2 T he philosophy of AHO, the Arabian Horse Organization, has always been to look ahead and around, helping, pushing and giving enthusiasm to the purebred Arabian horse breeders, in line with the mission of the Organisation. From Boutheib we moved to Kuwait where, on the 10th and the 11th March, the first Breeders Cup was held, awarding prize money to breeders/owners. Kuwait has already a long history of national and international shows, in addition to the straight egyptian events. All the arabian horse events are usually held at the Bait Al Arab Arena, few kilometers from the old town centre of the capital, Kuwait City. The city is gorgeous, to say the least, with modern buildings and skyscrapers, giant malls and lavish seaside hotels. The reaction of the breeders coming from big and small breeding farms was enthusiast: as the confirmation of that, 209 horses were entered to the first AHO show edition, organized and supported by Mr. Khaled Al-Noughmshi, the well known breeder who is also the owner of Asayel Stud, and a higher organizing committee consisted of 6 members from Kuwait Arabian Horse Society (Mr. Yousef Al-Nughaimshi, Mr. Mohammad Al-Marshad, Mr. Jassim Al-Mesbah, Mr. Bashar Al-Awadhi, Dr. Ayman Al-Qattan, Mr. Abdullah Al-Khaledi), 1 representative from AHO (Dr. Mohammed Machmoum), and 1 member from Kuwait breeders (Mr. Mohammed Al-Khamiss). The presence of Dr. Mohammed Machmoum, member with, amongst others, Mr. Essam Abdullah and Mr. Ahamed AbdulRazek, of AHO, which was created by HRH Abdulaziz Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Saud, was essential. All the event details, like the scoring on the great screen, the big arena, the VIP tables and the fantastic catering were perfectly organized and managed. Many people, who we thanks, cooperated to the great success of the AHO show first edition: Dr. Mohamad Mabrouk Hammad and Dr. Ali Abbassy of the Disciplinary Committee and Mr. Waleed Alhaddadi, the Ringmaster and Mr. Sami Ghazwan, the bilingual speaker of the show. The 209 horses were judged by Mrs. Renata Schibler (CH), Dr. Manfred Neubacher (AU), Mr. Xavier Guibert (FR), Mr. Tomasz Tarczynski (PO) and Dr. Maagoul Abdelouhaed (MOR). The show was in streaming and live on two of the national TVs. During the two day show we experienced all the climatic conditions possible: we started with a spring sun, then a summer hot the next morning, followed by a winter hail, so rare in this area, turning into a heavy rain that lasted for a hour. Nothing was able to intimidate the breeders, the handlers, the judges and even HRH Abdulaziz Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Saud, who continued awarding the trophies to the winners. TuttoArabi was present, as always, as the AHO official media partner and to witness the growth of the shows organised by AHO with the aim to support all the Arabian horse breeders through a concrete and moral assistance. The next AHO show will be held in Lebanon and soon the Tunisia show date will be available. My advice to friends, clients and Arabian horse passionates is to participate in competition certainly to compete and also to compare themselves to others from all around the world.
