1 Editor: Detta Andreana Associate Editor: Sandy Clark - In This Issue ABOUT OUR CLUB SYNOPSIS ON PURPOSE AND GOALS The Sleepy Hollow German Shorthaired Pointer Club is a not for profit Breed Specific Dog Club. We were founded in 1988 by a small unit of very dedicated GSP people. Throughout the years, we have grown to expand our horizons as we continue to promote the health and welfare of the Versatile GSP. The Sleepy Hollow GSPC, is an American Kennel Club Sanctioned Specialty Breed Club. SHGSPC is also a member club of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America. We promote the responsible breeding of the purebred GSP. We urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed approved by the American Kennel Club, as the only standard of excellence. The SHGSP Club conducts Sanctioned Specialty Breed Shows, Obedience Trials, and Field Events held under the Rules and Regulations of the American Kennel Club. Our Club is about Good Sportsmanship - Our members, their enjoyment of the sport and willingness of their dogs. Education - Learning through the exchange of knowledge within the membership. 2 PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE DENISE AVERY It s that time of the year, leaves have turned, days are getting shorter and cooler, winter and the end of the year is just around the corner. We, as the Sleepy Hollow GSP Club, are coming off a very busy time, our Annual Meeting and a fabulous Specialty Show was held in June, in August we gathered for a productive meeting, potluck luncheon and of course the most enjoyable part of the day, some very educational demonstrations in the field with pups. Finally, our first double header hunt test was held in September. All very successful events thanks to the hard work and participation of so many members. Our one final event for the year is upon us, a time for us to gather, enjoy a meal with each other and celebrate at the Harvest Awards Dinner! I am quite certain that this years dinner will be exciting and there is still time to reserve your spot if you have not signed up yet. We have a nice list of awards to present, and a Chukar hunt at East Mountain (courtesy of Michael Holomakoff) to draw for. Delancey s, the restaurant for our dinner, has been described to me as the nicest venue we have visited. All members are encouraged to attend, family and friends are welcome! If you have not yet committed, but would like to attend, please call Charley Mallory right away. AUGUST EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATION Club member, Kimberly Petts, took some beautiful photos at the annual Pot Luck Dinner/Meeting and educational field training presentation by Michael Holomakoff and has provided a link for viewing, SHGSPC HUNT TEST RESULTS - SEPTEMBER 12, 2015 MORNING HUNT TEST Master Hunter Judges: David Molyneaux/Lynda Ruffini FC AFC Up N' Adams Cut Me Loose "Annie" Tara Hill's Hunter Sam Wise "Sam" Owner/Handler Doreen A.F.
