2 Charles Corridori In 2010 I returned to the sport of archery after a 20 year hiatus. I introduced my lost love of archery to my family, and our lives have revolved around it ever since. Shortly after returning to competition a wise man made a statement that completely changed my outlook. He said that JOAD kids only have a few years to truly enjoy this great sport before life takes over. I took that statement to heart and decided that I needed to fill a different role in the archery community. In a sport that is built mainly on parents and volunteers, I needed to help wherever possible. Since that time I have taken Coaching courses, helped teach at local JOAD clubs, provided bow tuning for JOAD competitors, participated in planning and running Charity events, and acting as a Judge / Director of Shooting for local competitions. My goal was to continue the Arizona tradition of providing local archers with quality training and fun, meaningful events. As a Board Member, my main focus will be to find more ways to build participation in all of World Archery s competitive forms, Target, Field, and 3D.
3 Diana LaBeau For the past two years I have served on the USAA AZ Board. It s election time for my position so I would like to express my interest in being re-elected. For those who don t know me, I am a former Arizona State Archery Assn. Board Member, Treasurer and Toxophilite of the Year. Over the years, I have volunteered and officiated at many State and National tournaments. I ve been a competitive archer since 1985 earning many state and national titles as well as All American. Most of my recent activity has been as an official at the U.S. Outdoor Nationals and U.S. Field last year and shooting in senior tournaments (over the age of 50) as a recurve archer. My profession was Editor for The U.S. & International Archer Magazine where I worked with archers from around the world. My platform is directed toward the best interest of the archers and promotion of opportunities for competition. Growth in archery is something we are currently enjoying at a record pace. We all need to keep promoting the sport we love and find ways for archers of every level to enjoy the sport.
4 Bob Pian Grew up and attended grade school, high school and ASU all in Tempe. Partner at SPS+ Architects. Married with a former JOAD daughter. I would like the three current board members (Diana LaBeau, Charles Corridori, and Michael Speck.) to continue for continuity. I also encourage new members to join the board to bring in fresh perspectives. However if a there are not enough candidates or if the board would like me to seek election, I would like to serve as needed. Description of archery experience: Have served the local target archery community since 2001 in various capacities including; Club leader Instructor/Coach Arizona State Archery Association Board Member Tournament organizer JOAD parent Serves nationally as; USA Archery Rules and Officials Committee National Archery Association Board Member USA Archery Judge Easton Foundation and Archery Trade Association consultant. Participates internationally as; International Judge and Chair of Judges Technical Delegate for World Archery Americas
5 Michael Speck I have served as a member of the USA Archery AZ board for the past four years. I have been the Treasurer for the last two years. As treasurer I have instituted electronic book keeping which allows us to quickly and accurately track all of our funds. I ensure the appropriate tax paperwork is filed in a timely manner, prepare yearly budgets, and send out monthly updates to the board. In addition to serving as the treasurer, I also maintain the state webpage, and serve on the Arizona Cup Committee where I assist with the budgeting and financial records for the tournament. I first got into archery in College in 2006 where I was a part of the Sun Devil Archery Team at ASU. Since then I have been hooked, competing in local tournaments as well as several national tournaments. My goal if re-elected is to continue to improve our state tournaments by; encouraging participation at all ages (youth, adult, and senior), upgrading facilities and equipment, and ensuring that tournament formats are fun for the archers and relevant to USA Archery/World Archery rules. Arizona is home to some of the best archers in the country as well one as of the best run tournaments in the country. I believe this is due to our pool of local, high quality coaches, judges, and volunteers. Therefore another one of my goals is to promote training opportunities for judges, coaches, and volunteers. Finally, I would also continue my duties as treasurer. Outside of archery I am a Project Manager for a local Engineer/Contractor where I have successfully managed land development and infrastructure projects in excess of $5 Million. I also serve as the bookkeeper and web designer.
