1 Bluffton Free Street Fair and Wells County Agricultural Exhibit ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All American Fair ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ September 15-20, 2018 HORSE & PONY DIVISION Bluffton Street Fair Horse and Pony Association Event Location: Wells County 4-H Park ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fair Office Phone: ALL 2018 ENROLLED 4-H MEMBERS MUST WEAR PROTECTIVE HELMETS WHEN MOUNTED ON HORSEBACK. Deadlines: All stalls must be reserved by Friday, Sept. 7, All animals must be pre-registered for their classes by Fri. Sept. 7, 2018 A WAIVER FORM MUST BE SIGNED FOR EACH EXHIBITOR BEFORE SHOWING. Stalls assigned on 1 st come basis. A $5.00 fee will be charged for each stall reserved and not used. You may request certain stalls and the committee will try to honor all requests. Must provide own bedding. No straw allowed. Stalls must be cleaned before departure. EXHIBITORS WILL BE INELIGIBLE FOR NEXT YEAR S FAIR IF STALLS ARE NOT CLEANED BY 12:00 NOON ON Saturday, Sept. 22, All animals must be in stalls no later than 9:00 pm Friday evening. All animals must stay throughout the fair to be eligible for exhibition in ANY BFSF HORSE SHOW. If an emergency arises where the exhibitor needs to leave, PLEASE notify one of the committee members. Street fair horse shows are closed to any horse not stabled in the barns during the week of fair. No person shall cause to be administered internally or externally to a horse any medication, drug, mechanical device or artificial appliance which is of such character as could affect its performance or appearance while stabled on the grounds during the week of the Horse & Pony events. Upon discovery of administration of such drug, medication, mechanical device or artificial appliance, the horse will be disqualified from all classes. Emergency contact information cards will be provided for each horse; PLEASE complete the cards, place back into plastic bag, and securely fasten the bag somewhere on the stall front. Each animal may only show in one class division. (ex: Quarter Type or Palomino Type) If horse is shown in halter and under saddle, they must be entered in same class division. Ribbons will be awarded for places 1-5 on Saturday & Sunday s classes. Decorating: No painting or altering on any permanent structures. Any staples must be removed before departure. Only UL approved extension cords may be used. May only plug into approved outlets. Decorative lights must be outdoor-approved. Multiple plugs must go on a surge strip. ALL AISLEWAYS MUST BE LEFT OPEN AND CLEAR OF ANY OBSTRUCTIONS. No smoking inside any building at any time. (This includes all barns.) No riding in restricted areas of the park. Check map for these areas. All 4-H Park rules will be followed. Please - NO RUNNING, SCREAMING, OR HORSEPLAY inside the barns or around the horses. Do NOT ride out of the park; please stay within the boundaries. DO NOT bathe horses at the hitching rails. Only use wash racks. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON GROUNDS. The Half a Horse Award - Presented by the previous year's recipient to the person deemed hardest to get along with (all in good fun!). This award is of course a most prestigious award! Sissy-La-La Award Presented to the biggest whiner during the week of the fair. Sportsmanship & Stall Decorations Awards - Presented to the exhibitor(s) that decorates and keeps his/her stalls clean, and shows great sportsmanship throughout the week. Showmanship Awards - Two individuals chosen by the Judge that has portrayed exceptional showmanship/ horsemanship skills during the Halter/Pleasure show. Best of Show Award Presented to the overall winner of the Halter classes from Saturday s competition. Supreme Showmanship Award Presented to the overall winner of the Showmanship Classes from Saturday s competition.
