Hi Point Awards to each Division. Open Non Pro Youth DIRECTIONS TO BVS EQUESTRIAN CENTER From the Highway 14 take Highway 58 towards Tehachapi. Take the 202 exit (which turns into Tucker Rd.) Continue to Valley Blvd (Highway 202). Turn right on Valley Blvd/Hwy202. (There will be all right hand turns until you turn into the Equestrian Center). Continue on 202 until you come to a four-way stop this is Cummings Valley Rd. DO NOT turn left on the 1 st Cummings Valley RD. Continue to the stop sign which is Bear Valley Rd. Turn right. Continue to the gate. Be sure and enter in the left hand drive lane to the gate, stop and get your road pass. Once you re in Bear Valley the Equestrian Center is approximately 2 miles further. It will be a left hand turn shortly after the reduce speed to 35 MPH. You will also cross a horse crossing just before the entrance to the Center. From the Freeway 99 take Highway 58 towards Tehachapi-Follow all the same directions above once you re on Highway 58. 3 GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS PRE ENTRIES CLOSE July 25, 2017 AFTER CLOSING DATE AND THROUGHOUT THE SHOW, POST ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED WITH A PENALTY OF $5.00 PER CLASS. ENTRY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNLESS RELEASE IS SIGNED AND ENTRIES ARE PAID IN FULL. 1. AMA Rules apply 2. Judge s decisions are final. 3. Be ready and at the in-gate before your class. Once gate is closed no admittance, no refund. 4. Management reserves the right to combine/cancel classes with 3 or less riders. 5. Addition of a class will be allowed with a post entry fee. 6. Showing age as of January 1 will determine your age group. 7. NO REFUNDS without a Veterinarian s certificate. 8. NO DOGS ALLOWED ON SHOW GROUNDS unless on a leash and controlled by a person. This will be strictly enforced! You will be asked to leave without refunds if this rule is not followed. 9. Spectators are to keep hands and objects out of the arenas. No sitting or leaning on the arena fences is allowed. Courtesy to exhibitors is always expected. 10. All ties will be broken by number of 1 st places, then number of 2 nd places and so forth, if required. 11. All AMA registration numbers MUST BE on your entry form if you are going for year-end and AMA points. 12. All non-resident exhibitors will be charged a $10.00 per horse per day fee. If you are camping, this will be included in your camp fees and will not be charged at the entry sign-in. Day haul-in will be charged at sign-in with entries. 13. Appropriate WESTERN attire and tack required. No short-sleeved shirts. Chaps, silver, riata and hobbles are optional. ASTM-SEI approved hard hat with chin straps for Youth Classes required. 14. Appropriate ENGLISH attire and tack required. ASTM-SEI approved hard hats with chin straps in place are mandatory for jumping classes, and all Youth Classes. We will do our best to make our show run smoothly. Please be at the designated area before your classes begin. Once checked in please do not leave the designated holding area. SHOW SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES To help make this show a success, we need the help of sponsors. We are offering different levels of sponsorships. With your sponsorship, you may display a banner in our arena. Please bring your banner to the Entry Booth before the show begins. If you are considering a sponsorship in our show please make a separate check for this payable to BVSHA. Please indicate sponsorship on your check. Tehachapi, CA Campground Rules: Detach and send above in with your deposit or full payment As everyone knows we are still in a drought situation here in California. Please conserve water. No bathing of animals, bucket and sponge only please. We are all in this together so please help in any way possible to conserve water. FEES: All overnight stays require a reservation and are subject to the fees below. All Camps are reserved on a first come basis with deposit. Arrivals prior to 12:00 pm on Thursday 4th th of August 2016 will be subject to additional fees. All Participants must depart facility by Monday August 8th 2016 unless prior arrangements have been approved in advance by management. All dogs must be on a leash or contained at all times. Owners of loose dogs will be asked to leave the grounds; if we ask you to leave you will not be issued a refund. No fires allowed. Propane and briquettes BBQ s are allowed. No tying of animals or high lines is allowed to the trees. When mounted walk only within the Equestrian Center Amenity. Bear Valley Springs (BVSA) trail system is privately owned. Event Participants are required to stay at the Equestrian Center during the event. Trail riding is strictly prohibited unless prior approval has been granted by the BVSA management. Campsites-$45.00 for the duration of the show. Pens-$45.00 per pen for the duration of the show.

10 RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS, EXPRESS ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT FOR PARTICIPANTS IN SPECIAL EQUESTRIAN EVENTS AT THE BEAR VALLEY SPRINGS EQUESTRIAN CENTER Please read and be certain you understand the implications of signing. Express Assumption of Risk Associated with Horse Riding. I, whose name and signature appear below, do hereby affirm and acknowledge that I have been fully informed of the inherent hazards and risks associated with equestrian sports, including showing, competitions, exhibitions and play days. Inherent hazards and risks include but are not limited to: 1. Risk of injury from the activity and equipment utilized in horse riding and driving is significant including the potential for permanent disability and death. 2. Possible equipment failure and/ or the malfunction of my own or other s equipment. 3. My own negligence and/ or the negligence of all others, including employees, agents, independent contractors or representatives of the Bear Valley Springs Association, including but not limited to operator error. 4. The propensity of an equine (horse) to behave in dangerous ways that may result in injury to the participant regardless of the equine s previous training and past performance. 5. The inability to predict an equine s (horse s) reaction to sound, movements, unfamiliar environment, objects, persons, or animals. 6. Natural hazards including but not limited to surface or subsurface conditions. 7. Propensity for an equine (horse) to run, buck, bite, kick, shy, stumble, rear, trample, scratch, peck, fall, make unpredictable movements, spook, down, jump, butt, step on a person s feet, push or shove without warning or apparent cause. 8. Saddles, bridles, and other tack may loosen or break which may cause the participant to be jolted or fall. 9. The domesticated animal may also react in a dangerous manner when condition or treatment is considered hazardous to the welfare of the animal. 10. The potential for a participant to fail to exercise reasonable care, take adequate control when engaging in a domesticated animal activity, including failing to maintain reasonable control of the animal or failing to act in a manner consistent with the person s abilities. 11. Collisions with trees, brush, and other animals or objects. 12. Broken bones, severe head injuries to the head, neck and back which may result in severe impairment or even death. 13. Cold weather and heat related injuries and illness including but not limited to frostnip, frost bite, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, sunburn, hypothermia and dehydration. 14. Exposure to outdoor elements, including but not limited to avalanche, rock fall, inclement weather, thunder and lightning, severe and/ or varied wind, temperature, and all other weather conditions. 15. Attack by or encounter with insects, reptiles, and/ or other animals. 16. Fatigue, chill, and/ or dizziness, which may diminish my/ our reaction time and increase the risk of accident. 17. Loss of my sense of balance, physical coordination, and ability to follow instructions. (I understand the description of these risks is not complete and that unknown or unanticipated risks may result in injury, illness, or death.) IN CONSIDERATION FOR BEING PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY WAY IN HORSE SHOWING OR RELATED ACTIVITIES, I HEREBY AGREE, ACKNOWLEDGE AND APPRECIATE THAT: 1. I hereby release and hold harmless with respect to any and all injury, disability, death, or loss or damage to person or property, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, the following persons; the Bear Valley Springs Association and Bear Valley Springs Community Services District; and managing or sponsoring event groups, including their officers, members and volunteers. 2. To release the releasees, their officers, directors, employees, representatives, agents, and volunteers from liability and responsibility whatsoever and for any claims or causes of action that I, my estate, heirs, survivors, executors, or assigns may have for personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death arising from the above activities whether caused by active or passive negligence of the releasees or otherwise. By executing this document, I agree to hold the releasees harmless and indemnify them in conjunction with any injury, disability, death, or loss or damage to person or property that may occur as a result of engaging in the above activities. 3. By entering into this Agreement, I am not relying on any oral or written representation or statements made by the releasees, other than what is set forth in this Agreement. This release shall be binding to the fullest extent permitted by law. If any provision of this release is found to be unenforceable, the remaining terms shall be enforceable. Such waiver does not remove the requirement below: As a participant in a special equestrian event held at the Bear Valley Springs Equestrian Center, I affirm and acknowledge that riding a horse without wearing protective, ASTM/SEI approved head gear could, in the event of an accident, result in head injuries more severe than if such head gear is worn, and, by signing the space below, expressly assume the risks associated with riding a horse without wearing protective head gear.
