2 Bolton welcomes back IRONKIDS for this year s IRONMAN weekend with over 2,500 children taking to the streets of the town centre for the 2016 event. The course works its way through the town centre finishing on Le Mans Crescent under the IRONMAN Finish arch. The IRONKIDS event series kick-started in 2012 and offers children of all ability levels the opportunity to achieve something special. These instructions are to provide information useful for the event day to allow you to plan your travel and understand the race requirements. GETTING THERE Venue Address Bolton Town Hall, Victoria Square, Bolton, BL1 1TN Car Parking For town centre parking there are plenty of public car parks. Free parking over the weekend is available in Topp Way, Deane Road and Octagon multi-storey car parks. Disabled parking is available at Cheadle Square. Bus There are regular bus services around Bolton, for up to date information please visit the Great Manchester Public Transport website: Trains Bolton train station is situated 0.8 miles from the event site and is within easy walking distance. Alternatively, there is a taxi rank located just outside the station entrance. REGISTRATION CHILDREN DO NOT NEED GO TO REGISTRATION, THE INFORMATION CAN BE COLLECTED BY AN ADULT WITH THE CONFIRMATION. Registration will be held in the Market Place Shopping Centre in Bolton at BL1 2AL (opposite Boots) during the following opening times are as follows: Wednesday 13 th July 12:00-14:30 and 16:00-19:00 Thursday 14 th July 12:00-14:30 and 16:00-19:00 Friday 15 th July 12:00-16:00 and 16:30 20:00 Upon entering the Registration area you will need the address used to make the booking, we recommend printing the with the race numbers and bringing it with your as a reference. You will then need to sign a waiver for each child. At registration you will receive the following items: 1 IRONKIDS T-shirt this MUST be worn on race day. 1 IRONKIDS Race Number this MUST be worn on race day. 1 IRONKIDS Security Wristband this MUST be worn on race day. 2 Safety Pins to attach the race number 1 IRONKIDS Parent/ Guardian Wristband this will need to be shown to allow the child to leave the finish area.

Older children s start times are scheduled first, moving through the ages to the youngest children starting last. Below is a guide to the windows that starts will be scheduled, each child will receive a race number and specific start time prior to race week. For older ages, parents will not be allowed to run with their child including running along the barrier line, outside the course. Please consider also if you have a number of children taking part, that you will need to have someone with you to look after the children, while you are running with a child. MEDICAL Please provide medical details and emergency contact info on the back of the race number. This is the first place the medical team will check should a child require medical attention ATHLETE VILLAGE AND CHILD COLLECTION When finished the athlete will receive a medal. Children will then wait within the athlete village area, next to the IRONKIDS marquee, until a parent or guardian, wearing their respective wristband, is able to collect the athlete. Please note you must be present at the exit to athlete village area and wearing the respective wristband in order to collect the child.
