Chysauster. Follow this road through Gulval, up Kenegie Hill and Kenegie Farm will be on your left, you will see the show signs. 2. Also from the A30 it is possible to come through Ludgvan. At Crowlas turn right to Ludgvan and Chysauster. Follow this road through Ludgvan until you come to a T junction (Castle Gate). Turn left and after about ½ mile you will come to Badgers Cross, carry on downhill and past Gulval Cricket Club. Kenegie Farm will be on your right and you will see the show signs. 3. From Helston coming into Penzance on the A394. At the Marazion roundabout you take the A30 into Penzance and then follow the directions as in 1. above or take the A30 towards Redruth and then follow the directions as in 2 above. RULES The Show Committee, owner or tenant will not accept responsibility for any accident, however caused, on the showground. It is advised that all competitors should have their own public liability insurance Anyone who suffers an injury whilst on the showground must report it within one hour to the Secretary who will record it in a register. The judge s decision is final. It is not permitted to address a judge whilst adjudicating unless requested by them. Protests must be accompanied by a deposit of 25 to be forfeited if the Show Committee consider the protest to be frivolous or otherwise not reasonable. The decision of the Show Committee will be considered final in respect of any dispute. Prize money may be withheld if there are less than three entries. All cups are the responsibility of the winners. Winners will be asked to sign for the cups. Cups must be returned in good condition and clean two months before the show date. Winners are responsible for engraving their names on the cups. No horse or pony may be entered more than once in each class. No horses to be left unattended tied to trailers/lorries. No sticks over 30 or spurs to be used in any NPA showing classes. Riders of lead rein ponies should be at least 3 years old. British Safety Standard hard hats must be worn at all times. The following standards and specifications are currently considered to provide the best protection available: EN1384 (with kitemark or SE1) PAS 015 or ASTM F1163 (with kitemark or SE1). Hard hats must be worn by all handlers aged 14 or under at all times. The Show Committee reserve the right to make any alterations they deem appropriate. No competitor shall show a stallion for which they are responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete in any showing or show jumping competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure members of the public and other competitors are not put at risk of injury. No horses/ponies to be left unattended at any time. Three year old fillies with foals at foot may not be shown. All foals must be a minimum of three weeks old on the day of the show. In ridden classes, if a rider falls off at any time whilst in the ring both horse and rider must leave the ring, rider dismounted and take no further part. In the interest of safety no horse boxes or trailers are to park on the main fields. The committee have the right to remove anyone who breaks health & safety regulations. 12
