Directions: From the North: Take I-75 South to I-275 East to Exit 59a - Milford Parkway From the South: Take I-75 North to I-275 East to Exit 59a - Milford Parkway From the West: Take I-275 to Exit 59a - Milford Parkway Facility Directions/Rules 10 IDHSNA 2012 Annual Show and Inspections Premium At Exit 59a, follow Milford Parkway towards and past the Showcase Cinemas, Target. At the first light efore Target, continue on Milford Parkway. At your second light, you will be at US 50, cross US 50. This then becomes East State Route 131. Go approximately 6.2 miles (four lights) to the intersection of State Route 131 and State Route 132 (Williams Corner). At light, take a right and head South on State Route 132 approximately 8/10 of a mile. Majestic Farm is on your left. Facility Rules 1. All horses must have their show number on their bridle or halter any time outside the stall. 2. Non-competing horses must be registered with the show office and will be given a number to be worn at all times outside of stall. 3. Non competing $25 schooling fee and stall fee must be paid. Any person(s) riding a schooling horse must have an official entry form and/or release form signed. School horses are not permitted in the warm up area during the competition hours. Fee does not apply to mare/foal as long as one of the pair is a registered competitor. 4. Shavings - shavings will be available at Majestic, $7.00 per bag. Owners are allowed to bring their own shavings. 5. Judges - it is the purpose of the management to run the Horse Show at the highest possible level of sportsmanship. The management used the utmost care to select judges with broad experience and knowledge. The judge s decisions in the show ring are their own responsibility and the management accepts no responsibility for those decisions. 6. Arenas/Footing - Insulated indoor arena with Martins Collins Footing. 60m x 20m competition rings. Warm-up arena. Designated lunging area with sand all weather footing. 7. Stabling - 12 x 12 stalls in Barn B and Barn C, all with doors. No initial bedding provided. Please specify barn of choice on entry form. Competitors are responsible for all stall damage. ABSOLUTELY NO NAILS, SCREW EYES IN METAL OR WOOD. Every effort is made to honor stabling requests, but we cannot guarantee. When asking to be stabled with someone please designate one name for your group in the stable with section of the entry form. Tack stalls shared between two or more competitors will receive at 10% discount. 8. Dogs - dogs are not permitted to be loose on competition grounds and must be on a leash or otherwise contatined. Mounted Riders may not lead dogs. Dog owners failing to comply with this rule may be subject to penalty. 9. Parking - is allowed in designated areas only. Violaters improperly parked, including NO PARKING ZONES AND FIRE LANES, will be issued citations and/or towed from the premises at the vehicle owners expense. 10. Overnight/Camping - Limited RV Camping (8 available) in designated sites only. Assigned on first come, first served basis. Fee is $40 per night, includes water and 30amp electric, no septic lines. There are additional camping options nearby. NO overnight camping except in designated sites! 11. SMOKE FREE FACILITY - there is to be NO SMOKING or open fires within 100 feet of any structure on grounds. 12. Security Notice - concealed weapons are prohibited in this facility 13. 11 IDHSNA 2016 Annual Horse Show Rules/Definitions RULES AND DEFINITIONS The 2016 Annual Show Executive Committee reserves the right to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to, or arising out of, or incident to, the show, without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. Any question not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the 2016 Annual Show Executive Committee, with their decision to be final. This includes the right to cancel, combine, split and/or add classes or divisions depending on entries. All horses must have a current Coggins, with the exception of horses under the age of twelve months are to use their dams Coggins. Horses over the age of twelve months must have their own current Coggins. All out of state horses must have a valid Health Certificate dated within 30 days of the start of the show. All horses being ridden must be at least three years old, all horses being ridden over fences must be at least four years old. DRIVING CLASSES- The 2016 Show Committee is happy to announce the addition of Driving to our Performance classes this year! They will run Friday morning at 8:30. (Classes 20 & 21) To introduce our Driving Classes, we are very excited to have Katie Whaley as our Clinician and Judge. Katie is a Registered judge with the American Driving Society, as well as a well known national and international pairs and 4-in-hand competitor. She is also the owner/designer of Hats by Katie Katie will conduct an unmounted Driving Clinic on Thursday, September 22 at 5pm - the clinic is open to all. Our first class will be a Cones Class. This is a test of speed and accuracy. A course of 10 cone gates will be set in the arena. Each driver will compete the course twice. Run 1 will be scored on fastest time through the course with fewest penalties. Round 2 will be scored based on most gates completed in a preset time with fewest penalties. Penalty seconds are assessed for knocking off the ball/s that are placed on top of the gates or destroying a gate. Placing decided on lowest combine score. Our second class will be Driven Dressage, Training Level Test 2 (Presentation on the Move or POM). The object of the Driven Dressage Test is to judge the freedom, regularity of paces, harmony, impulsion, suppleness, lightness, ease of movement and correct bending of the horses on the move. Athletes will also be judged on style, accuracy, and general control of their horses, and also on their dress, condition of the harness and vehicle, and presentation of their whole turnout. Driving Rules: 1. Bridles should fit snugly to prevent catching on a vehicle or other pieces of harness. Under no circumstances should a bridle or reins be removed from a horse or pony while they are still hitched to a vehicle. Doing so anywhere on the show grounds will result in elimination. Tying a horse/pony to anything while they are hitched, or leaving a hitched horse unattended, is also forbidden and cause for elimination. 2. All classes will be competed at the walk/trot only. Cantering is prohibited in all driving classes and on the grounds. 3. Every person who rides/drives on a carraige at any time on the grounds, in or out of competition, must sign the liability disclaimer on the entry form. 4. Failure to cross the cones start line within one minute of judges signal may incur elimination. 5. Driving aprons, helmets, gloves, and driving whips are required while driving for all classes. 6. Grooms must be with the carraige and available to assist both inside and outside of the arena. 7. All competitors must report to a safety check and have wheel measurement prior to entering the warm-up arena. Breed In-Hand classes are to be held in typical IDHS fashion. Horses will be walked clock-wise around the ring. Each horse in the ring must have a handler at all times. Handlers are not to block the Judges view of the horse. Horses are to be turned to their right. Handlers can use an Irish Show Cane or dressage whip. The Ring Steward will assist the Judges in announcing to the handlers what they are to do. COP - Certificate of Pedigree In 2016, the Certificate of Pedigree was launched to certify horses of Irish Draught lineage that can t be registered due to unapproved sires and dams. For the COP, a horse must be able to be DNA tested to a registered ID or IDSH to qualify. COP horses are being invited to compete at the Annual show in the Performance Classes alongside the registered ID and IDSHs and will be awarded their own placings and Ribbons, there will be a COP show champion! Classes 1-17, 20-25, 77, 82, 85, 88, 89, 73-87, and are the Performance classes. Please mark COP on entry. COP horses are eligible for IDHSNA Year End Awards! Horses must have received their certification from the Office of the IDHSNA by the time of the show. Please go to the society website; look under Support in the top ribbon, go to forms and find the Certificate of Pedigree Description. Then go to the Registration Forms, check Certificate of Pedigree in the box and follow the instructions on the Forms. The steps are the same as registering an IDSH and if the sire and/or dam of the COP horse are inspected and approved at some point, the COP horse will be able to be registered as an ID or IDSH. We are hoping to provide a *home* for IDs and IDSHs that aren t able to be registered but are active and valuable equines. CONNEMARA PONIES Registered Connemara Ponies and ACPS Members are also invited to compete in the same Performance Classes! The Connemaras will receive their own placings and ribbons! Please find the space on the entry form for CP/CPSH Dressage Prospect classes are held in accordance with USDF Rules, which can be found on the USDF website. In these classes horses are shown one at a time and on the triangle. Please note that these classes are for horses between the ages of zero- and three-years old. Foals must be shown in a halter and may be accompanied by their dam (both animals require a handler at all times), yearlings may be shown in either a halter or a bridle; two- and threeyear olds must be shown in a bridle, with either reins or a New Market shank. Handlers may request to use an assistant with a whip if they feel it is needed. Hunter classes are judged in accordance with USEF rules. In case of a tie, the horses with the most points over fences, will be awarded the higher placing. Hunter Pairs classes to be judged on similarity of horses/riders and quality of performance as a hunter pair. Jumper classes are judged in accordance with USEF rules. The Jumper classes, unless otherwise noted, will be run in accordance with USEF rules in Table II, Sec. 2(b), which means that the jump off occurs immediately following the course without leaving the ring. For the purposes of this show, an AMATEUR is one, who does not train horses under saddle or in harness for profit, or does not teach riding lessons or accept remuneration for showing horses in-hand, under saddle or in harness. One who trains horses in-hand only as part of a breeding operation is not disqualified as an amateur. In cases of dispute of amateur status, the 2016 Annual Show Executive Committee will make the final decision. ATTIRE: Below are the recommendations for appropriate attire in each discipline.
