1 The Roundup May/June/July 2011 Newsletter of the Iowa Paint Horse Club President's Message The summer is well under way and I hope each of you is enjoying your horse time - whether it be in the show arena or on the trail. The Memorial Day Classic was a huge success again this year. Thank you to our wonderful announcer, Jerry Nolting, our very professional ringmen, Tyler Strathe and Steve Jones, and our ever efficient show secretaries, Cindy Westphal and Leigh Roudabush. Special thanks to Carrie Gulling for the delicious exhibitors meal. And thank you to everyone who helped open gates, hand out grand and reserve prizes, set up trail, and all the other things that go into putting on a show. Another special thanks to Kim Kass for organizing the second annual dog racel We now look toward the two day show at Iowa Falls July 9 & 10. Remember to get your stall reservations to Earl Void as soon as possible. The State Show and Futurity is coming quickly. Please look for the stall reservation fonn, showbill and show infonnation in this issue of The Roundup. Judy Miller, who has been a NW Director for IPHC the past several years, has moved and is no longer in the NW District, so had to resign her position on the board. Huge thanks to Judy for the time she served IPHC as a Director! Happy Trails, Michelle Kelber, IPHC President Green Classes Green Western Pleasure and Green Hunter Under Saddle have been added to the IPHC class list for 2011! It is the Board's hope that these classes will be a nice addition to the shows and will not take entries away from the Jr. and Sr. Western Pleasure and Open Hunter Under Saddle classes. Please continue to support the Jr. and Sr. Western Pleasure and Open Hunter Under Saddle classes so that the Green classes can stay on the class list in the future. Amateur Walk Trot Classes Amateur Walk Trot Western Pleasure and Amateur Walk Trot Western Horsemanship have been added to the class list for If you plan on participating in these walk trot classes, you must have the appropriate card from APHA. It is the exhibitor's responsibility to read and understand the APHA rules for the Amateur Walk Trot classes.
