The new state of the art facility located just off I-55 in North Jackson houses the Jaguar, Land Rover, Audi and Volkswagen brands. They even have an on-site Land Rover test track! General Manager, Gerald Dillard, wanted to be sure that MCC members knew that they should contact him at if they have a special need for either a new or used vehicle. 2 Shake, Rattle & Roll Car Show update Rain, Rain, Go Away, Come Again Some Other Day! By some accounts we were lucky to have gotten a three hour break in the rain on Saturday morning so many of the cars and trucks made their way to Madison for the 5 th annual event at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison on Saturday, May vehicles registered for the event and another 24 vehicles from local new car dealers participated in the NEW CAR CORRAL. Not a bad turnout considering the rain was all around us. Awards were given out a little earlier than scheduled to beat the rain that eventually sent everyone home early. Many thanks are in order for the members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and the Mississippi Classic Cruisers that worked hard to put on this year s event. Let s hope for better weather next year. The 2009 Scarecrow Cruise & Car Show will soon be here! Me and my sweet ride will be going for the Top Car Award and Most Handsome Award at this year s Scarecrow Cruise & Car Show.

We are pleased to advise that the 6 th Annual 2009 Scarecrow Cruise & Car Show has been scheduled for October 16-17 and will once again be at the usual location on Main Street in Madison.

4 The 2009 Scarecrow Cruise & Car Show will soon be here! Me and my sweet ride will be going for the Top Car Award and Most Handsome Award at this year s Scarecrow Cruise & Car Show. You got a problem with that? We are pleased to advise that the 6 th Annual 2009 Scarecrow Cruise & Car Show has been scheduled for October and will once again be at the usual location on Main Street in Madison. One big addition to the 2009 event includes the Grillin For Life BBQ cookoff. This is a huge annual event that brings more than 50 BBQ teams in from all parts of the Southeast. The Scarecrow Car Show, Shopping for SIDS and Grillin For Life will all combine to make the 2009 event bigger and better than ever! More information about the event will be forthcoming in future newsletters. I ll be leading the Classic Car Caravan at this year s event in this beautiful classic cruiser. J.W. will be driving his wife s mini-van. He is truly my good buddy! We are very happy to report that most of last year s Scarecrow sponsors will be returning to support this year s event. 5 MCC s Saturday, June 13, cruise-in will be from 5pm to 8pm at the new Renaissance at Colony Park in Ridgeland. From Jackson take Ridgeland exit 105C off I-55, pass over the interstate and enter from the main entrance off Old Agency Road. From Madison take exit 105B which will also take you to the main entrance. A great location with plenty of parking, easy access to I-55, several great Renaissance at Colony Park with its beautiful water features and gardens is an ideal place for a classic car cruise-in. Hope to see everyone Saturday. eating establishments from casual to fine dining and many outstanding stores for the ladies makes this an ideal location for our monthly cruise-ins. As you enter the main entrance off Old Agency Road you will be very impressed by the beautiful water fountains and colorful landscaping that is second to none. Follow the CAR SHOW signs where we will be playing oldies music and will be giving out door prizes. We are expecting a big turn out so plan to arrive early. Hope to see all of you there! This year s event will be at a new location, Holmes Community College in Ridgeland. MAMA (Mississippi Automotive Manufacturers Association) has once again invited MCC members & sponsors and their guests to bring their classics to this event where Lindsay Chappell, editor of Automotive News, will be the guest speaker. Heavy hors d oeuvres and soft drinks will be provided. The event officially starts at 6pm so please try to have your classics on site by 5:30pm. Directions from Jackson to Holmes CC: take Ridgeland exit 105B off I-55. Take a left at the first stop light onto Sunnybrook Road. Travel ½ mile where you will see Holmes CC and the MCC club trailer. Directions to Holmes CC from Madison: take Ridgeland exit 105B. Take a left onto Old Agency, pass over I-55, turn left at the first traffic light which is Sunnybrook Road, travel ½ mile, Holmes will be on the right. We are looking to have about 75 classics at this event. As a reminder, the inside portion of the event is not really kid friendly so please plan accordingly. 6 MCC member Bob Jackman of Brandon will soon be on the television program Mississippi Roads! Last month a camera crew from Mississippi Roads spent an entire day at the home of Bob and Lori Jackman interviewing Bob and filming his unbelievable collection of over 4,000 miniature cars. If you haven t already seen his collection, display cases are on every wall in every room of his home and garage. It is quite a sight to behold so much so that it drew the interest of this local TV program. They interviewed Bob in several rooms in his home as well as him sitting in his 1963 Thunderbird Roadster. The next day the camera crew made their way to the home of Tom & Cindy Phillips in Madison where they spent about an hour interviewing Tom standing in front of his red Corvette to get his perspective on Bob s obvious obsession. Tom was also asked about the Mississippi Classic Cruisers Car Club as well as the Scarecrow Cruise & Car Show. The exact date that this will be aired is not yet known but it will likely be sometime in August or September. As soon as the date and time are known we will let you know. Television personality, Walt Grayson, will be hosting the program. Way to go celebrity Bob! The Mississippi Classic Cruisers web site will reach a major milestone this week reaching 20,000 hits! It took quite a while to get the word out about the site but it has become quite popular the past couple of years. If you haven t been to the site lately you will see lots of new information and tons of pictures of some great classic cars owned by many of our members. Go to to see the latest updates.
