MAX LA FRIPOUILLE - Seventh in a Class E handicap at Chantilly last month. Has been holding form at this level fairly well but received no respite from the handicapper 3. DESERT WARRIOR - Has won three of his last four including a Class G handicap at Salon-Provence last month and comes in here with all guns blazing. Tough task today at the weights 4. TRES SOLID - Won a Class E claimer here earlier this month. No win from ten

ALACOVIA - Has won four of her ten races to date including a Class D race here earlier this month and is not without a chance here today 6. TEMPLE BOY - Second of fourteen behind Mer Et Jardin in a Class D handicap at Lyon Parilly last time out in November. Has place prospects again today 7. CHILL WIND - Tenth of fourteen behind Lucky Team in a Class E handicap at Deauville last time out. After some disappointing runs he is back on a fair mark 8. ROSNY - Tenth of fourteen behind Emeraude Flower in a Class E handicap at Marseille Vivaux last time out. That was a disappointing effort and maybe a little bit high in the handicap at the moment 9. DARK DREAM - Tenth of sixteen behind Swertia in a Class E handicap at Deauville last time out in November. Likes it around here and is on a fair handicap mark at the moment 10. ALENCON - Well beaten lasst of seven here behind Zack Hope in a Class D race earlier this month. Needs to improve from that to feature today 11. BELGIAN GENTLEMAN - Tenth of fourteen behind Emeraude Flower in a Class E handicap at Marseille Vivaux last time out. Well capable on his day and not without a chance 12. MORTREE - Won a Class D handicap at Saint-Cloud last April but has had two poor runs since then. Capable on her day and a fair effort here recently 13. MULTIDEAL - Third of sixteen here on the sand behind Into The Rock in a Class E handicap eight days ago. In decent form and could run in to a place today 14. DARK DESIRE - Fourth of fifteen behind Mister Smart in a Class E handicap at Deauville earlier this month. That was a good performance and must be respected 15. MONTESQUIEU - Eight of ten behind Tres Solid in a Class E claimer here earlier this month. That was disappointing but he is on a fair mark at present 16. MONFRERE - Eight of fourteen behind Mer Et Jardin in a Class D handicap at Lyon Parilly last time out in November. Won two handicaps last year but plenty to do here 17. SWISS MAN - Four time winner from fifty one career starts and in fairness rarely runs a bad race. Third in a Class E claimer here this month but looks exposed 18. COSMIC CITY - Eight of ten behind Tres Solid in a Class E claimer here earlier this month. Will need to improve from that run to have a chance here today

3 Summary Although disappointing last time out at Marseille Vivaux (11) BELGIAN GENTLEMAN did win a Class E race there last month. He has some decent form on the turf and off what is still a fair handicap mark he gets a tentative vote today. The top weight (1) ICE KEN was a Class 1 winner at Angers in November and cannot be ruled out. (5) ALACOVIA and (7) CHILL WIND are two more for the short list. (2) MAX LA FRIPOUILLE is another to consider. PONTILLE - Much improved from debut when scoring easily at Hyeres and winning a Class 1 race at Lyon Parilly in November. Respected 3. WOOLDIX - Won three of his ten career runs and a fair effort in a handicap here recently 4. BEAU MASSAGOT - A good fourth in a Listed race at Chantilly last time out in November. Place prospects here 5. KOUTSOUNAKOS - Won on first French start in a Deauville claimer last month but a poor run here since 6. RIVER CANNES - Has won two of her five career runs including at Deauville last month. Can have a say today 7. LAMCHOPE - Won a claimer at Deauville earlier this month. Tougher test here today but not ruled out 8. CEAD MILE FAILTE - Won her first two starts last year but a poor effort on her comeback here this month 9. ILLADORE - Won a claimer at Pau earlier this month but faces better opposition today 10. PEACEFUL CITY - Good recent form winning two of her last four at Marseille Vivaux. More required here Summary After winning impressively at Hyeres in October (2) PONTILLE stepped up to win a Class 1 race at Lyon Parilly in November. She is the selection to make a winning debut on the sand today. (7) LAMCHOPE has been steadily improving and must be respected going for three wins in a row. CHANTE BLU - One win from ten career outings and a fair third in a handicap here recently 3. ARABICA - Fourth behind Batwan in a maiden here earlier this month. Not ruled out today 4. BALLOT BOX - Won a handicap in Ireland last August but probably best watched here on French debut 5. COLLEVILLE - Well held in a handicap here earlier this month. Needs to improve to feature today 6. VADLANA - A close second to Pompogne in a claimer here recently over 1600m. Place claims today 7. MORE JAZZ - Fifth behind The Full Swipe here last time out and is unlikely to feature in this race 8. SOME NIGHTS - Disappointing last time out here behind No Speed Limit in a handicap. More required 9. SCREEN CITY - Won a claimer in Italy earlier this month but a tough test on French debut today 10. RACHAEL'S ROCKET - Third behind Maeghan in a claimer here six days ago and could give a good account today 11. JUST FOR FUN - Achieved one victory in the UK last season but four efforts on this side lacked any sparkle 12. THOUSAND OAKS - Runner up behind The Full Swipe in a claimer at Marseille Vivaux last time out. Can be in the mix 13. RED VANCOUVER - Runner up on debut last season but has not come forward since then so best watched Summary (3) ARABICA ran well when fourth behind Batwan in a decent maiden race here earlier this month. Dropped in to claiming company for the first time today she gets the vote ahead of (12) THOUSAND OAKS who was runner up in a claimer at Marseille Vivaux earlier this month and must be respected. QUEEN AGDAL - Just two victories after thirty six career runs and likely to struggle today 3. END OF STORY - Six time winner from forty one career starts but poor the last few times 4. TOP SENSATION - Unplaced in a Class E handicap here recently but looks well handicapped at present 5. MAGIC MAC - Sixth of eighteen here behind Rebel Lightning in a Class E handicap recently. Respected 6. PRINCESS EMMA - Only three wins from forty two career starts and last effort was poor so must do better 7. ASTERION - Recent displays in this grade leave a lot to be desired. Hard to recommend 8. FAST CHARLIE - Capable of a better showing than last run. Could be in the shake-up today 9. LIGHT OF THE WORLD - Unplaced in a Class G handicap at Pornichet last time out. More required here 10. ISSAUROMA - Has not won since last June but is reasonably well handicapped at the moment 11. SPIRIT OF TEOFILO - Dropping down the ratings but a decent effort here last time out and has place claims today 12. PRINCE DE PERSE - Poor recent form and probably a reflection of his chances. Unlikely to pose a threat 13. ICE COOL - Nine time winner from eighty nine starts and is better than he showed here recently 14. MONTAIGNE - One win from seventeen career starts but form appears to be on the downgrade 15. MESONERA - Fourth here behind Molense Chop in a Class E handicap recently. On a fair mark 16. BERET - His last few outings have been very disappointing. Needs to improve from those 17. PRESS OFFICER - Poor last two runs but is capable of better. Could finish on the money

8 Summary Christophe Soumillon takes the ride here on (5) MAGIC MAC who ran well here when sixth behind Rebel Lightning in a Class E handicap this month. He is the selection to record his fourth career success today. (17) PRESS OFFICER and (11) SPIRIT OF TEOFILO are both well handicapped and cannot be ruled out. MIRACLE DES AIGLES - Four time winner from twenty eight but soundly beaten last time at Deauville 3. CAVAPRUN - Has won a third of his fifteen runs and currently on the hat trick following two wins at Deauville 4. MARKAZI - Five time winner from eleven and very smart on his day. May have needed reappearance 5. DREAM DY - Dual winner from thirteen but below par here last time and work to do 6. CREPUSCULEDESDIEUX - Very handsome profile with eleven wins from fifty one and should be recognized 7. KING PLATIN - Twice a winner from twenty five but seems on the back foot nowadays. Must improve Summary A small but select enough field go to post for this conditions event and though the ratings say otherwise there can be a very solid case put forward for the handicapper (6) CREPUSCULEDESDIEUX who might be best suited of all should this become tactical. (4) MARKAZI is the obvious favourite and should be right in the mix. (3) CAVAPRUN and (1) ROYAL JULIUS are big hopes too. 10 Race 6 1. MOLESNE CHOP - Bounced back to form with a comfortable win over course and distance here last time 2. BOYWAY CERISY - Eight time winner from sixty but both efforts this season are very poor 3. CAUFIELD - Half a dozen wins from fifty five but way below par for a while now so overlooked 4. FLYING SCOTSMAN - Eight time winning veteran from over a century of starts but others preferred now 5. EL VALLE - Dual winner from thirty three and third behind Molesne Chop here latest 6. PAKISTAN TREASURE - Still a maiden after eleven but has finished runner up in two of his last four efforts 7. SHANABALA - She is a triple winner from forty runs but very difficult to fancy even for a place 8. BLACK PRINCESS - Has won four from fifty two but latest few runs are extremely poor and not fancied 9. ESTARQUEFIGUE - Has won five times in eighty runs but way down the field in last couple 10. MIRASOL - Just the one victory from twenty five and those statistics are poor to say the least 11. FULL TALENT - Yet to win from a dozen runs and basically has little or no chance once more 12. STERLING LINES - Just the one win from forty seven and would be needing to improve that record 13. PASSIOR - Has won half a dozen times from eighty nine but each way is surely best hope 14. KASKARAU - A four time winner from fifty five but last two runs definitely need explaining 15. IRONSTONE - Seven time winner from sixty three but record has become very patchy indeed 16. ALTARE SI - Ten time winner from over a century of starts but looks a complete outsider now 17. PER - Is still a maiden after fifty three runs and surely has zero chance of bagging this

11 Summary There might be a lot of quantity here but there is a dearth of quality and many of them seem to have no hope at all. One that does seem to have a better chance than most however is (1) MOLESNE CHOP who fairly bolted up here recently over the course and distance and can confirm the form with (5) EL VALLE and (13) PASSIOR. The other two to concentrate on are (6) PAKISTAN TREASURE and (8) BLACK PRINCESS. Selections (1) MOLESNE CHOP - (5) EL VALLE - (13) PASSIOR - (6) PAKISTAN TREASURE - (8) BLACK PRINCESS

12 Race 7 1. AJMANY - Nine time winner from forty including over course and distance last time out 2. ZARIYANO - Five time winner from forty nine and generally consistent so best forgive latest 3. MOTABAARY - Half a dozen wins from thirty two and despite long time without win must be considered 4. HANDCHOP - Triple winner from eighteen but looks a huge outsider today for this and tossed aside 5. CAMPILLO - Very good strike rate with sixteen from forty six and surely must be looked at 6. MUHTAFACE - 7. SKY PATH - Just the one win from thirty seven and basically impossible to fancy here 8. SPIDERWOMAN - Unplaced in both outings to date and must make a huge leap forward to have any hope Summary This small field claimer can go the way of (1) AJMANY who is very reliable in this grade of contest and comes in here off the back of a course and distance win and should really be able to back that up now. QUIET ZAIN - Dual winner from thirteen including here last time so must have a really big shout 3. ESTRELLA ERIA - Has won four of her eighteen but looks a bit of a forlorn hope here today 4. GRAND GALA - He is a four time winner from forty eight and could be slipping to a good mark nowadays 5. KING DREAM - Triple winner from forty five and not beaten too far here the last time so has a shout 6. VARING - Seven time winner from eighty one but has work to do on first start of the campaign 7. ZINZICHERA - Five time winner from thirty two including penultimate start but can be hit and miss 8. ARMYR - He is six from twenty eight and has been running well over the jumps but is a longshot 9. ZILLION DOLLAR CUP - A seven time winner from eighty but last couple of efforts have been disappointing 10. SIMANO - Triple winner from thirty five but has been well below par for a while 11. DARLING DE LOIRE - Has won three from thirty eight but may need to drop another pound or so 12. PER PERDES - Placed in three of her six runs but may be a pound too high in the handicap 13. KEN TAH TEN - Triple winner from thirty one but must put up improved performance to figure 14. OUTBACK RACER - Triple winner from thirty four including last time at Salon-de-Provence 15. NOSTALBOWL - Just the one carer win from twenty seven and easy to look elsewhere today 16. CALAJANI - Just the one win from twenty five but there will be worse outsiders here 17. WIN ON SUNDAY - Dual winner from forty seven and was a better third last time out. Needs to build on that 18. YARD BIRD - Remains a maiden after nineteen runs and is simple to leave

14 out of calculations Summary Just the simple puzzle of an eighteen runner affair to sort here for punters before the supper. (1) RANDULINA might be the one for them to afford the steak instead of beans. She has threatened big time in her latest three outings and can get the job done this time. (2) QUIET ZAIN has to be included in any bet too. Also look at (4) GRAND GALA and (5) KING DREAM with hopes for (14) OUTBACK RACER as well. CALVIA - Has not been at her most rewarding this term and others preferred 2. CAPRICE DU BISSON - Useful type with form at this level. Has two races in him since the long layoff and with hind shoes off for the occasion must not be underestimated 3. COEUR D'ALESA - Handy sort when focused but has done nothing in either return start and chances limited 4. CHAYANE DE CALVI - Not the most reliable but encouraged at Nantes midmonth and is sufficiently well placed to give this a good go 5. CLARA SAUTONNE - Tends to give a good account when applied but winter campaign curtailed and not a player 6. CARLITA - Not always the best behaved but has won four of the last five races she has finished and the nature of her latest success augurs well for her chances 7. CAMPEONE VAS - Good consistent campaigner with two conditioning runs under his belt. Starts in front and will have a role to play 8. CARODOR - Delicate sort with better credentials in the claiming division and can expect to have few friends here 9. CRAZY WELL - Excellent since the spell with two fine performances. Goes well right-handed and despite the second-row draw is still the pick of the bunch 10. CAMPIONE MIO - Like a horse reborn since returning to racing barefoot. Won both since his re-entry and although stepping up in class should still figure prominently 11. CLINT D'AMBRI - Has raced very modestly for some time and can be confidently ruled out 12. CRISTAL DES BAUX - Well-beaten but respectable third to (10) CAMPIONE MIO on comeback at Toulouse recently. Stays shod though and unlikely to repeat Summary

16 After a productive autumn (9) CRAZY WELL has looked even sharper since the spell and although on the second line here will still take some beating. For her part (6) CARLITA has never disappointed when applied and given the better draw can put up significant opposition if she can keep her action together. (10) CAMPIONE MIO has been on a roll since the autumn and with two wins to his name since the break should take the step up in class in his stride. The hardy (7) CAMPEONE VAS will be at peak fitness by now and should not be far from the action. Selections (9) CRAZY WELL - (6) CARLITA - (10) CAMPIONE MIO - (7) CAMPEONE VAS

17 Race 2 1. VEAULNES TIVOLI - Won a claimer over course and distance mid-december and although in better company this time should still not be written off 2. VITE ALDO - Seldom far from the action when applied. Was not disgraced last time here and can expect to generate some interest 3. CLASSIC DES CHAMPS - Has hardly set a foot wrong since the autumn. Steps up in class for his first outing under the saddle but breaks from the front and must be respected 4. APACHE D'ENFER - Pleased for the most part this winter but shoes on for just his second start under the saddle and not an obvious choice 5. BACCHUS DA VINCI - Has failed to make the frame in his last 11 outings and will not be worrying the opposition 6. AMAYA DJOB - Nothing to like on her formsheet for over a year and can be disregarded 7. BELLE VUE MICHA - Dynamic under the saddle but has not been seen out for five months and unlikely to be at her peak 8. ASCAIN - Very faithful for the most part in this code. Unable to threaten last time but front shoes off and will not be far off the mark 9. AULYNX D'ANY - Not the most reliable but put on a good show over course and distance late December and should be able to go close 10. USHUAIA D'ISOP - Pleased in her last three efforts including when fifth to (9) AULYNX D'ANY but will not be helped by the extra 25 m 11. VOLCANO OF LIFE - Gave a decent account on ridden debut at Cagnes earlier in the month but still has more to find 12. ASLY DE FLORANGE - Hardy type in the ridden code and although unraced for almost three months is barefoot for the occasion and should not be discounted 13. UNIVERS DE SUCE - Has looked decidedly ordinary since the summer and can be ruled out 14. BELLAYA - Appears to be back at the top of her game. Top jockey on board for her return to ridden competition and can impose 15. ATOUT DE FONTAINE - Regularly gives everything he has but drops back in class after a modest effort at Vincennes and should redeem himself somewhat 16. UN DU BUISSON - Has failed to show any obvious aptitude for the ridden code and in current shape will have nothing to give 17. BLASON DU CEBE - In excellent condition this winter. Drops back in class

18 following some good efforts in Paris and looks a leading contender Summary (14) BELLAYA has finished in the frame in three of her last four under harness and with Alexandre Abrivard in the saddle can get straight back to winning ways. She is sure to be opposed by (17) BLASON DU CEBE who has enjoyed a rewarding run in Paris this winter. (9) AULYNX D'ANY latterly gave a solid performance over course and distance and in similar shape should make the frame once again. The faithful (8) ASCAIN was unplaced that time but goes unshod in front and looks competitively well in. (15) ATOUT DE FONTAINE drops down the class ladder and should be eminently capable of making the first five this time. 19 Race 3 1. BANKSTER JEEP - Complicated type that has made no impression since his return to competition and can be passed over 2. BANCO TEJY - Consistent for the most part. In the frame in his last two and although unraced since early December will have his chances 3. ACAJOU TROPICAL - Surprising winner at Agen last Sunday and although unlikely to repeat he starts in front and will generate interest 4. BALZAC DU CLOS - Capable sort when applied. Left a good impression at Nantes on re-entry and will have his supporters 5. BICHE DE RIVIERE - A model of consistency since the autumn. Gave a good account again at Toulouse recently and must be respected 6. AVENIR LIMOUSIN - Beat (14) APOLLON DE SUCE at Montauban last month after four straight sanctions and if applied can again make the most of his 25m advantage 7. BEST OFF DE CHENU - Undeniably capable but very delicate individual. Unseen since October and will need the run 8. BOUM DU SOIR - Respectable trotter dropping back in class. Has an excellent entry on the front line and should not be far off the mark 9. APACHE FOSCA - Made up for some poor runs with a good effort mid-month and in similar form will have a good hand to play 10. ALLIANCE DE BOUERE - Has shown respectable aptitude at this level but unplaced in last two and others preferred 11. AMOUR CHOISI - Sprang something of a surprise last time out but chances slim at best on this occasion 12. ANTILOPE D'EPUISAY - Has taken particularly well to the amateur division and although shod this time still looks a leading candidate 13. BEAUTE D'ATOUT - Finished close in two of her last three but will need to improve on latest Agen performance 14. APOLLON DE SUCE - Consistently gives a good account in this category. Blew his chances at Toulouse last time but is clearly in shape and can make this his own 15. UBU DE LA MESLIERE - Useful type on a good day but has not made the frame in his last six and must raise his game 16. BEACH BOY - Back in business lately. Went close at Vivaux before coming fifth to (5) BICHE DE RIVIERE at Toulouse and can get a look in

20 Summary (14) APOLLON DE SUCE has put in a string of good performances since the autumn and although having lost his action at the start last time can be backed with confidence here. (12) ANTILOPE D'EPUISAY rarely lets the side down under harness at this level and after two return runs will be no pushover. (8) BOUM DU SOIR is ideally placed on the first line and could well find himself in the first three at the finish. (9) APACHE FOSCA and (16) BEACH BOY have shown encouraging signs lately and can both play an active role. 21 Race 4 1. ENCASA DELI - Well-related untried filly that has not been seen since qualifying 18 months ago. Is associated with a top driver for her debut and could get straight down to business 2. EMMA DES LOYAUX - Sanctioned in four of five to date. Just her second harness start and no threat 3. ELISE VIRGULE - Looked very ordinary last year and has picked up where she left off 4. ENVIE DE BOUERE - A very ordinary trotter in the whole and has no realistic chance 5. ESQUIMAU - Very modest individual that has never shown any particular aptitude for the game and can be written off 6. EMMA DE CORDAY - Left a good impression on debut at Saint-Brieuc nine days ago and although in better company here still looks a player 7. ELEGANZA FAC - Regularly displays a lack of discipline but encouraged behind (9) ELEGANT HORSE at Chateaubriant and will have his supporters 8. ESPOIR DU TILLET - Moderate sort that has had little to show for himself and can be passed over 9. ELEGANT HORSE - Came good on his promise when runner-up at Chateaubriant first start back and should not be far off the mark here 10. ELIXIR QUICK - Pleased in two of three last season. Lost his action on comeback at Argentan but must still be respected 11. EGADARA - Pleased on return at Toulouse before a modest effort at Agen two weeks ago and must find more 12. EMBELLIE FINALE - Has just once made the frame from eleven starts and is unlikely to shake things up 13. ELLE DE HOUELLE - Won with authority at Nantes on her comeback midmonth and could well double her money Summary (1) ENCASA DELI has failed to make the track since qualifying 18 months ago but she is a well-bred sort with a top driver at the helm and looks a serious prospect. (13) ELLE DE HOUELLE got straight back down to business when winning in style on comeback at Nantes mid-month and is the most obvious danger. (6) EMMA DE CORDAY was an impressive third on debut recently - she will have come on for the run and should give another competitive account. (9) ELEGANT HORSE looked a much improved horse at Chateaubriant ten days

ET POURTANT - Would have finished a good second at Nantes on debut had he no lost his action but gets Barrier in the sulky this time and with application can open his account 3. ET VOILA QUICK - Regularly shows a lack of discipline but an encouraging third at Vincennes nine days ago and should not be ignored 13. DESTIN DE BANVILLE - Dependability not his strong suit but has hind shoes off this time and can make amends for his recent sanction 8. DISCOVA - Fine sort when applied but disappointing at the end of last year. Unraced for two months and unlikely to influence the result 9. DIRTY LOVING - Useful on a good day but has found the going tough in Paris this winter and with shoes on is not an obvious choice 10. DAKARA DES VOLCANS - Useful mare but lost her way late last season. He has twice finished runner-up over course and distance and with application can go one better this time.
