Failure to notify may incur an extra $50.00 levy. Such a levy would be payable prior to further entries being accepted at future RNCAS events. PUBLIC ENTRY The General public will have access throughout the alpaca shed. However, signs will be erected that warn that alpacas do kick and that they are not to touch the animals unless under direct instruction from the handler. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES are animals to be left unattended either outside their pens or in the exercise areas. Any exhibiter found to be not complying will be issued with a $50 fine. ELECTRICAL All electrical leads/equipment must have current testing tags. If you have asked for electricity you will need to bring 1 or 2 PVC poles 6/7feet high to hold the cords off the ground to your pen, they can then be secured with electrical ties (you need to bring these as well). Any leads found on the ground will be removed. Due to the high demand on power outlets we have done the best possible please bring tagged long extension leads as well as your poles in an effort to get to the power. AGE OF EXHIBIT: All ages to be calculated for their class at age on Saturday 25 th of February PROGENY SIRES PROGENY: The class is for three progeny by one sire (Huacaya and Suri). The progeny need not be owned or bred by the one exhibitor. However they must be drawn from the ordinary classes i.e. all progeny must have been entered as animal exhibits in the same show as that in which they are to be exhibited as Sires Progeny. Only one progeny from any one dam may be shown in each Sire s Progeny Group. DAMS PROGENY: The class is for two progeny by one dam (Huacaya and Suri). INSPECTION OF EXHIBITS All animals will be inspected prior to judging and an animal not complying with the applicable Breed Standard of AAA may not be allowed to compete. All Huacaya alpacas must carry a minimum fleece length of 30mm and a maximum fleece length not exceeding 60mm, measured at the mid-side. Suri minimum length is 75mm & no more than two years growth. Exhibitors must be in attendance at the time of inspection. Any alpaca found to have lice infestation must be removed immediately along with any other alpacas Page 2
3 present that belong to the same exhibitor. A Veterinary Officer may examine animals during the course of the Show; such examinations will be done at the owners/exhibitors expense. A veterinarian is in attendance throughout the period of the Show and can be contacted through the RNCAS Office. ACCESS TO SHOWGROUND 1. Restriction of Entries & penning: If necessary, the number of alpacas from any one exhibitor may be reduced to a figure determined by the RNCAS. The exhibitor will have the right to nominate the alpaca to be withdrawn should this reduction be necessary. 2. Johne s Disease: At the show, strict JD control arrangements will apply. Special veterinary-approved conditions will apply so that both a JD assessed area and a JD unassessed area operate. A qualified veterinarian accredited for JD MAP (ALPACA)/QAlpaca will be in attendance for the whole of the Show to oversee the implementation of control measures. Exhibitors wanting further information can contact the RNCAS Alpaca Section Head, Jess Sachs on The RNCAS requires the full cooperation of exhibitors of animals susceptible to Johnne s disease in not exposing any exhibits to risk while at the Show. However, given the complexity of the monitoring system, the Society accepts no responsibility. 11. Alpacas must be placed in the pens allocated for them as directed by the Stewards and must not be moved or removed without the permission of the Chief Steward. The Chief Steward reserves the right to change the allocation of pens and, if necessary, to move animals without the owner being present. 12. During judging, handlers must wear white dustcoats &, which do not show the exhibitor's name or stud identification and solid Brown or Black shoes (NO shorts, hats, open shoes or Runners/Joggers will be permitted in the show ring). BLACK PANTS are required. 13. Access for Stock Vehicles and Trailers: Exhibitors will be issued with a pass and directions for the un-loading of animals etc, subsequent to un-loading vehicles must be removed from the grounds immediately and parked in the appropriate area. If you do not provide your car registration number on your entry form you will be unable to enter the show grounds. SCHOOLS COMPETITION PLEASE NOTE.
