Welcome to the 2019 AAE Arizona Cup Thirty years ago, a group of archers put together an invitation archery tournament held at the archery range on the Arizona State University campus.

2 Welcome to the 2019 AAE Arizona Cup Thirty years ago, a group of archers put together an invitation archery tournament held at the archery range on the Arizona State University campus. Over the years the tournament has moved around, ASU to PSE in Tucson to Ben Avery Shooting Facility. The tournament has gone from an invitational put together by Rick McKinney and a group of fellow archers, to a World Ranking Event, to its current place in the archery community, a USAT event. The reasons for the changes aren t important, the archers are what is important. This year is another record year. Registration closed with 595 entries, final shooting numbers were not done at the time I am writing this, but it will be around 580+ competitors. On top of the Arizona Cup, the Recurve Archers had a World Championship Team Trials prior to the start. Immediately following the Para and Compound Archers are having a trials event. Following that, your Compound Junior Dream Team is having a camp. This is a very busy year. We strive to bring you an excellent tournament every year and do our best to meet your needs and desires of an archery tournament insides the confines of the venue, needs of the governing body and our volunteer s time. We start planning the next year s event within a couple weeks of the current year s event to make sure any changes you have expressed are fresh in our minds. As everyone knows, you cannot be everything to everyone, but we can and do listen to your ideas. At the end of this program is a list of volunteers that have spent 100 s of hours planning, organizing and putting on the Arizona Cup. 4 Important Information for the AAE Arizona Cup Scoring will be on line using Each day you come to the range DO NOT check in following the blue sign put up by Ben Avery Shooting Facility, come straight to the range. Facebook Link USA Archery will be posting photos on SmugMug. Please use recognized parking spaces only. Those that park illegally may get towed at their own expense. USA Archery Dress Code will be enforced. You will be able to buy Premium Seating, Thursday Practice and Coach Credentials via cash or card at the venue. Premium Seating areas will be monitored; swapping or exchanging bands will result in loss of premium seating and payment. DRINK WATER, our desert dryness will sneak up on you. Water is free for archers at the water stations. You will receive a water ticket at check in. Give ticket at station and swap empty bottle for new one each time. The desert is beautiful this time of year. The flowers are in bloom and there is wildlife about. Do not try to approach animals. Take a picture at a safe distance. The desert is also home of some dangerous insects, arachnids and reptiles. They are fascinating to watch, do so at a safe distance, some of them can be life threatening. Do not go looking for lost arrows outside of the range area. If you see a snake, spider, centipede, etc.; don t judge for yourself if it is harmless. Let our staff know and they will take care of it if needed. All Compound Divisions shoot 50 Meters on 6 Ring 80cm target face. Recurve Senior and Junior Shoot 70 Meters on 122cm target face. Recurve Cadet and Master Shoot 60 Meters on 122cm target face. Make a new friend while you are here. Archers are awesome people. Archers are competing from 17 different countries. 38 different states will be represented.
