1 ~HoofBeats~ Volume 26, Issue 04 April 2017 Tennessee Valley Mustang Club PO Box 1781 Knoxville, TN ~Mission of the TVMC~ The Tennessee Valley Mustang Club is dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of ALL Mustangs and Shelby Automobiles; 1964 ½ to current year. In addition, the club has two other objectives, i.e., the support of local charities and promoting mutual support of all car clubs in our area as well as other Regional Mustang Clubs and MCA. From the President s Desk It's a great time to be a Tennessee Valley Mustang Club member! Mark your calendar; we have a fun filled April. I would like to remind everyone of the Car Show at West Towne Christian Church this weekend on the 8 th. This is always a great show, and the proceeds benefit the Youth for their Mission Trip. They also have an inside garage sale that the ladies love. Donna usually fills the trunk. On the 15 th, we will be doing the Pony Ride, followed by dinner and the movie Fate of the Furious for our National Mustang Day event. We will 2:00pm at Carolina Ale. The movie time is 7:00; feel free to order your tickets ahead of time. We will eat at Turkey Creek; Donna will call ahead for seating. We did this event 2 years ago, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Also, Bristol Food City Race Day is April 21 st. Looking forward to you seeing at one or all. Also, I would like to remind you of Streetside Classic Cars show on May 13th in Nashville. We encourage you to attend; the proceeds raised from registration will be donated to our club. We will have a group going Friday night and a group going Saturday morning. Donna is working on a group rate for Friday night the 12th. She will have more details at the meeting. I also got an from Ponies in the Smokies; they will be back in We would also like to congratulate Jeremy and Renee Wiederspahn for their win at the 1st Ponies in the Smokies. Congratulations! Also please bring items to the meeting on Monday for the new raffle I know you all have something in the closet you would like to get rid of let do some spring cleaning. That annoying question we have all heard has so many meanings as we enter this month of April. As Spring unfolds with many changes, I challenge each of you to take a step back to reflect and measure how much you ve changed too. Has this year so far be fulfilling? Have you achieved or made progress on your resolutions? During my own reflections, I try to refer back to the teachings of Christ and set aim to be more like how he taught us to be. No matter how hard I try, I continuously fail at the goals I set and relapse to my old behaviors, often becoming subdued by society s role in teaching us to be complacent with fulfilling only our own desires. I simply have to remind myself to reflect again and get perspective on what s really important. Ultimately, I come back around to the same set of goals: Be humble, selfless, and accepting of humility; be loving, kind and slow to anger; be generous in giving as my wealth belongs to God; and be faithful in my relationships with God, my wife and children, my family, my friends, my community, and with mankind. As Easter approaches, I challenge you to reflect on your goals and how you truly measure up. What are your goals? Do you know what to measure? Are your scales properly calibrated? Are they in line with what you really need to truly be happy? I firmly believe if we hold true to these values, a lot of problems in today s society will be eroded away with time, leaving behind a more beautiful world. The rest will take care of itself.
