Stallions/Geldings DEFINITIONS / ELIGIBILITY TERM DESCRIPTION Open A class in which professionals, adult amateurs, and junior/young riders may ride. PRO Professional. A class in which only professionals may ride. For USEF definition of professional, see GR1306 and GR1307 at CompetitionParticipants.pdf. AA Adult Amateur. For USEF definition of adult amateur, see GR1306 and GR1307 at JYR Junior and Young Riders. For the USEF definition of junior and young riders, see DR119.3 at AJY Adult Amateur and Junior/Young Riders. A class in which only adult amateurs and junior/young riders may enter. Will be split by AA and JYR if entries warrant. NR Not Recognized. These classes are not recognized by USEF. CBLM Qualifying class for 2017 CBLM Championships. Qualifying tests are Training 2, First 2, Second 2, Third 2, Fourth 2, Prix St. Georges, Intermediate I, Intermediate II, Grand Prix, all MFS except training. To be eligible, riders must be members of a participating organization at the time of the show to. See for details. GAIG Qualifying class for the 2018 GAIG/USDF Championships. Qualifying tests are Training 3, First 3, Second 3, Third 3, Fourth 3, Prix St. Georges, Intermediate I, Intermediate II, and Grand Prix. For test qualification and other requirements see Rider and owner must be USDF participating members and USEF members; horse must be USDF Lifetime Registered and USEF Recorded. Owners may be USDF Business Members. Entry fee plus $15 required before the start of the class. TOC Test of Choice. Rider may ride any test in the category. Specify test on entry form. May be CBLM or GAIG qualifier if proper test is ridden and fees paid before the start of the class. FEI TOC For this show, limited to FEI Prix. St. Georges, FEI Intermediaire I, FEI Intermediaire A, FEI Intermediaire B, FEI Intermediaire II, and FEI Grand Prix. MFS Musical Freestyle. USEF Chapter 8, GR821.2e(5) and GR821.5: Horses, riders, owners, trainers, and coaches participating only in Opportunity classes are exempt from Federation and affiliate organization membership and Horse Identification (HID) requirements and non-member/show Pass fees, but are required to list the Federation membership number if the participant is a member. USEF Chapter 4, GR407.1 and Chapter 8, GR821.3 & GR821.4: Horses entered only in "opportunity" classes are exempt from the Federation fee, including the Drugs & Medications fee. However, horses entered in these classes are still subject to and must comply with all D&M rules and are subject to testing at your competition. For this show, horses and/or riders entered in opportunity class(es) may not be entered in any other class(es) in the show except Introductory levels. GENERAL INFORMATION Every class offered herein that is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF Rule Book ( will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. USEF rules are in force from the moment the show management allows access to the show grounds. This includes conduct, correct saddlery and equipment, and attire (Riders in classes and tests at all levels in Level 1 Competitions, and riders in Opportunity classes in Level 2 and Level 3 Competitions, may compete wearing breeches and shirts of any color as permitted in DR Jackets or vests of any type are allowed but not required and neckwear may be worn only if the rider chooses to compete in a riding jacket. Boots and protective headgear are required as specified in DR ) Management reserves the right to split, combine, delete, or add classes dependent on entries. Management also reserves the right to add or substitute judges or make any changes required by circumstances. All no shows that have not contacted the show office will be considered a scratch for the remainder of the show and time slots may be filled. Riders and owners enter with this understanding and agreement. Dogs must be on leashes or crated at all times while on the show grounds. Current editions of all tests and score sheets, as posted on the USDF, USEF, and FEI web sites, will be used. HEADGEAR RULE USEF DR From the time horses are officially admitted to the competition grounds by competition management, anyone mounted on a horse at any time on the competition grounds, including non-competing riders, riders on non- 3

4 competing horses, mounted participants in exhibition classes and those competing in all classes and tests, including Para-Equestrian tests, must wear protective headgear as defined by this rule and otherwise in compliance with GR801. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place. Protective headgear is defined as a riding helmet which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. The harness must be secured and properly fitted. Unless jackets are waived, while in the competition ring, exhibitors wearing protective headgear must wear a short, dark jacket, dark tailcoat (only permitted for tests above Fourth Level), or Armed Services or police uniform (if eligible), dark hat covers (where applicable) and must otherwise conform to DR120 (see GR801). AWARDS Ribbons for first through sixth place. Prize for each first place. Separate ribbons for Professional, Adult Amateur, Junior/Young and MFS show high score rider. High Score ribbons for each level. Class #123 is a USDF/Dover Adult Amateur Medal class. ENTRY PROCEDURES ENTRY SUBMISSION: o Entries must be submitted using Equestrian Entries (EqE) at With this online system, riders and owners agree that they have read the OFFICIAL PRIZE LIST and agree to follow all the class specifications, requirements and conditions therein. o Through EqE, the rider submits: (1) Entry form (2) Full payment (3) USEF Release, Assumption of Risk, Waiver and Indemnification Form with signatures (rider, owner, trainer and parent/guardian if applicable) (4) Coggins (5) Proof of rider and owner USEF and USDF Memberships (or pay non-member fees, Opportunity and Intro are exempt) (6) Proof of horse USDF Registration and USEF Recordation (Opportunity and Intro are exempt) (7) Any required documentation (proof of a qualifying score for MFS classes, etc.) o Entries without both the (1) complete entry form and (2) full payment will not be entered in the show until received. o Items (5) and (6) may also be submitted via the printed report from o If complete documents (3), (4), (5), (6) and (7) are not submitted via EqE, they may NOT be submitted via FAX. They may be submitted via snail mail (do not use a signature required service) sent to the Show Secretary or as an attachment sent to sgp588@hotmail.com (the SUBJECT line must be VERY clear that the is related to the show or it may not be opened). o From the $35 office fee, $5 will be refunded at the show for entries that are complete when first submitted and are not changed before or during the show. FULL SHOW: Entries may be limited if numbers exceed capacity of the facility. The show may fill prior to the closing date. Entries received after the show is full will be placed on a waiting list. LATE ENTRIES: Late entries (received by the show secretary after midnight of the closing date) will be accepted on a space available basis. Must include the $50 late fee. SHOW AND ENTRY CHANGES: Show management reserves the right to refuse entries, make changes, deletions, or corrections as deemed necessary. COGGINS: Negative Coggins valid through the show date is required to enter the show grounds for all horses. CORRESPONDENCE: o All entries correspondence will be via snail mail or . No telephone or FAX correspondence. o Do not send any entry documentation via registered, certified mail, or signature required. CHECKS: If additional fees must be collected, make checks payable to Loch Moy Farm. 4

5 REFUNDS. Entry scratches received BEFORE midnight of the closing date will be refunded less the full office fee. There will be no refunds, for any reason, after the closing date, including overpayments and show cancellation due to Acts of God, acts of terrorism, inclement weather, and/or other emergencies. ENTRY STATUS AND TIMES Acknowledgement of entry receipt and its status will be ed to each rider. Please ensure you include a valid address with your entry. When the acknowledgement is received, the rider is responsible for finding errors and notifying the Show Secretary immediately. Ride times will be posted at least four days before the show on the Loch Moy Farm web site. MUSICAL FREESTYLE REQUIREMENTS Riders must submit with their entry a copy of the highest test of the level entered or higher level with a minimum score of 60%, in accordance with USEF rules. Riders must present music on good quality CDs to the Show Secretary at least two hours prior to the beginning of the musical freestyle classes. Times for sound checks will be announced at the show. Please check with the show office. PONIES If ponies are entered and are in need of a measurement card, an appointment for measuring must be made with show management at least two weeks prior to the show. The owner will be responsible for any costs associated with performing the measurement. NON-COMPETING HORSES Owners of non-competing horses must contact the Show Secretary at least two weeks before the show. A noncompete horse form will be ed to the owner. Owners will be asked to mail the non-compete form, a copy of the negative Coggins, and pay $40 ($30 grounds fee, and $10 office fee). Non-competing horses do not pay the USEF D&M horse fee. STABLING AND WATER 54 permanent 10X12 stalls with stall doors on site and in addition there will be 50 temporary 10x10 stalls with stall doors in the adjoining indoor enclosure, if warranted. $75.00 per night includes one bale of straw OR shavings. Weekend stall (Fri and Sat night) $140 includes one bale of straw OR shavings. Include SEPARATE $50 check muck deposit. If Stabling and Muck fees are combined into one check, the Muck fee will not be refunded. Competitors wishing to stay for the week, call Bedding/Hay available for purchase ONLY if preordered on stabling form. Limited # of electric hook-ups around stabling, $40/night. Bedding $8 each. WARM-UP AND COMPETITION ARENAS Warm-up Arena: One 220 x 550 outdoor arena with all weather footing. Lunging Area: One 200 x 220 outdoor arena with all weather footing. Competition Arenas: Three or four 20m x 60m outdoor arenas with all weather footing. HOSPITALITY Food and beverage will be available for purchase during the show hours. Continue on Rt. 270 N, approximately 26 miles, to Exit 26 for Route 80 West, Buckeystown/Urbana. Turn right off the exit ramp, circling under Rt. 270 and continue on Rt. 80 W, approximately 1.5 miles to Park Mills Road on the left. Turn left onto Park Mills Rd. and continue straight for approximately 5.8 miles to the entrance on the right. From Baltimore, MD Approximate Distance: 45 miles From Route 695, take Route 70 West toward Frederick. Continue on Rt. 70 West to Exit 54, Frederick, Route 85 South. Turn right off the exit ramp onto Rt. 85 South. Continue straight on Rt. 85 South for approximately 7-8 miles to Lily Pons Road on the left. Turn left onto Lily Pons Rd. and continue to the stop sign. Turn right onto Park Mills Rd. and continue straight for approximately 1.8 miles to the entrance on the right. Continue straight off the exit ramp on Rt. 85 South for approximately 5-6 miles to Lily Pons Road on the left. Turn left onto Lily Pons Rd. and continue to the stop sign. Turn right onto Park Mills Rd. and continue straight for approximately 1.8 miles to the entrance on the right. From Charles Town, WV Approximate distance: 30 miles Take Route 340 West towards Frederick, Maryland. Follow signs to Route 270 South for Washington, D.C. Continue on Rt. 270 South to Exit 31B for Buckeystown, Route 85 South. Continue straight on Rt. 85 South for approximately 5-6 miles to Lily Pons Road on the left. Turn left onto Lily Pons Rd. and continue to the stop sign. Turn right onto Park Mills Rd. and continue straight for approximately 1.8 miles to the entrance on the right. From Leesburg, VA Approximate distance: 19 miles Take Route 15 North towards Maryland and the Potomac Bridge. Cross the Potomac Bridge into Maryland and turn right at Clay Street/MD Route 28. Continue on Rt. 28 East for 4.7. Turn right to stay on MD Route 28 towards Rockville. Go 1.5 miles. Turn left at Park Mills Rd. Go 1.2 miles. The Event site and Schooling course are on your left. From Richmond, VA Approximate distance: 130 miles Take I-95 North towards Washington, DC. To 495. From Route 495, take Route 270 North, towards Frederick. Continue on Rt. 270 N, approximately 26 miles, to Exit 26 for Route 80 West, Buckeystown/ Urbana. Turn right off the exit ramp, circling under the highway and continue on Rt. 80 W, approximately 1.5 miles to Park Mills Road on the left Turn left onto Park Mills Rd. and continue straight for approximately 5 miles to the entrance on the right. From Philadelphia, PA Approximate distance: 150 miles Take I-95 South towards Baltimore. At Baltimore, take 695 West for Towson/Frederick/Route 70 West. Take Route 70 W towards Frederick. Proceed to Exit 54, Route 85 South towards Buckeystown. Turn right off the exit ramp onto Route 85 S and proceed approximately 7-8 miles, through Buckeystown, to Lily Pons Road on the left. Turn left onto Lily Pons Rd. and continue to the stop sign. Turn right onto Park Mills Rd. and continue straight for approximately 1.8 miles to the entrance on the right. From Pittsburgh, PA Approximate distance: 200 miles Take I-376 East to I-76 E towards Rt. 70 and Baltimore. Take Rt. 70 E for Baltimore/Washington, D.C. Continue on Rt. 70 E to Rt. 85 in Frederick, Maryland. Take Exit 54, Rt. 85 South towards Buckeystown. Turn right off the exit ramp onto Rt. 85 S and proceed approximately 7-8 miles, through Buckeystown, to Lily Pons Road on the left. Turn left onto Lily Pons Road and continue to the stop sign. Turn right onto Park Mills Rd. and continue straight for approximately 1.8 miles to the entrance on the right. 6

7 RIDER SHOW ATTIRE DR120.5: Riders in classes and tests at all levels in Level 1 Competitions, and riders in Opportunity classes in Level 2 and Level 3 Competitions may compete wearing breeches and shirts of any color as permitted in DR Jackets or vests of any type are allowed but not required and neckwear may be worn only if the rider chooses to compete in a riding jacket. Boots and protective headgear are required as specified in DR DR120.8: In locations with high average heat and humidity on the date of a competition, management can publish in their prize list that jackets will be waived for the duration of the competition. Alternatively, management can announce prior to or during a competition that competitors can show without jackets when extreme heat and/or humidity is forecast. This waiver applies to all classes including FEI classes at National Competitions. However, competitors must wear protective headgear and a shirt with sleeves and collar, without neckwear, and without decoration except as described under.15 below. T-shirts are not permitted. Members of the Armed Services or police units may wear summer uniforms. ACCORDINGLY, JACKETS MAY BE WAIVED FOR THE ENTIRE COMPETITION. FLY HOODS DR121.7: Fly hoods (ear covers) made of a thin (single, unpadded) layer of material, are permitted for competitions held in open-sided covered rings or outdoor rings in order to protect horses from insects. The fly hoods should be discreet and should not cover the horse s eyes. After completion of the test, the rider or his representative is responsible for removing the fly hood to present to the designated ring steward for inspection to ensure that nothing prohibited has been added to (for example, special material) or is covered by the fly hoods to protect from sound. PARKING Parking is at the top of the hill at the end of the driveway to the left or right. Parking staff will direct trailers as they enter the show grounds. USEF REQUIREMENTS GR Motor Vehicle Statement: Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/ or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. USEF Membership Statement: Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performance FR218) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of 7

8 current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.usef Show Rules and Regulations: o EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT USEF RULE BOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH. o All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the show management whose decision shall be final. o Every horse entered for competition will comply with the rules of the horse show management, but management will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold this horse show and the officials and employees of the show blameless for any loss or accident to his horse, employees, equipment, which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise. o The management reserves the right to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit entries and cancel award prizes without claims for damages; to cancel or combine unfilled classes, or to reschedule classes after due notice to exhibitors; to change rings or rotate judges. o Exhibitors are notified that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the judges or officials, on the part of the owner, manager, rider, or groom shall disqualify the horse, and the owner shall forfeit his entry fee and other fees. o Show management reserves to itself the power to prohibit any person from attending or showing a horse in the ring and to remove any groom or horse from the show without being liable for compensation. o In accordance with the 1989 Federal Waste Tracking Act, which restricts the disposal of medical waste, bio-hazardous medical waste containers will be provided in the stable area.
